  1. I like the Ford Custom and Mercury Monterey...mostly because I really like the styling of the big Fords of that era.
  2. choice
  3. The Sonic doesn't have a CD player? Strange..
  4. No markets are "requesting" that type of vehicle from mercedees, it's a pure volume grab, nothing more. An unchecked vanity- the same that approved the tagline "In a perfect world, there'd be a mercedes in every driveway". It's mercedees following Cadillac of 1981. And fuel in europe has been notoriously high for years & years; if M-B is just NOW getting around to answering the market, it's already "too late" as the wags say about anything Cadillac proposes. Actually, they aren't 'just NOW responding'...the A-class has been out in Europe for over a decade, the B-class close to it...and why do you always misspell 'Mercedes'? Weird...check your 'facts'.. As far as gas mileage, they have plenty of diesels to offset the low volume AMG models..
  5. Well, the ATS is going to have the 2.5...same displacement as the Iron Duke..
  6. Why not; mercedees is bringing out FWD cars in the $30K price range merely to "sell more". The scary thought is a Caddy derived from the Cruze or Sonic would probably sell well. I hope GM doesn't stoop that low...leave Buick for the FWD entry-lux models.
  7. GM does by and large follow the Toyota playbook, though...offering a wide variety of boring FWD appliances..Ford is on the same plan, unfortunately. Yes they do, the Cruze is mostly boring and geared toward the Civic/Corolla, the Impala is being repositioned to take on the Avalon, which Ford already did with the Taurus. Toyota/Scion has the iQ, and here comes the Chevy Spark to compete. Rav4 and Highlander go unibody crossover, GM SUV's aren't far behind. Lexus has the RX, Cadillac has the SRX. To a large extent, the Toyota playbook works though, that is why others follow. Yes...quality mediocrity sells to the uninformed masses.
  8. GM does by and large follow the Toyota playbook, though...offering a wide variety of boring FWD appliances..Ford is on the same plan, unfortunately. So are BMW and Mercedes. Audi is already on the pulpit. BMW has no BMW-brand FWD vehicles yet, MB just a couple...the vast majority of their cars are superior RWD models, not FWD mediocrity.
  9. A large percentage of those sales are just trucks, though.

  11. Ugh...cheesy aftermarket lighting...I don't get why people put that crap on their vehicles.
  12. This is one of those pointless arguments that will go on to the end of time....like it was 25 years ago w/ carbs vs fuel injection, the vast majority of car makers have moved on from pushrod to OHC...obviously there were reasons for that...even GM and Chrysler have OHC for their 4 and 6 cyl engines. It's a losing argument arguing for pushrod. Get over it and move on..
  13. I wonder what dealers it will be sold at....SRT doesn't have standalone dealers that I know of. It is rather odd that Chrysler uses SRT both as a brand (SRT Viper) and as a trim level (Challenger SRT8, Charger SRT8, etc).. Anyway, it's going to be interesting to see what they do..
  14. Changing times and changing buyers, i guess...I couldn't imagine buying a 4cyl over a 6...
  15. That's a lot of miles.. I wouldn't trust anything w/ over 100k unless I put the miles on it myself.
  16. Never heard of a Chevy or Pontiac that was advertised as a 355, though.
  17. I've stuck w/ Im-PAL-ah, Bon-UH-vill, and Mon-uh-coh, though I've heard Im-PAHL-uh, Bonnie-vill, and Mo-NAH-coh.
  18. NeonLX has it, I think. From the original post--350s from GM's CPOB divisions, 351 and 352 from Ford. Not familiar w/a 353..something from the '50s?
  19. I hope they can stay afloat...the Karma is a thing of beauty.
  20. Wild..sure those aren't daydreams? I have a hard time getting to sleep w/ my insomnia and usually can't remember my dreams, probably due to the strong sleeping pills...
  21. Happy (belated) birthday!
  22. WTF is going on w/ the bed..
  23. I did 6 winters in NE Ohio and 3 in SE Michigan before moving to Colorado in '97....I used snow tires in Ohio, all the way around...1 winter w/ an '84 Ford Escort diesel, 5 with an '86 Mustang LX, and then my first SUV, an '88 Bronco II 4x4 for the Michigan winters..(which usually were milder than Ohio ones).
  24. Saw a Nissan NV in commercial livery (an HVAC maintenance/repair company) on the street for the first time (I saw ones on a Nissan lot months ago).
