  1. The hatch body has some very interesting character lines...I really like the line that goes from the taillights and wraps around the door handles...like the bright strip at the top of the side windows also.
  2. Enjoying a Rush concert on Palladia...great use of the HDTV and surround sound...bringing back happy memories of seeing them at Red Rocks in Colorado a few years ago...
  3. Must resist temptation. Though I've cruised through the lot of the local Chrysler Dodge Jeep store 3 times in the last week.
  4. Had some beautiful fall weather here today--65 and sunny..went out for a few hours this afternoon rolling around in the '91 Merc 300CE, sunroof open, windows all down for the hardtop effect.... Saw a gorgeous black & red '12 Mustang Boss 302 Laguna Seca, a new Camaro in a dark berry red color I didn't recognize, and not 1 but 3 CTS-Vs.... saw a solid, primered and very rumbly '69 Chevelle.. saw a clean black '69 Impala Custom Coupe. Counted 25 Priuses, 4 Insights, and 1 Leaf..
  5. Love those '65-66 style Galaxies..did you ever see pics of the 4dr ht limos that were built back then? Gorgeous...
  6. That's one thing I particularly didn't like when I drove one last year as a rental...hard to see out the back. One the of the things I love about the Panthers, as old they are, is the excellent outward visibility...almost airy compared to the dark cave the Taurus I drove was...
  7. I once saw a pic of a customized '59 Chevy sedan that had the continental kit extension w/o the wheel and a BBQ grille installed on the 'deck'.
  8. The '56 T-bird is about the only continental kit I like because it was standard that year... the ones with the spacing between the body and bumper look so tacky and cheesy...
  9. The Taurus has the better looking dash design of the two, IMO. The biggest design flaw w/ the Taurus and MKS IMO is the doors are too tall and flat--they seem F150 sized..need larger windows or section about 4-6 inches out of the body...
  10. Here's a more modern alternative...though I'd get rid of the bulky aluminum thing at the back and have a flat tonneau cover made... Or graft on a Fox body Mustang hatchback and rear C-pillars to make a Town Car 2 seater fastback! http://firsttradereg...2_07/88lincoln/
  11. Bummer...no G3s or G5s.. j/k... the Bonnie, the Grand Am and Trans Ams are fantastic...my favorite is probably the blue w/ blue interior '74. My brother had a '74 Formula 400, same color scheme...alas, it was a rusty Ohio car before it went up in flames.
  12. A lot more A- and B- segment cars being pushed by the car makers...not sure how well they will sell unless gas prices go up, though.
  13. Hmmm...an Epsilon II based ute may finally result in a US-market El Camino revival, since GM seems to be afraid to bring more Zeta models here.
  14. WoW..that is a cool bunny.
  15. Would make a great Chevy Monza. Since Chevy has no compact 2dr/3dr, this could work...
  16. Allpar has a pic of the Liberty Arctic Edition..white. Sharp. There is a Wrangler Unlimited Arctic Edition also. http://www.allpar.com/SUVs/jeep/arctic.html
  17. Right, so I was wondering what place it had in the discussion. Meaning that can't compare premium BMW and RR RWD models to GM's FWD mass market models. Maybe 'mainstream' was the wrong word.... the point is, transverse engine w/ FWD is used on mainstream, volume cars...appliances. It has no place in expensive premium models (Lexus only uses it on their entry level volume appliances, for instance--the ES and RX, their serious models are RWD). The XTS will be a volume entry lux model to compete with the MKS and ES. The weak FWD/transverse engine platform makes it uncompetititive with premium models from BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, etc. I'd love to see GM build a legitimate large RWD competitor above the CTS to compete with BMW and M-B...but they aren't going to get there with a weak, mainstream FWD platform. To put it in other terms, FWD is like McDonalds and Wal-Mart. Luxury cars need to aim higher.
  18. You mean like the joke like the Rolls Royce Ghost ($225K) on the 7-series platform ($71k) which is in turn based on the 5-series platform ($41k)?? Re-fixed. Both the 5 and the Ghost are based on the 7. True, but that's a premium RWD platform...not a mainstream transverse engine FWD platform.
  19. Hmm..interesting. Mass. plate..I could see 68 hooning around in that...
  20. Of course it does, I had to PC my definition down before anyone got their panties in a wad. That said, One Million Moms is a far-right conservative group, affiliated with the far-right conservative American Family Association, so yeah, conservatives are the reason you can't buy Schweddy Balls. So it's the usual idiot fringe groups. AFA is based in Mississippi, a state renowned for the ignorant and backward.
  21. Good luck and hope all goes well for you.
  22. Packard Predictor, I believe. (didn't check Wikipedia either...I remember this car and the Packard Request from a magazine article years ago...)
  23. That style Datsun pickup was sold in the US in RHD form in the '70s..they had a trim level called the 'Lil Hustler'...haven't seen one in a long time.
