  1. A non-sequitor of a thread, I guess
  2. Machias Seal island is a real place
  3. Cool...nothing funny (funny ha-ha or funny strange) ever seems to happen in my work. Just the infinite despair and drudgery of software development in a big bank.
  4. ? Something lost in translation?
  5. Nothing like those were ever made in kit or promo form. The Modelhaus makes a resin '90s Caprice wagon transkit that works w/ the Revell 1:25th scale Caprice police car snap kit. They also make a sweet Roadmaster wagon resin transkit as well. Promos normally don't have opening hoods or engine detail, most are curbsides. Since the '80s, the selection of promos has been very thin---MPC in the '80 ('78-80 Monte Carlo, El Caminos), AMT in the late '80s-'90s (Silverados, F-series, Rangers, Explorers) but by and large, over the last 30 years most 1:25th scale promos have been Corvettes and Camaros, with the occasional variations like Berettas, Geo Storms, '89 Taurus SHO, Olds Intrigue, Olds Aurora (from Brookfield Collectors Guild), etc.
  6. I haven't seen many of them yet, will take time to check them out. The Audi spot w/ Kenny G I saw was painfully stupid.
  7. Lincoln seems to be following the Buick direction...compact, midsize and fullsize FWD sedans, compact and large CUVs. With a bit of Cadillac in the mix w/ the Navigator.
  8. I've always liked those cars, along w/ the Eldorados of the same generation. Those '79-85 Eldos were so crisp..I esp. like the ones w/ the stainless steel roof, and also the Biarittz convertibles.
  9. Heh-heh..if you flatten the sides of the quarters and make the rear more vertical, it does have a similar rear shape to a modern decklid. I was referring to the strange butt of the CTS coupe.
  10. True..but the Eldo was a much larger car inside and out than the tiny CTS coupe. That's a sharp Eldo...always liked the Eldos and the last two generations of Sevilles..great lines, and real decklids..not a trunk lid that is five inches long and 4 feet high..

    ICE!

Maybe there is more of a slope/elevation difference between the roadway and where the nose is than the photo implies...or the car was launched over something..wild that it would end up on it's nose. I bet that driver was terrified..imagine getting out of the car when positioned like that.
  12. Never heard of a merlette, but how about 'Black Mallard'...in reference to the ducks that used to be on the logo...since the V-series is a Cadillac that really zigs..
  13. With a bed w/ a cap, you can keep the unsavory stuff separated from the nice interior...can't do that with a wagon.
  14. A black '11 Camaro SS convertible w/ Michigan plates and top up on the freeway early this morning...sweet.
  15. As they say w/ luxury cars, 'if you can't afford it new, you can't afford it used'. German luxury cars seem to degrade into money pits of pain as they get older. I'm still trying to get my sister to unload the German driveway ornaments she has now (and drives maybe 20 miles a month).
  16. I like the wood...much nicer than the vile (real or faux) carbon fiber trim that appears all too often in high performance models..
  17. Too bad they didn't go the badass hardcore route w/ the Black Diamond--make it aggro like the AMG Black Series cars..lighter materials, bigger wheels & tires, more power...like a street version of the race car.
  18. What about the rear console? They should remove the back seat, would make it more hardcore.

    ICE!

No ice or frost, but wow...was 32 when I came out this morning, and 42 at noon. Sunny, clear and very windy. Not used to highs only being in the 40s. The wind was really loud last night. Supposed to be even colder tonight.
  20. Lux Aeterna by Clint Mansell. Mansell (of Pop Will Eat Itself) is on of my favorite movie music composers..really liked his soundtrack for 'Smokin' Aces' and 'Requiem for a Dream' (which this track is from). I first discovered this track through a sample in the track 'Zoo York' off Paul Oakenfold's 'Bunkka'... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKLpJtvzlEI
  21. O Fortuna, Carmina Burana, Carl Orff. I love this dramatic, dark piece. Been used in a lot of movies and tv shows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjvqY-U9gV0&feature=related
  22. Silent Lucidity then Operation Mindcrime, Queensryche
  23. Looks to be too low in the center stack to be useful.
  24. 6 new CTS-vs in a row in front of the local Cadillac store. 3 coupes, 2 sedans, a wagon. Sweet.
