  1. Wow...Parisian Oldsmobiles. Cool. Reminds me of when I saw a couple '80s Caprices and '80s F-150s in Florence, Italy...
  2. It could have been a white, blue or gold car that was repainted. White w/ turquise interior seems to be have been a popular GM color combo in the '60s.
  3. I think if the actual pillar had differered, the front and or rear door uppers would have been different..door openings and pillars are a very expensive thing to change from what I've read. The '77+ FBs had the same wheelbase as the DVs, unlike the previous generation where there were different wheelbases...
  4. The '77-79 FB B-pillar looked different than the SdV because of an overlay that was part of the vinyl top, I think... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cadillac_Fleetwood_Brougham
  5. Imagine the disaster if the condom truck had crashed into the lube truck...
  6. Getting back on topic, it sounds like the new CTS will be similar in size to the current one w/ most of the same engines as the ATS.
  7. IIRC, didn't the Taurus fail in Australia?
  8. Nah, FWD for my sister...I'll drive it some, but I'm sticking w/ RWD and 4WD.. She's had FWD cars in the past (Saab 900 Turbo, Acura Legend) along w/ RWD (several Datsun/Nissan Zs, the Benzes,Jeep Liberty, a Pinto)...
  9. I didn't realize Cadillac was using the diesel before 1980..
  10. Impossible; it's FWD generica !! Nice color, nice turbine blade wheels, and this one has the muted 'crystallized' tails with the LEDs beneath, right? Classy; you don't see the discount, off-shelf strip of LEDs most of the others think look fantastic (Caddy too, since). Those tails were totally distinctive, I was disappointed they didn't continue/spread with Cadillac. Yes, has the LED taillights and quad tailpipe tips. It was a one owner car, garage kept and well maintained from the appearances. I looked all over it yesterday, a few small scratches and chips, no dents I could see..it doesn't look like anyone ever sat in the backseat...no leather scratches or scuffs inside.
  11. After 10 years w/ two vintage Mercedes, my sister decided this week that she'd had enough of the money pits and decided to she wanted something newer and more reliable for the 50 mile per day commute (been working locally for a while instead of out of town). Working cold air conditioning was a top priority w/ today being the first 100 degree day of the season. So this is now in the driveway..I ran the car fax, it came up clean. It's a very clean, one owner '00 DTS, 96k miles. I drove it for about an hour tonight around town and on the freeway, it drives great..very smooth and quiet. I guess I will have to take back all the mean things I've said about FWD Caddies. Cabernet red w/ oatmeal interior.
  12. I still think a Suburban ZR1 would be great..
  13. So they will have the ILX, TSX, TL, and RLX....I wonder if the TL will get renamed TLX.
  14. Hmmm...do the German police have pudgy cops as we have in the US? Need to lay off the pastries.. The high door/narrow window design trend seems to be everywhere today... I was sitting next to an Equinox in traffic last week, noticed it had the windows rolled down and how tiny the window openings seemed in comparison to my '00 Jeep..
  15. I guess the plastic has warped over time? It looks like there is just a hole cut around the lights without a bezel or frame around the lights.
  16. Strange..would have thought they would trademarked SS decades ago..
  17. From what I've read, my generation (X) is much smaller than the Baby Boomers or the Millennials/Gen Y.. the Boomers are still going to be a big part of car sales for quite a while (since the youngest ones are under 50).
  18. Well, 'world' in the sense of the World Series or Super Bowl...
  19. Young's Jersey Dairy. Their website goes moo. http://youngsdairy.com/ About 30 miles from the Dayton airport. http://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=Dayton+International+Airport,+Vandalia,+OH&daddr=6880+Springfield-Xenia+Rd,+Yellow+Springs,+OH+45387&hl=en&sll=39.86328,-84.04023&sspn=0.298837,0.676346&geocode=FVrOYAIdyuP6-iE1Dw0vHY4WCw%3BFXS2XwIdZjoA-yl3p-r-Zl8_iDE1v4R6rIyg0g&oq=Dayton+intern&mra=ls&t=m&z=1 1
  20. If they have no bread, let them eat cake. The "youfs" are currently 50... and every year that cars get more expensive compared to average income, the higher that number will go up. Soon all cars will be designed for 90 year olds... the numbers on the dashboard will be 6 inches tall, the controls will be like a Fisher Price activity center... good for arthritic hands will lousy motor control... and they will largely drive themselves... at 35 mph with the left turn signal on for miles... without the ability to turn off the self-drive feature. Have fun. I don't where this 50 number comes in, but I know plenty of people my age (early 40s) and younger that are buying new cars...
  21. Sweet...always liked the styling of those..
  22. The youfs can always ride a bike, the bus, or buy used cars.. Seats get adjusted if you have two people using the car.. though memory seat settings make that chore easier.
  23. Yes, manual windows, manual vinyl seats and a cassette deck don't cut it anymore (what my first car had). Small cars don't have to be depressing gray and stripped inside anymore...can get them quite loaded and civilized today.
