  1. FWIR, Buick had the only 6 cyl full size model in '76..Ford and Chevy had dropped their full size 6 cyl models a few years before...with the '77 downsizing, several of the B-bodies had standard 6 cyl versions.
  2. Just add ventiports on the hood and a waterfall grille...maybe different wheels and front bumper..
  3. Maybe the Ram via Fiat will come up w/ something. Both GM and Ford have new, modern small diesel trucks outside NA, but seem unable to make a business case for them here..
  4. They updated the FB pic...now you can see the entire greenhouse and rear quarter. Definitely looks like the Gamma Opel mini-CUV.
  5. The Atlas has to have been one GM's shortest lived engine architectures..the 6 cyl version is gone, I assume the 4 and 5 cyl versions will be gone when the Colorado/Canyon get replaced.
  6. They actually put in production 20 years ago..remember the Syclone?
  7. Samosa
  8. I wonder if that Eldo camino was built as a flower car..has the aluminum bed like one.
  9. They did that 20 years ago... I wonder if the base engine in the next full size truck will be the 3.6 V6?
  10. I see...kind of a witty tagline for each.
  11. 'Other North American Brands'. 'Non-GM North American Brands'. Or 'Marques' if you want to stay classy. ('Other Domestic Marques') ? (Volvo is in the European Marques, shouldn't be in this list).
  12. Yes...it's green sister the Leaf looks like a frog also. Lots of anthropomorphic car designs today, what with all the fish-faced Fords and Mazdas.
  13. A year of change for me, lots of ups, some downs. Changed jobs twice. Went from being an employee in a Fortune 500 company to a contractor in a Fortune 500 company in a completely different industry to a joining a small consulting company w/ a variety of clients. Went from a long commute to a short commute to a moderate length commute. Experienced the death of one of my/my sister's dogs that I've lived w/ the last few years. For fun, took a bunch of long weekend vacations, mostly to California and Colorado...for motorsports.went to two NASCAR races locally, the Long Beach ALMS and Indy Car races, the Indy 500 (pretty special since it was the 100th anniversary), and the Porsche Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca. Went to a couple of the nationally known January Scottsdale car auctions and several car shows incl. the Copperstate 1000 roll out. Added another 12k or so miles to the Jeep, no major problems this year other than one of the motors on the driver's power seat failed (waiting now on a replacement seat track and motors I bought on eBay). Sampled a variety of rental cars this year on trips...Mazda 5, 3 Chevy Impalas, a Chrysler 300, and a Cadillac STS (liked the last 2 quite a bit). Discovered a few bands and musicians that are 'new' to me, enjoyed a few concerts. Sampled a lot of different restaurants in the Phoenix metro area, incl. some I'd overlooked in past years.
  14. Ditto!
  15. I remember first seeing one of those around '89 down the Florida Keys...lots of Canadians in the Keys back then. Another Canadian model I recall seeing occasionally in Michigan in the '90s were Chrysler Intrepids..
  16. The Nitro front end always looked too tall and narrow to me.
  17. 20k was the norm for 1st gen GCs, I've read. Not a big deal, just routine maintenance.
  18. What kind of car? I've typically gotten 80K-100K plus a recut and 80K more... however, in the last decade, I've stopped getting rotors cut, as thin (yet in-spec) tend to warp more... and I REALLY hate warped rotors. '00 Grand Cherokee...I usually replace the rotors and pads (all 4 wheels) about every 40k or so..
  19. I wonder how many miles the rotors had... I've been able to get about 40k out of each set..
  20. Looked on Youtube...found lots of videos of dyno mishaps, mostly tuner Hondas puking their engines.
  21. Probably started w/ a used G8 and used Commodore Ute parts off of OZ eBay.
  22. Probably shipped it to the US as parts and assembled it here using a G8.
  23. Cool...but I think the new Veyron Jr is going to be based on the Up!
  24. Hmmm...something looks really wrong with that picture.
  25. Funny you mention the C30...for some reason, I find this little hatchback very appealing....sort of a modern AMC Gremlin style..
