  1. Happy B-day. Enjoy!
  2. I've debated using a sig pic again. They can take up so much space.
  3. Great sig, but that doesn't look like a '66 Mustang to me...
  4. Ahh...nah, it was funny, I had driven the Merc to the job interview--50 mile round trip--with no problems two days before the brakes failed. I probably need to get the rear brake pads on the Jeep replaced, though. Need to do a number of things to it this summer. Rob
  5. Got the bank gig, still there, 3+ months later. Painfully boring, 50 mile round trip commute, but it pays well. Had to replace the master cylinder on the Merc 500SEL. It's got 176,xxx miles (the odometer stopped at 176k last year). Don't drive it much. My sister's other Merc (the 300CE) is in the shop now--it has a huge oil leak (loses 1 quart in less than 15 min). I may drive it to Sacramento for her once it's fixed. Rob
  6. It's been my daily driver, but I've always had 1-2 other cars also. And my commute has varied wildly over the years----for several years it was about 20 miles a day, for about 2 years it was about 1 mile a day, at one point it was 140 a day for 3 months, and for the last few months it's been about 50 a day. Lived in 3 cities w/ it (Colorado Springs, Denver, Phoenix) and made a few road trips (I usually always fly unless I need to take stuff). Rob
  7. I took a couple...will upload tonight (don't have my USB cable w/ me and don't want to load via my work laptop). Rob
  8. Woo hoo! My '00 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4x4 hit 100k this morning on the way to work. Had to stop and take pics of the odo at 99,999 and 100,000. First time I've ever put that many miles on a vehicle. Bought it new in July, '00. Been very reliable. Anyone else have any mileage milestones recently? Rob
  9. I drove a Vibe rental back in early May. Who knows, that may be my last Pontiac rental car ever. Did G8s ever make it to Alamo or Avis fleets?
  10. Saw a faded flat orange '79-82 Mustang coupe on the freeway. Windows down on 100 degree day, black vinyl interior. OUCH
  11. I'll try and snap a pic tomorrow of the one at work. They also painted the silver trim at the bottom of the decklid bodycolor.
  12. Hmmm... so many to choose from. Here's some that for me have held up quite well to repeat viewings, from my DVD collection, loosely grouped. 13. Not a fan of PETA, but I really like pita bread...with hummus or with gyros. Tasty.
  14. I got a $1000 coupon and customer loyality letter from Chrysler last week. Doesn't apply to the Challenger, and the '11 GC won't be out for a while, so it's not useful for me. Rob
  15. Kind of reminds me of some friends of mine. A couple that is now 32 (she) and 38 (he)...when they married 6 years ago, she had a Focus, he had a Cherokee...they bought a Trailblazer and Rendezvous in '05, and recently upgraded to a Yukon and an Enclave for their family cars. Rob
  16. Not Olds Guy, but I hear you... I've given up on trying to find stuff at retailers like Target and Wal-Mart (except for Hot Wheels and Matchbox). The pegs always seem picked over. For Johnny Lightning, Greenlight, and M2, I buy pretty much all of mine from reputable online vendors, like these: Milezones (my favorite for JL,GL, and M2) (www.milezone.net) Evers Toy Store (www.everstoystore.com) Also a source for JL,GL and M2, as well as Revell 1:24/1:25th scale model kits Diecast Alley http://dcastalley.stores.yahoo.net/ 1Stop Diecast www.1stopdiecast.com Rob
  17. Maybe Buick can bring the 'sexy back'... get JT for an ad...
  18. Sharp...looks like it's in really clean shape..always liked those cars.
  19. I got that one recently, it's quite nice. Their Aerocoupe version so far has only been offered in chrome..would like to see them do a regular color issue.
  20. Is this the Elco you are talking about, thinking about getting one of these.. Hot Wheels Collectors site
  21. This morning, a couple oddities--- saw a semi tractor with two more tractor cabs (without their front wheels) piggybacked onto it's fifth wheel, and on the last one, there was a green Kia Rio strapped down, bumming a ride. Saw a really clean silver late 4th gen Z-28, but with chrome speed holes on the front fender and 'Type-R' and 'VTEC' badges on the rear. Wierd.
  22. I've been arguing with netizens on the Internets since first using Usenet newsgroups in 1988, so screw all you newbies.. J/K, but the Internet is a massive time sink. I need to spend more time offline. Hard to do that with Internet access everywhere (my phone, my laptops, etc). And what with ecommerce, internet banking, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin, Google reader, Google finance, etc...so much of my daily business is conducted online. Back on topic--all in all, though, these forums are generally pretty mellow and tame compared to other communities I've spent typing time in. Not much in the way of flame wars, etc. Rob
  23. Saw a white HHR panel in a local aircon sales and service livery, with ladders on the roof. Neat to see one used commercially.
  24. I tried to create a user named 'Pingas', but it never was fully approved. Rob
  25. Call it Detroit Motors. For a blunt tagline, how about "Buy our Products or Go F*ck Yourself".
