  1. I wonder if there is going to be a V8 GS this time...
  2. Hmmm...a prop for the next Austin Powers movie?
  3. Looks like a prop from that crappy prison racing movie from a couple years ago
  4. Took a different street this morning and saw a couple oddities---a metallic medium blue early '50s Kaiser 4dr sedan in a driveway, and across the street from it, a white '67-68 Chevy extended cab pickup---someone must have made their own extended cab in the past, the truck wasn't shiny but well worn and white w/ a pipe rack..
  5. Sweet...love those funky '61 B-body sedan rooflines w/ the wrap around rear glass...
  6. There is a 2011 9-5 on ebay now BIN price 39500.
  7. Would be cool to have one just like that along w/ a black '89 Town Car as a pair.
  8. Sweet..has the ubiquitous white steel wheels that were so popular back in the day...my Dad had a set of those on his '79 Dodge Power Wagon that I learned to drive in.
  9. I'll have to ping one of my old bosses in Denver...4 years ago he and his wife were an all SAAB family...had late model 9-5, 9-3 Combi, 9-3 cabrio...
  10. It's a street car, not a race car..there was no legitimate reason for the idiot to disable the governor, and that probably voided his warranty.
  11. They need an apple green also..another great '70s Mopie color.....
  12. I bet people that did pay that much for a new 9-5 have some serious buyer's remorse right about now....
  13. Ford should do a MLP version of the Mustang...
  14. As far as uncommon colors, I'd love to see the Challenger offered in that great brown the Chrysler 300 now has, with a tan interior...
  15. And thus the value of nearly new SAABs drops to zero...
  16. Looks like the same color as the '87 Trans Am GTA a buddy of mine had in high school...those were neat cars.
  17. Maybe they are doing an offsite also. Or 2012 is a carryover year for GMC with nothing to show...
  18. Drive a Cruze Eco and your opinion of what they can do for NHV in 4-cylinders should really change.... and there isn't nearly as much effort put into that engine as the new 2.0T and 2.5. Good point...haven't driven a Cruze..last small 4cyl GM products I've driven were a couple of Cobalt rentals in '08-09...very noisy and rough.
  19. True but if you go back 10-15 years, a Lumina/Impala, or Buick, Pontaic, or Olds probably had a 3800 with 200 hp, 225 lb-ft. The 2.5 liter four may hit the 200 hp mark, but probably more like 180-190 lb-ft or torque. I see the 2.5 liter being the new 3800 in a sense, where it is used on all mid-size sedans and crossovers like the Equinox. So there hasn't been a drop in power, just cylinder count, but cars of 2015 seem like they will have the same power as those in the late 90s. Compared to say 1985 to 2000 when power really went up. Probably similar power and torque, but heavier in general...across all size classes, cars of today are heavier of those 10-15 years ago...maybe 250-500lbs on average? But the typical level and quality of interior content has gone way up also...
  20. What a moron.
  21. True...at least then most cars were RWD and big...too many small FWD appliances today. But at least they are well equipped as far as interior content. It's amazing that 4 cyls today have more HP than V8s from the mid '80s.
  22. Would be an interesting car to keep largely as is but upgrade to a later LT or LS engine...
  23. From Wikipedia-- Spain The Jeep "SV" line of Forward Control vans made in Spain In the 1960 s, Kaiser-Willys licensed VIASA (Vehículos Industriales y Agrícolas, S.A.) to build Jeeps in Spain. During the late-1970 s, VIASA was absorbed by Ebro trucks (a division of Motor Iberica). The "SV" line of commercial trucks were built using a Jeep chassis, just like the FC models in the USA. The unique Iberian models included the Campeador (one-ton pickup), Duplex (double cab pickup), Furgon (one-ton van), and the Toledo (9-seat van). Two engines were available: the Super Hurricane in-line six or a Perkins 4-cylinder diesel.
  24. ^ Appliance makers know that the 4dr/5dr appliances sell the best and that most consumers aren't interested in 2dr or 3dr ones.... Most personal transportation appliances today are 4dr, 4cyl, FWD, and automatic....thus Chevy's lineup circa 2013 will be primarily 4dr/5dr FWD/AT 4cyl appliances in XXS, XS, S, M, and L sizes, with the Corvette and Camaro as novelties. Strange times we live in. Thing is, the public by and large doesn't care..they just want their appliance to be reliable and cheap to run.
