  1. So? Doesn't matter... Holden is part of GM. It's not like the Vibe, which is a Toyota.
  2. Sweet.... between the 2 two car garages and the 1859 Amish barn, my family's farm in the wilds of Eastern Ohio has room for 15 cars....have had as many as 12 + a Winnebago and a John Deere there in the past.
  3. The problem is that is old GM thinking. Why does BPG have to have small high mileage vehicles? To compete against Chevy and Saturn? Let Chevy and Saturn fill those niches....GM can't have the same market niche replicated across the brands competing with each other as they have done for ages...
  4. The 9-3 is another car that I think is color sensitive...looks blah in that color, but in white or black, looks great, IMHO...
  5. I can see that. I'd be happy with that. But I'd need a 10 car garage.
  6. Exactly.. my point. V8, RWD, IRS. It's got the right hardware to a performance car. The rest are just rental cars...and GM has Chevrolet and Saturn for the FWD rental cars...Pontiac needs to be about excitement if it's going to continue to exist.
  7. Whatever...the only legit models in the Pontiac line today are the Solstice and the G8...the rest are just generics.
  8. Ok...they are chasing a tanker in a mountainous desert area...but it's supposed to be the Dominican Republic--an island in the Caribbean? Riiiiiight.. The Regal is probably a Year One clone like cars they've used in previous F&F flicks..
  9. But it's more Pontiac in spirit (RWD, V8) than a bunch of FWD 4cyl generics...
  10. They would go out of business fast w/ him in there, I'm afraid.... trying to tool up to build 16cyl RWD BOF hardtops to sell for $10,000 would put the company in the red very fast...
  11. White is not it's color, though..it think it look much better in dark colors, like the sedan does, IMHO...
  12. So what's GMs answer to Sync?
  13. Hmmm...3 brands with compact and midsize FWDs....Chevy, Pontiac, Saturn... and maybe Buick...and the differentiation being...? Sounds too much like the same old, same old.
  14. Interesting that they haven't shown any interior pics...saving it for the show debut, I suppose.
  15. Welcome back to the funhouse.
  16. Would be nice, but Cadillac probably only has 1/100th of Mercedes development budget... A hardtop with a rear and greenhouse like the last Eldorado would be great, but not going to happen. (I thought the last Eldo would have made a great hardtop...)
  17. Agreed...I think most of us that are living in <reality> appreciate modern features in a car...HVAC, AM/FM/CD/iPod integration, power everything, heated seats, 4 wheel disc brakes w/ ABS, safety features, etc. I want all the goodies. I appreciate the oldies also..fun to look at at car shows, but certainly not something I'd want to deal with everyday...
  18. Here's a pic from a few years ago in Venice..shaved head, looked fat..
  19. I can see a market for a modern, 4 cyl Caddy..Audi has such models, and Merc, BMW, Lexus have them, at least outside of the US...
  20. It's almost a hatchback like shape, but with a trunk. The shape almost reminds me of a modern interpretation of the wierd '78-80 Olds and Buick A-body coupes.
  21. Yea...that was in the '80s.... didn't see anything that fit the old 'Keys Cruiser' standards when I was down there last month. Because of the salt air and humidity, cars rusted as bad in the Keys as they did in the Rust Belt.
  22. Who knows? It's not BOF, not a hardtop, doesn't have a pushrod V8 and a carb... 68 will never accept the modern world, I'm afraid..best to just ignore his sad, delusionary rants...
  23. I'm a tech nut, I'll admit it...working in the computer software industry, I'm always interested in the Next Big Thing...the next cool gadget...and naturally, that extends to cars as well...always looking forward. The past is gone, no point in dwell on or in it..
  24. Never said I hated them...it's just the market has moved on....OHC is a necessity for premium cars in the market, perception or not..
