  1. No additional engineering. It's all been done already with the 9-5. I wonder if these engines can be made quiet enough for Cadillac style, though...I'm not familiar w/ the 2.0 or 2.5, but I'm used to 4cyl engines being horrid noisy little lumps...
  2. Ummm...they are the same car...some trivial differences, but that's about it.
  3. Considering that the DTS and decades of its DeVille predecessors had a V8 standard, the idea of a full size Cadillac with a 4cyl is hard for me to fathom...
  4. I wonder if they are planning a LWB version for the livery market (in China or NA).
  5. Maybe in some areas, but I never see those around... I see very few GM models in day-to-day traffic that are older than 10-15 years old..
  6. Saw a rumbling '70s Plymouth Volare 4dr-- primered and worn out w/ no grille jacked up w/ wide rear tires on Cragar SS mags driving down my street...strange.
  7. Saw this on the local news this evening...ruh-roh... http://www.torquenews.com/106/nissan-leaf-owners-hot-climates-experiencing-battery-problems
  8. The new ATS around the world driving video was pretty cool..
  9. Cubical I have to totally disagree with you. Out of College I bought my first pocket rocket, 1991 Ford Escort GT, the one Mazda built and it was a blast to drive till a moron trucker re-ended it and totaled the car. Then came a SRT4 Neon and that was a bad ass FWD. Look at what Audi has done with FWD luxury. You can so have a solid small FWD appliance without needing it to be RWD. If they tune it right, you will have a fun car to drive. Different niche...look at the original post. The FR-S and BRZ are RWD...if they are going to try and compete with them, then it needs to be RWD. FWD would be fine if they were doing a Mini competitor, though. Small RWD sports cars like the Miata, FR-S, etc and FWD 'hot hatches' like the GTI, Mini, 500 Abarth, etc occupy two distinctly different niches. Other than Driving dynamics of RWD versus FWD, if they are in the same price point and are well built fun machines to drive, I do not see the public caring about which set of wheels drives the auto. The general public is generally ignorant about cars, though.

  11. Congrats and good luck on the new gig!
  12. It's an interesting looking Eurovan..interesting how they've badged the passenger version 'Tourneo' and the cargo version 'Transit'.
  13. So the white one above is a pic of what the 2013 European Transit will look like.. I wonder if they will butch it up for the US market w/ a big chrome grille and giant Ford badge to look more like the current Econoline..
  14. I've read that in a couple places about the GT-40 and Corvair taillights, can't recall which version it was in regards to (Mk I, II or IV)...
  15. Hmmm...1983. My Dad and brother both bought pickups that year, the first one for each of them. My brother bought a new silver and gray two-tone S10 regular cab short bed 2wd, and my Dad bought a low mileage used '79 Dodge Power Wagon short bed 4x4. I learned to drive in it a couple years later..
  16. WHY WHY WHY, THat is a freakin shame! Maybe the owner was a Barney the Dinosaur super fan...
  17. I saw on Windtunnel tonight that Tommy Kendall is coming back to racing soon driving the Viper GTS-R...
  18. I like Agile, not far from Opel's Agila (a Spark-like subcompact below the Corsa).
  19. Get your college-age son's girlfriend pregnant (a former manager of mine did just that...)
  20. To go w/ LaCrosse maybe Eau Claire or Des Moines...(French sounding Midwestern city names).
  21. ..try and put out a stovetop fire w/ a paper towel.. ...plug in a still wet cell phone after a dunking and attempt at drying..
  22. Yes...the Astra CC would be nice to see here also.
