Chrysler 200 - Not Teasing Anymore
Interesting in how they avoid showing the profile.

Car Scoop: Fresh Photos of New Chrysler 200 Sporting Brand's New Grille
Interesting that no pics or info have emerged about the Avenger...I guess they have been keeping the Avenger quiet until the Charger and Durango are fully launched...

What would you do?
I have a friend in Denver that actually traded an '00 Mustang GT convertible on an SVT Focus. He enjoyed both cars for different reasons. Alas, now after marriage and 2 kids, he's been PWed and drives a Honda Oddessey.

CTS coupe interior impressions
The sunroof on the coupe is tilt only? That is lame... a sunroof should slide back into the roof..I guess I'm used to Mercedes metal sunroofs that are only useful when they are open.

CTS color question
There is a color combo I've seen on some current Acuras (RDX, TL) that would great on the CTS IMO...it's a metallic root beer brown w/ a light tan leather interior..love that color combo.

Tricks? Treats? Spots?
Yeah, in the big Grand Wagoneer...I don't think it ever used any Chrysler engines during it's length run..

Car Scoop: Fresh Photos of New Chrysler 200 Sporting Brand's New Grille
The Sebring to 200 upgrade retains the Sebring greenhouse and doors..reminiscent of how the 00-07 Taurus was an update of the 96-99. The 08/09 Taurus update was just an MCE of the 500 while the '10 Taurus had a completely new exterior and interior.

What would you do?
Keep the Mustang. I would avoid any high mileage used car like the plague unless I were going to do drive it locally a few days a month.

2011 VW Jetta SEL *Now With Pics*
I like the hood cutout for the badge...it's too bad Ford didn't use the similar European hood and fascia style for the US Fiesta...the US model's grille treatment looks cheap.

Charts to Ponder
People that work in the first two categories are consumers of #3, maybe. Being in the second category (professional and technical services) I'm finding the demand to be pretty strong even in a down period...I'm getting 10-15 emails and calls a week from recruiters, both locally and nationally...they are having trouble finding people, and one thing I'm finding encouraging is that for many contracts, they aren't looking for H1-Bs..

Tricks? Treats? Spots?
Saw a minty black '92-93 Mercedes 500E tonight...a very rare car--only about 1500 were imported to the US over 3 years. Very subtle sports sedan, not flashy like the AMG models of that era. This was a car I lusted over when I was in college..they still look great..I recognized it in the rear view mirror as was passing me, they have subtle differences from a regular 300E of that era.

Tricks? Treats? Spots?
Walking into Chipotle for lunch, saw a middle aged woman walk out of the Jenny Craig store next door and get into a Porsche...not a safe, soft Cayenne or 911 cabrio, but a screaming yellow hardcore badazzmofo 911 GT3!

Tricks? Treats? Spots?
I like the color of the Ocnblu truck. The new Camaro would look good in that color, I think.

Tricks? Treats? Spots?
Saw an absolutely goregous creampuff triple black '71-72 Mercury Monterey 2dr ht this morning. Now that is an old Mercury I'd be crazy about like the song. Only negative were the goofy '50s style wide whitewall tires w/ chrome reverse wheels and baby moon hubcaps. Ick. I'd rock it w/ narrow whitewall radials and Magnum 500s.

2011 VW Jetta SEL *Now With Pics*
Interesting beauty spot (mole) in the first pic...they didn't do the tow hook plug in body color?
-
Tricks? Treats? Spots?
I wonder if Dodge even makes them...I didn't even realize the current gen Ram was available in a regular cab until I saw one a few weeks ago. Regular cab trucks (short or long bed) are a real rare sight anymore..

Americans Want Econoboxes? SUVs Back Over 50 Percent of Vehicle Sales
Well, I have gone up in the mountains in the winter a few times. But AZ will hopefully soon be in my rear view when I make my escape for greener pastures and grayer skies..

Americans Want Econoboxes? SUVs Back Over 50 Percent of Vehicle Sales
After 16+ years of having SUVs as a daily driver, I can't see myself driving a compact car daily. Maybe a full size sedan. But I like the ground clearance, snow capability, high seating position, and interior space of an SUV. Even if it does only get 18 mpg.

Check engine light comes on....then goes off after a day
Picked it up and drove home in a downpour...seems to be running great. They replaced the crankcase sensor, CV joint boots, and rear brakes.

Check engine light comes on....then goes off after a day
DF called it w/ the crankshaft position sensor. That's apparently what it is. Shop also says I need front CV join boots (leaking) and rear brakes (95% worn)...been expecting the rear brakes, the current ones have probably 50k on them..

Americans Want Econoboxes? SUVs Back Over 50 Percent of Vehicle Sales
+1 The noise, cheap plastics, and general feeling of despair of the gray plastic interiors turn me off of most small cars...the only small car I've driven in recent years that I thought I could live with (had a nice beige and black two tone interior, lots of amenities) was a loaded Jetta rental I drove in '08..

Check engine light comes on....then goes off after a day
I should have checked the codes...I have my code reader in the car, but was too tired to think of it today..

Are Roadmasters really future classics?
I remember this project...whatever became of it..was it ever finished/

Check engine light comes on....then goes off after a day
The fun continues... came out of the office at 4:30, wouldn't start. Cranked, but no wouldn't start. Called the shop and the towing service. 45 min later the rollback truck shows up. The Jeep starts immediately, I back it up, pull up behind the tow truck, leave it running. 2 min later it shuts itself off. Won't restart. Hauled it 25 miles to the shop. Home now. Frustrated and tired. Will be back to the Benzes tommorow.
