  1. It will be interesting to see what direction the styling goes...the C6 already has a small rear compared to the C5....
  2. Disguised modified C6 body hiding the fact that the new C7 platform is.... Epsilon II.
  3. As with BMW, M-Bs FWD models are just the small entry-level models...I don't see the serious models going FWD any time soon..
  4. Well, the i3 is going to be FWD, not sure about i8... I've read the next 1-series hatchbacks w/ be FWD and that the 2dr coupe and convertible will be RWD and badged as a 2-series. So it's just the low end entry models that will be FWD....doubt if any of the serious models will go FWD.
  5. Checked out the Target near my office after work tonite...found the red IROC-Z, the green '73 Firebird (sweet), the recolor of the '70 Camaro race car in red, a repaint of the '68 El Camino in purple now w/ a tonneau cover, the Aventador, and the Estoque recolored in dk blue...
  6. Which means the Cadillac Spark-based model isn't far behind! Actually, the NG A-class is more Sonic-sized, I think...
  7. Well, that was a hundred years ago...technology has evolved since then. It doesn't stay stuck at a particular point in time...
  8. Odd they think a small sports car would diliute the brand image--how would it any more than an obese CUV and an obese sedan already have?
  9. Many people are against innovation and advancement and efficiency..they can be called 'luddites' or 'conservatives'....(j/k). I'm not necessarily a fan of electric cars, but I do like forward advancement of technology..it is interesting...electrics are usable for many use cases, but range is definitely an area for improvement....
  10. Will be interesting to see how the entry-level models do in the US.
  11. Haven't renewed, but the ads went away...
  12. For some reason, I've long found the Avantime interesting..for the audacity of the design and idea. Saw one in person in the UK a few years ago, they look really cool in person. That Alpine GTA was pretty cool. IIRC, one or more the car mags claimed in the mid- '80s it would come to the US as a AMC Renault coupe (before Chrysler acquired AMC).
  13. And Google has placed a black bar over it's homepage doodle...
  14. DMCA, SOPA, PIPA are tools to support the obsolete 20th century business models of the recording/media industries..they need to evolve for the internet era without legislative nonsense or go out of business.
  15. Given Fords recent success w/ their V6 model, I assume this strategy will be different w/ the next Silverado...
  16. Ick...I like that era Caddy, but the modifications are backyard hot rodder type crap....the gauges in the center of the dash in particular...ick..where are the dash vents? Stereo? HVAC controls?
  17. That is in the past... Isn't Holden getting the Malibu soon also (to replace the Epica)...the next Commodore will probably be badge engineered from the upcoming Epsilon II Impala... Toyota being the #1 seller indicates Aussies of today aren't that different than Genericans, buying FWD appliances....
  18. If they could cut down the obesity of the Silverado by 1000-1500lbs, then maybe the base model could have a turbo 4...and isn't the standard engine in the Silverado the 4.3 V6?
  19. The 140 is the next generation Eclipse that Mitsubishi won't build..
  20. I always liked the rear end design of the Reatta and the back window of the coupe..the rest of the car, though was rather 'meh'...
  21. This kind of reminds me of a story in Denver from a few years ago...a guy was like 92, had been in the same house 60+ years..had a small well-worn house on a square lot on a busy street in a neighborhood that had been gentrified--big glass and steel office buildings, apartment buildings, restaurants, etc around him...he had a faded late '60s Ford pickup in the driveway, a brown '69 Galaxie w/ weeds up around it beside the house, and a falling in garage w/ a '57 Ford peeking out..there was an article on him in the paper around 2005 about his fight against the city over zoning changes... I drove down that street last year, and his place was all gone, replaced by a shiny new Chipotle w/ parking lot...
  22. Because Holden sells cars on every inhabited continent for one thing. Okay, but all of those vehicles sold by manufactured by "Holden" could be made in other places at a cost comparative basis. Last time i checked, Holden is only sold in Australia. Yeah, they have Chevrolets in NA and middle east and Vauxhalls in UK, but manufacturing in the US might make more sense. For some markets, I'm sure it would - for others not so much. But having no homegrown model would surely cripple the brand in Oz. I wonder, though, if over time Australians have become like most buyers in the US--abandoning RWD largish cars for FWD 4cyl generics...
  23. Because Holden sells cars on every inhabited continent for one thing. Not really...Holden exports cars to other markets where they are sold under other GM brands....those Commodores and Caprices could be built elsewhere...the Holden brand is OZ (and NZ?) only...
  24. One thing weird w/ their naming scheme is there is no progression...MKZ is the junior car to the MKS instead of the other way around...MKT sort of fits relative to MKS, though...
