  1. Ford did offer a diesel Continental and Mk VII in '84-85, though...so the question wasn't totally out there. The diesel was a 6, so it probably had totally different plugs. I went to Checkers a few months ago to buy windshield wiper blades for my Jeep and they asked me it was 4x2 or 4x4 (as if that would be relevant the wiper blades).
  2. Yeah, I don't have the tools, or a lift...trying to drop the transmission to replace a sensor is not something I'd want to attempt myself...
  3. I'm definitely not a mechanical guy much beyond checking my oil level and tire pressure, but I did buy myself a check engine light reader tool a while back, it was interesting to see what the fault codes were. But then I still had to pay a shop $400 to replace a sensor that probably cost $25.
  4. Haven't been to a dealer in years, but recently was chatting with the manager of the nearby independent Mercedes dealer/garage/restoration shop about W126 vs. W140 era S-classes, things to look for in buying one, etc...
  5. Chateau Marmont, Hollywood, Ca (delicious bacon-wrapped apples at the bar)
  6. Melange de Trois
  7. PCS--what is that unusual roadster in your sig? Don't think I've seen it before, though the wheels look familiar.
  8. Asstards yakking on their phone while trying to order at a a restaurant w/ a counter, while at the checkout line at the grocery, while in a restaurant, at the ATM, etc. HANG UP THE F*CKING PHONE and finish the task at hand.
  9. Intersections with turn lanes but no turn arrows. Very short yellow lights. Traffic speed cameras.
  10. foon (the opposite of a spork--a fork combined with a spoon).
  11. Ice sucks. I don't really mind snow much, but ice is a whole 'nother story..

+1. I'm optimistic for a better way forward for the country as a whole. Economic recovery, better foreign policies leading to respect in the world (rather the butt of jokes and hatred worldwide), the end to two unpopular, pointless wars, etc.... it's a tall order for any President, but I'm confident in my choice.

And personally, I didn't think McCain was all that bad, better than Bush, and he's been more of a moderate in the past--- I thought he was too old now for the job and I really, really couldn't stand Palin and the far-right nutters she represents. I wouldn't have voted for McCain, but I do think he would have been a better president than Bush had he been the R's nominee and winner in '00.

I think I would have been quite dissapointed had McCain/Palin won. I can't stand the conservative BS, 20 out of the last 28 years of it was enough to ruin the country, IMHO. Their failed ideology is a large part of the cause of the mess the country is in now, IMHO. I'm optimistic for postive change now. McCain would have been the same old, same old....
  16. I've never bought anything on Craigslist, but have surfed it a bit.
  17. There can never be too many brands, IMHO....I'd rather have a diversity of choices as a consumer than everything be a Toyota.
  18. Yes, I see more potential upside than downside. The alternative is a complete failure of Chrysler at this point, I'm afraid.

Heh-heh.. those crazy redstaters and their wacky ideas! They probably have their tinfoil hats on firmly now. True enough..he'd be Rush Limbaugh and Michael Savage's wet dream, I think...Ann Coulter would want to have his love child. (it seems a brutal, fascist dictator is the ideal leader for many right wingers).
  20. Years and years of focusing most of their investments on obese trucks and SUVs have caught up with GM, a big part of why they don't have money to invest in new cars these days, I think...

The right wingers are sore losers. They need to get over it. They lost. Try again next time.
  22. Your email address is your PayPal id. I've used it for years with eBay. Very easy to use, never had any problems. I've used to pay for eBay auction wins as well as to pay for items from online merchants. Much more efficient way to move money (at least from the buyers perspective) than such 20th century artifacts as 'checks' and 'money orders', IMHO.

Wooo hooo! Yes We Can! I've tiVoed the inauguration, watch it tonite at home. Though my boss in the cube next to me is watching it on CNN streaming video, so I can hear it slightly over the wall.
  24. I'm thinking of something like a Stutz Bearcat or a Model T speedster, something with a tiny round or multi-sided windshield on the column. No idea what was available in kit form, though.
  25. By the way, the highs have been about 75-80 and the lows around 40 here in Phoenix lately. Decent January weather, but about 10 degrees over normal highs (darn global climate change?). Lots of interesting cars at BJ, too many to list. I didn't really pay attention to the Saturns, though.
