  1. Ahhh..that black 300 coupe is so hot. Over in Glendale (AZ) behind an antique store, there is a fenced in lot with a variety of older cars, incl. a '60 Imperial...white 4dr ht, windows down... it looks solid, though the interior is trashed from the AZ sun and having the windows down..been there probably 10 years at least (I've seen it there since '98 IIRC).
  2. Though $h! Butt would be more accurate.. the little ones are always crapping in their daipers.
  3. I read the article last night...full of errors, incl. they stated that in '84, Chrysler introduced the minivan and the Cherokee (AMC introduced the Cherokee then). Probably written by a 20 something that doesn't know anything about cars except for their Prius. The same issue also has a good article about the current state of SE Michigan, pretty sad. I have fond memories of my 3 years in the state back in the '90s.
  4. One I've heard a few times in recent years (don't know if it's an urban legend or not) was that a baby girl was named 'Shi Thead' pronounced 'Shah-THAYed'..
  5. I can't see that happening...I could see the Regal priced to compete with the Malibu, Aura, Milan, LTZ, TSX, Sebring, Camry. The '10 LaCrosse could theoretically compete with the Avalon, MKS, Maxima, TL... if they sell the Regal here, I could see it taking the place of the current LaCrosse (SWB Epsilon II) and the '10 LaCrosse taking the place of the Lucerne (LWB Epsilon II). Though I'd love to see Buick have a flagship Park Avenue RWD V8 model to compete with the Genesis and 300, but it's not likely given the current reality.
  6. Toyota does it...they have Toyota and Scion at the cheap end and Lexus at the high end (35k and up). The problem with moving Buick 'upmarket' is they run into Cadillac---Cadillac dealers aren't going to like having competition from Buick.
  7. That is a sweet car... one of my favorite vintages are the '69-73 Imperials (they shared a lot of their design w/ the Chryslers)... I love the huge fuselage styling..
  8. Speaking of having kids and biological clocks, I have many friends that had starter marriages in their 20s w/ no kids. They re-marry in their mid 30s to someone their age or older, and now find themselves in their late 30s w/ wives in their late 30s-early 40s trying to have their 1st kids (not easy, and often expensive, I hear).
  9. Ahhh..that explains the dialogue I heard on the drive time radio show this afternoon..they were talking about naming a kid Adolph Hitler, wondered why.. Speaking of wierd names, a professor I knew in grad school that quite to go to Microsoft named his 1st son Tristian, his second son, Tristian 2.0. A couple I worked with in Colorado decided to name all their kids names beginning w/ 'Z', so over a few years they had Zak, Zed, Zoe, and Zoltan.
  10. Pretty amusing. I'd take the M3 any day...it would be a great commuter car, I think. My old one certainly was..
  11. It was down earlier this evening with a very strange error about a domain 'pittsburgh-city.com' or something like that having expired. Wot up wit dat?
  12. I would drive a 25 yr old Mercedes before I would drive a Toyota.....wait, that's what I'm doing currently.. I hope I never devolve into such a boring induhvidual that I would drive a Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, or other FWD generic...
  13. Not necessarily, sounds like both are for MY 2010. More like trying to stay ahead of the other big league playas (Merc,Lexus,Audi).
  14. Maybe leapfrog them and offer a 16 speed!
  15. I'd love to have seen a production version of the Buick LaCrosse concept built with a modern straight 8. Or the incredible Buick Blackhawk concept..imagine a production version of that w/ a straight 8. Drool.
  16. The truth is out there.
  17. Sounds like a vast right wing conspiracy. Another group I don't trust is the religious right that dominate the politics and culture of the red states. I've long suspected the evangelicals are arming to try and overthrow the government and install a theocracy. And the military-industrial complex (Blackwater, for example--has ties to the Family Research Council, an dangerous evangelical organization) is tied into them.
  18. Continuing the post-rock electronica vibe w/ Mogwai (Mr Beast) and Goldfrapp...
  19. I read that article the other day..got homesick from the pics. I've driven the paved roads from Lake City to Telluride--via Ouray and Durango. Beautiful area...I've been of a few of the off road trails in that part of the state.
  20. I think Chevy did contemplate one...there was a cover article on Motor Trend a couple years ago about a possible Chevy 'Sting Ray'. Never came to be.
  21. The Earth is Not a Cold Dead Place by Explosions in the Sky and Dead Cities, Red Seas and Lost Ghosts by M83. In a mellow chill out atmospheric post-rock mood this morning on a cold, gray rainy day...
  22. 6:30 this morning. Dark, cold and rainy at Einstein's Bagels. Saw 3 eclectic cars--2 from the past, one from the future--- a Volvo P1800 wagon, dark colour, a light blue '81-83 Chrysler Imperial in good shape, and the first I've seen in the wild---a gray GT-R!! Very menacing and brutal looking, with huge titanium coloured wheels.
  23. Colitis (as an occasional IBS sufferer, I call it Mad Bowel Syndrome...Immodium is my friend)
  24. My friends' car was kind of greenish blue, w/ a matching cloth interior..bench seat IIRC. They had it and a '91 Grand Am 2dr, they bought them together when they graduated from college, after getting married..their first new cars. Kept both for 10 years, well over 100k on each. Alas, neither of them have GMs anymore---they have an '05 Volvo XC wagon and a '07 BMW 535Xi wagon now... (since they have 2 dogs but no kids, they need 2 wagons, I guess).
  25. Has that been a one owner car?
