  1. and give up my flat front floor? I think not. Besides burning the front tires off with a 556hp s/c V8 would be just as fun. A challenge would be finding/building a transaxle stout enough for the power and torque.
  2. IMO, the '80-85 Seville and '79-85 E-bodies all looked like RWD cars to me w/ the long hoods and short decks. Likewise for the earlier Eldos and Toros. Great proportions, IMO. A design detail I so strongly dislike about most contemporary FWD/transverse engine models is the short distance between the front wheelwells and the doors...
  3. Yes, but that would ok since those Sevilles didn't have a transverse engine...and have a long hood.. Great proportions for a FWD model, and it has a super short deck which is all the rage today..
  4. Would be nice without the junk (running boards, wheel on the back, padded top).
  5. Probably still owned by Rover, which is owned by the Chinese MG parent, IIRC. Sterling could be good..was only used in NA, doubt if many people remember it (not to be confused w/ the defunct Sterling truck brand). Has a premium sound to the name.
  6. They would probably have to come up with a new brand name...IIRC, all the heritage BLMC brand names are owned by BMW (Austin, Morris, Triumph, Riley, etc) except for MG and Rover which are now Chinese owned.
  7. Nothing wrong with selling a high powered SUV...they have frugal diesel versions to offset it. It's pretty cool IMO.
  8. I have no interest in Black Friday shopping nonsense....going to have a quiet 4 day weekend at home w/ family....if I do any shopping, it will be online.
  9. In the '70s, Jaguar didn't have to resort to this because they were part of BLMC...they had the Austin and Morris brands for small cars (and Vanden Plas rebadges for 'premium' small cars). Does Tata have anything bigger than the Nano in their portfolio?
  10. The blue section on the left makes me think an EU country..not sure about the yellow on the right or the wide spacing between letters. Saw an unusual local plate over the weekend--a silver late model DTS with a 3 letter AZ plate...something like 'ZWS'. I would think a 3 letter plate would be hard to get. Also saw an A8 with Swiss embassy plates at Wal-Mart last week.
  11. This is, of course, correct. "Faking" such a thing isn't really possible. Video can be edited... anyway, it's a moot point since the Cobalt is defunct...no one cares. Yeah, if the Cobalt were so great, it would still be here. I never drove an SS model, but the base Cobalt was miserable to drive. I've had a couple as rentals..noisy and hard plastics inside. Nothing special, but much better than the Cavaliers that I've driven in the past.
  12. Who knows what really happens w/ these things. I'm just skeptical....I just don't think much of small FWD cars. Anyway, it's irrelevant to the XTS. Will be interesting to see how the XTS turns out.

  15. Maybe try a locking gas cap..
  16. I see nothing wrong in that S-class interior...you ever sat in one? They are really nice...a very comfortable place.. it's a solid, well engineered car.
  17. Does anyone really believe that, though? I've always assumed they faked those numbers...and it's still just a Cobalt..
  18. Again, even it it's relatively high volume it's segment, it's still a superior platform to any FWD plaftorm.
  19. Post it on a free site like Photobucket and link to it.
  20. Interesting concept, hideous paint scheme.
  21. Hardly...a $50k+ luxury model platform is not mass market..it's not some transverse engine FWD generic used on $25k rental cars...
  22. The Groove looks more similar than different to the xB...same blocky shape, similar greenhouse, similar fender bulges, etc. Just a pair of odd little boxes.
  23. Who says this is their top sedan. With a coming flag ship and a new larger CTS the XTS is just a volume Luxury sedan like the Lexus ES 350. For the time being, it is the top sedan. Nothing else has been announced. Any other flagship is just a rumor at this time. Isn't the LaCrosse the volume luxury sedan that should be competing w/ the ES? That was the Buick marketing angle a while back IIRC.. Now a proper flagship model in the style of Ciel would be an interesting direction...
