  1. Interesting how it has those strange bars on each side of the engine...and the air cleaner (white rag?) looks non-stock.
  2. Well, other than the relatively low volume Camaro and Corvette, Chevy has been only FWD appliances for the last 15 years....
  3. They are #1 in sales for that long only if you're counting F-150 v. Silverado only. Add in Sierra and/or Avalanche to GM's count and the title of #1 1/2 ton pickup seller has flipped back and forth a few times over those years. (and back into the C/K1500 years too) Ford has long used creative accounting when addressing sales. That is why I question their longest lasting claim. Is that just the F150 or the F series. Or is that just some years vs others. I think they are cagey on whether it's the F150 or the entire line..though it was a moot point until the schism in '97.
  4. And electronic content...they want features like SYNC etc...
  5. i would expect the next 1-series to be lighter since it will be on a weak FWD platform.
  6. I have no insight into what the kiddies like, but I've noticed the teenage son of my neighbors has a Kia Soul, another down the street a late model Hyundai Tiburon and a friend of mine has a teenage son and daughter with matching his and hers Priuses.
  7. The GT-R of today has nothing in common with the Skyline. You are thinking of previous generations of GT-Rs, when they were called the Skyline GT-R. Today's GT-R is a unique model. It is true the G37 is based on the Skyline, but the current GT-R is not related to the Skyline.
  8. Fun...I haven't taken my WJ offroading in a while...
  9. Let's see, I drive an SUV that gets 16-18mpg and I fill up once a week....so at $3/gallon it's about $45/week, $4/gallon it's about $60/week....$15 difference...about 3 cups of coffee. Not a big deal to me.
  10. The new Prius C should be a hit w/ the youth market..and maybe cars like the Velocter, Juke, Soul...
  11. I had an '84 Escort diesel....between my folks and I we put 150k on it....very reliable little car. 55mpg highway.
  12. I looked up the NV350...pretty radical in the boxy Japanese van style, like a descendant of the boxy Nissan van that was sold in the US in the '80s.
  13. Interesting...I thought that configuration was invented in '59 w/ the original Mini.
  14. Meh....been there, done that in '08.
  15. And how many times have you bragged on the massive v12 put in a handful of MBs?? Apples and oranges...those are factory, this is a homemade POS.
  16. That doesn't look like pearl white, just looks like plain old white. I like the purply red, dark red, and silver blue on the 1st gen Auroras...
  17. Sharp...always liked the design of the 1st gen Aurora..not the best color, but a very clean car.
  18. Aren't you stretching the definition of badge engineering here? Not really...generally, the Silverado and Sierra differed only in the grille and badging..that was the case for decades up until the current generation. Trivial differences. Same w/ the Tahoe/Suburban/Yukon, vans, Colorado/Canyon, S10/S15, etc.
  19. Really? THAT green was the color to have? I recall seeing a ton of these GA's in bright red, black, and white. Green was non-existent in my area of NJ. When I sold BPG in '99-'00, we couldn't give away our one green '99 GA GT coupe - it didn't sell well into 2000. Trade-in GA's from '96-'97 were never in green too. By '99-00 the teal fad had passed, I think. In the early-mid 90s teal and similar blue-greens were hugely popular IIRC, esp. with Fords, maybe less so w/ GM. I remember all the teal Rangers, Explorers, Mustangs, etc from '92-95 or so...
  20. Well, badge-engineering is certainly nothing new to GMC--they've spent decades selling trucks and SUVs badge-engineered from Chevys...only recently have they started having any substantive differentiation.
  21. Probably had an elderly owner that drove it very little.
  22. Well, since the Outlook is out of production, no big deal. Now if the Acacia and Outlook were in production together w/ this body, then a rebadge might be an issue...but the sheeple probably wouldn't notice or care.
