  1. One tiny detail I noticed--folding rear seat headrests..not sure why they would call that out as a highlight... M-B had power ones over 20 years ago...
  2. I like the Chrysler's proportions and shape a lot better, though I suspect the XTS has more rear seat room.
  3. Short wheelbase also..111 inches...
  4. Sounds reasonable to me.
  5. It was a reworked Biturbo, IIRC.
  6. Cool..it actually uses Corvette styling cues...nice change from most prototype-class race cars that have decal branding only..
  7. Beautiful...don't think I've seen a '68-69 in years in any condition.
  8. Interesting...I wonder if the ELWB model is a precursor to winding down Maybach.
  9. Good luck w/ the Regal...good looking car, don't see them very often.
  10. That Citroen hot rod is pretty wild... the rear fenders reminds me of the 'Rocketeer's helmet or something...I don't recall that Jeep concept..neat.
  11. Here's something I whipped up illustrating the differences. I couldn't help to pepper in a little opinion in the commentary, so simply ignore where I ramble a bit if you have to. Ignore how crude it is. My graphic design skills have gotten very rusty since I quit taking classes. And, once again, the only things that I see that had to be changed on the concept car (which, once again, was touted to be a "thinly veiled" version of the eventual product) to make it production friendly are: The size of the side-view mirrors. The headlamp detailing. Some interior parts and switchgear. Once again, I think the glasshouse was changed so that the hardpoints of this larger version of EPII could more easily be shared with the upcoming Chevrolet Impala. The question is how many people who are the target of this car will really notice? Doubt it... it's a DTS replacement and a competitor for the MKS, RL and ES..nothing more..will provide a steady volume and fleet sales for a while. I hope we eventually see a real, serious Cadillac range topping full size sedan that will be competitive in the big leagues..
  12. Yes, the finest in Italian craftsmanship. Had a lot of reliability problems I've read..
  13. About the only 3 wheelers that I'd consider 'cool' are Morgans. Reliant Robins have a certain wierd appeal about them (and watching Clarkson roll them on TG was hilarious). The original SAAB was a great design--a neat teardrop shape.
  14. Never cared for the BiTurbo, but I liked the '80s Quattroporte...I had friends in high school whose parents had one, rode in it a few times...sweet luxury car in a Big 80s kind of way...
  15. Ariel Atom. Minimalist and insane. I really, really want to drive one of these on twisty Ohio backroads (and watch out for the Amish buggies and horsepies).
  16. For styling, I'd definitely rather have a '67-70 Eldo, '66-67 Toro, or '66-69,71-72 Riv... but I love the audaciousness of a massive convertible w/ a 500 cid engine...
  17. Take one of these, have a thorough going over for mechanical issues, add a CD player, take a stack of my favorite '70s music, some Ray Bans and Hawaiian shirts and it would a great car for a laid back May-June cross country road trip.. massive convertible would be perfect for such a trip. Phoenix to LA to Vegas to Denver then cross country to the Florida Keys....
  18. M83--Midnight City. First heard this in a Victoria's Secret ad. Cool French electronica. I have a couple of their earlier CDs, hadn't heard their latest disc yet.
  19. Will be interesting to see a comparison with the JGC SRT8. Is BMW still offering the X5M?
  20. leader
  21. Interesting..looks like the US one is getting a deeper grille and diffferent lower fascia than in other markets.
  22. By the mid 80s, a lot of '70s musclecars were worn out and/or rusted out..can't imagine buyers would be comparing then-new (albeit low power) coupes to them...I remember the mid '80s G-bodies (and F-bodies) being pretty popular back in the day..
  23. As far as colors I like on cars I really like, about the only colors I see on the Chevy website I really like for the Camaro are Crystal Red, Imperial Blue and Ashen Gray. For the Charger and Challenger, my favorites are Blackberry Pearl (a very dark blue), white, Redline, and Tungsten metallic. For the Mustang, my favorites are Grabber Blue, Kona Blue, and Lava Red (very dark berry red, kind of like Royal Maroon from '68-69). I'm smitten by the Chrysler 300 in Luxury Brown Pearl...also like the Blackberry Pearl, Crystal Blue (a light silver blue), and Deep Cherry Red. Don't think I'd want a black car, it's been too hard to keep dark blue (my Jeep color) looking good. Dissapointed that no one seems to be doing greens this year..I love dark green and gold-green the Mustang had back in '05.
  24. Nice...my brother had a white and blue '58 Biscayne 2dr sedan with a 283 around 1970-71...I don't remember it because I was about a year old then..
  25. A phantom GTO based on the '80s GP make sense--after all, Olds based their '80s 442 on the Cutlass Supreme. It did always strike me as odd that Pontiac, the brand known for performance and Excitement!! didn't make more of an effort at a performance version (other than the short lived homologation special 2+2) of the GP, considering what Chevy, Buick and Olds did in the same era...
