  1. Congrats! Still looks sharp. Some friends put about 140k miles on a '91 2dr before they traded it on a Volvo 850 wagon back in '02.
  2. Yeah, if they stay on the 6 yr cycle, a 4th gen is due for '11. I've been really happy w/ my 2nd gen, haven't liked the interior of the 3rd gen models.
  3. I drove 6 winters in NE Ohio from '88-94 w/ RWD exclusively, an '86 LX Mustang and an '83 Caprice... I ran snow tires all the away around and a few bags of QuikCrete mix in the trunk for ballast. Got around pretty well. After moving to Michigan in '94, I got my first 4x4 SUV (Bronco II) and have had an SUV since then.
  4. With the next SRX going to a generic FWD platform, the only ones in that group I'd seriously look at would be the BMW and Merc.... if I were paying $50k for a luxury SUV, it would have to be RWD/AWD. Leave FWD for the cheap mainstream stuff...
  5. Meh..the article is from May '07. I don't think any of those vehicles have changed much since then, other than the Touareg which had a mild update (new headlights, other trivial changes). The findings are still relevant. C&D Comparo
  6. That '59 wagon is cool...here's a Buick wagon that I would mind having as a toy--'71 Estate wagon w/ the Buick road wheels.
  7. The Camry has gone through two redesigns since then, though. I would think they would have updated it since then (but since it's just a generic FWD platform, I'm not sure what they could 'update'...)
  8. Does anyone really know that? Or is it based on the current Highlander? Or does anyone but the most rabid Toyota fan really care?
  9. I just google the subject and copy the URL of interesting ones I find... the '67 Catalina 2+2 pic I have currently is an original GM pic, I think (I've seen it elsewhere, in magazines). About the Buick road wheels, Balthy can answer definitively, but they definitely had a long run...I think they started around '63-64 as a Wildcat optional wheel and ran into the '80s w/ the last of the RWD LeSabres and Electras ... I think the '80s Regal may have used them some also. I've always liked that style of wheel.
  10. I had seen pics of the exterior before, first interior pics I've seen..that centre stack is bold.
  11. Beautiful car...yellow w/ black interior works so well on many '60s GM cars, I think.
  12. Dunno....air shocks, maybe? At least it has enough clearance for driveways and curbs..
  13. That pickup is sweet!
  14. I saw a really nice '57 stepside in lt blue the other day. There are a few old trucks I like, if I ever had one as a hobby vehicle, I think a '73-80 Chevy stepside would be my choice.
  15. I like those, plus I've long been an NSX fan...I've hung out with the Colorado NSX club for road trips, track days (my best friend has a '91)...they are a friendly, fun bunch, all ages. An NSX, last generation Prelude, or previous-gen TL are probably the only Hondas I would seriously consider... As far as new models, I like the design and handling of the G37 coupe, but don't really care for the interior. I'd rather have a BMW 3 series coupe for about the same price.
  16. Ya...though I've see alot of them across the brands (BCOP) in baby blue, bright red, and white. The darker colors seem less common.
  17. Yes, or in my case, a 3lb Yorkie on my lap. Nice sunny lazy Saturday here in Phoenix. Got the windows open letting a breeze through, wearing shorts & a t-shirt with a cold Mexican beer now...
  18. I like all of those, and love Japanese home electronics...Sony, Yamaha, Panasonic, Toshiba. But I still can't get excited about most Japanese cars.
  19. Ya, I had an uncle that had a few..I remember a '71 Centurion and a '75 LeSabre that he had in the '70s when I was a kid..
  20. I love that color... was it a Pontiac exclusive? Another green I like a lot was a silver green that Chevy used heavily around '69-70...seen a lot of Impalas and Camaros in that color...there was a goregous '69 RS Camaro conv. in that color my town when I was in high school. Another goregous green GM that I remember from long ago was a beautiful '71 Buick Centurion convertible, Buick mags, dark green, white & black interior, white top..
  21. I love pineapple w/ ham (or pineapple w/ turkey ham on a kosher pizza) on a pizza occasionally.
  22. Could be...I know that I've seen a couple white 1st gen models, never seen a white 2nd gen in Co/Az/Ca. I visited a buddy of mine in Boulder, Co in when I was back home in Oct, he had a white 1st gen Prius as a commuter car a few years ago that he replaced w/ a silver 2nd gen in '05. He and his wife have an eclectic threesome in their garage--- the silver 2nd gen, his wife's green Subie Outback wagon (stereotypical Boulder car), and his new midlife crisis toy--a black Challenger SRT8.
  23. +1. It seemed to go down party lines pretty straight....my senator (Salazar D-CO) voted for it, the other senator (Allard R-CO) voted against it, as did both of the senators here (Kyl and McCain).
  24. I've talked on the phone in the car for years, usually always put the phone on speakerphone and lay it on the console, or use my bluetooth earpiece. Now texting, reading email, or surfing the web on your phone while driving, would be pretty dangerous, IMHO. When driving from Denver to Phoenix a few months ago, I was on the phone (on speakerphone) for 3 hours straight with a couple of interruptions where the phone cut out and had to call back..
