    So? It's wider..a Cadillac should be wider than a Chevy. What is your point??? The CTS was never intended to be a 3-series sized compact. It's price competitive with the 3, not size competitive. The CTS is a midsize, not remotely a 'large' car.

    No one ever said the CTS was 3-series sized. The CTS is slightly shorter than the Malibu. Your facts are invalid, you are just being argumentative.

    Why would you think it's a 'large' coupe? It's shorter than the CTS sedan, which is a midsize model. This is a relatively small coupe.

    Very interesting. I like that illustration of a 4th gen GC, the front end reminds me of the last of the 2nd gen models (2004).

    Well, the Eldo was a much bigger car...the CTS coupe is definitely NOT an Eldorado revival. It is interesting to contrast design trends and surfaces from about 18 years apart, though (since the last Eldorado dates from MY 92).

    Yes... but from what I've read, there is going to a CLC, a 4dr 'coupe' styled like a small CLS. IIRC, when the CLK replaced the E-class coupe in '96, there was a price drop relative to the W124 E-class coupe it replaced. I would expect a price jump now that they are going the other way.

    xpn looks interesting...will have to give it a try. On the computer, I've listened to Pandora a lot (not exactly internet radio, but streaming music), and Technicolor Web of Sound (www.techwebsound.com).

    Heh-heh...38 feels old some days, esp. in an industry full of punk-ass 25 yr olds that think they know everything.. ....I got an '87 Mustang GT for my 17th, bought a BMW M3 (2 yrs old) when I got my first really good paying job after grad school, bought a Jeep Grand Cherokee for my 30th. I'm torn between a practical luxury model like a CTS for my next daily driver, or a fun car like a Camaro, Mustang, Challenger..

    I don't know about posers, but I'd be interested in one... such a car (or a Challenger SRT8) would be a great midlife crisis car for me when I turn 40 in '10...

    A Z/28 w/ the CTS-v engine would be great...I can see the 3 way comparisons in the magazines now--with the Shelby G500 and Challenger SRT8. A face off of the $45k, 4000+lb pony cars!

    30 billion does seem like alot, but considering the $85 billion the government is putting into garbage like AIG... it's not much for a company that is much more significant.

    I'll have to wait until I sit in one to really judge it, but the dash doesn't impress me in these pics. But I usually like Mercs... esp. the coupes.

    Yes, since the Taurus has always been FWD, no problem with it staying that way. I'm afraid a RWD fullsize Ford styled like the Interceptor concept isn't going to happen... ideally, I'd love to see Ford have some RWD competitors for the Charger and 300C, and Lincoln a competitor the CTS, and GM have more mainstream RWD models besides the Camaro and G8, but it's not going to happen, I'm afraid.

    Yes, since Ford doesn't have Jaguar anymore (and Panther is going away), they aren't in the RWD luxury market anymore. The mainstream and near-lux market is pretty much all FWD/AWD these days anyway, unfortunately. Chrysler and now Hyundai are the last bastions of hope for mainstream RWD sedans in a world of mainstream FWD, since GM is giving up on Zeta. (better quit before I start sounding like SixtyEight Lite).

    IMHO, there are too many stations owned by Crap Channel (Clear Channel) playing the same thing over and over again. One format I'd like to hear more of, which was apparently common in the '70s, are AOR stations that play entire albums and/or obscure tracks from albums, not just the singles that have been played to death. I'd also like to hear more moderate and liberal/progressive talk radio--way too many conservatives on the air... I miss the Air America stations (haven't found one here).

    Well, it would certainly be more modern than the current DTS. And it would give Cadillac something competitive with the MKS.

    Ya, the headlights on that look like those from '90s Saturns or an Olds Calais...makes me think what a small Oldsmobile crossover might have looked like, circa 1992. The styling over all went well with the Ion and the last of the S-series, definitely looked 'Saturn'.

    Yes...I'm looking forward to seeing it in person.. I think the new Taurus will be a hit....speaking of new Fords, a saw another black MKS tonight..they are pretty sharp looking.
