  1. I voted yes, though I'd need to get rid of the black doorhandles and mirrors, the bland wheels (needs black steelies) and try and spruce up the drab gray interior.
  2. They probably blew through a lot of their money on alcohol, drugs, etc during their party hardy years..
  3. Nice to see more coupes in the market...it will be interesting to see if the metal looks like a 2dr version of the GS or if they give it some uniqueness...
  4. ..which leads to a naming conundrum for Cadillac if they decide to have a model below the ATS..
  5. Interesting..I wonder if they are going to use the FWD platform only for the next-gen 1-series hatchbacks, and the other bodystyles will be RWD. I've also read that the next coupe and convertible will be badged as 2-series.
  6. Maybe made it smoother and a bit quicker? I really didn't think about the engine or transmission. It drove fine...
  7. Those were neat looking cars...based on an Opel even then, I think...and the Brazilian version was the Chevy Opala. Not sure, but they appear to be slightly bigger than a Nova in size.
  8. Well, they had the Neon SRT. And Ford has the Focus ST coming...
  9. Not really..the main thing I've noticed is the deletion of the chrome strip on the decklid and the grille texture change.
  10. Happy Birthday!
  11. Had another Impala rental this Memorial Day Weekend, and like Memorial Day Weekend last year, it was white..but this time w/ a sunroof, rear spoiler, and a dark charcoal interior...picked it up at Chicago O'Hare Friday afternoon and put about 500 uneventful miles on it. Nice cold air con in warm, humid Illinois/Indiana weather. Had to jog my memory, but I think this was the 10th Impala of this generation I've rented over the last few years..
  12. I've read somewhere that a chrome bumper was an option in '68.
  13. I should have 2 free places in the back driveway once my sister unloads her Benzes...then I can store the Jeep back there until I get out of AZ...
  14. Saw a few interesting cars on my holiday weekend around Chicagoland and Indianapolis and in between.... gorgeous Lime Frost '67 Mustang 2+2, a clean black '66 Olds 88 4dr, a sharp white '69 Camaro SS convertible, a black G8 GXP, a grabber blue '13 Shelby GT500, a dark blue '07--09 GT500..
  15. Good to hear.
  16. Questionable. The Rambler was quite outdated at the time (the Rambler American was an update of an early '50s design).
  17. The color plus automatic trans just screams Excitement!!! Got to say, though, one neat aspect of the J cars was how diverse they were...5 brands, a variety of engines, and the Cavalier had 5 bodystyles at one time..
  18. Yes, probably bigger money pits than my sister's '84 500SEL. They build the 600 into the '80s, IIRC.
  19. Those cars were sweet...huge w/ incredibly complex systems (hydraulics for power windows, door locks, etc).
  20. Agreed..it is worrying. Hope he's all right.
  21. It was starting to look a bit old by '60...the basic design lasted from '51-62.
  22. the Nah, the 180/190 was kind of like a C-Class. The 300 was the Big Dog..
  23. The '67 GTO is pretty sweet...though the '65 is my favorite of the early GTOs.
  24. One thing I do like about contemporary VW interiors (I've looked closely at the Golf, New New Beetle, and Eos interiors, not so much at the new Passat or Jetta) is they are generally quite cleanly designed, logically laid out w/ solid switchgear and decent materials..I like the fact that they don't have the wierdness or overwrought quality IMO that so many smaller car interiors have (i.e. Fords, Hyundais, Hondas).
