  1. That blue box w/ the V must be something that comes w/ the board software.. I've noticed it on a few other forums that I frequent..if I have this and one of the others both open, I see the same icon on my Mozilla tabs..
  2. I love coffee..takes 2-3 cups in the morning to get me going.. we have a pretty nice local gourmet coffee shop chain here (Peaberry Coffee) ...they have a pretty rich Brazilian coffee that I get a couple of times a week.. I enjoy spending a 1/2 hour or so relaxing at a coffee shop now and then. At home, I usually brew up some Starbucks breakfast blend. We have a Starbucks coffee bar at my office, so I get a Venti Carmel Macchiato or White Chocolate Mocha once in a while.
  3. Sounds sweet...the more I read about the CTS with this engine/tranny/suspension combo, the more I want one...
  4. I'll let people in if they use their signals... I generally, don't discriminate against brands, though if they are driving a Jeep or other Chrysler/M-B product or a BMW, I'm more inclined to let them in.. I wouldn't stop on the side of the road to help a breakdown...it's too dangerous from getting hit to who knows if the person broken down is a psycho or criminal... (esp. in a country like the US where there are so many armed nutjobs). No one has stopped for me the few times I've had a breakdown...I always take care of myself and call AAA...
  5. Not necessarily..BMW also has iDrive, which is nonsensical...
  6. HUDs are a silly novelty...how many automakers offer it? Very few... I'd rather have a regular nav system option.
  7. I solved my late '20s crisis with a 2yr old M3 back in '98.. I left grad school in '97, moved across the country, got my first good job, and a year later treated myself to a fun toy...my turning 30 crisis involved buying a Jeep. I don't know yet where my turning 40 crisis will take me in June 2010.
  8. I'm having my late '30s crisis now... about 2 1/2 years 'till I'm 40... trying to plan out the next couple of years careerwise and geographically now..
  9. No prejudice or brand loyality here...I've owned domestic (Ford, Chevy, Jeep) and European (BMW)....I'd consider domestic again (Ford, Cadillac, Jeep), and there are several models from Japanese makes I'd consider (Acura, Infiniti)...though I likely wouldn't consider Korean (Hyundai and Kia are at the cheap and nasty end of the spectrum, IMHO).
  10. Beautiful car...love that color combination.
  11. I have yet to see any.... in the Denver or Phoenix metros yet...
  12. There are 3 in my office parking lot now..all w/ temporary tags...one in bronze, one in white, and one in black..they look sweet.... several Outlooks and Acacias... nice to see some new domestics in a typical suburban office park parking lot that has plenty of Pilots, Highlanders, Rav4s, MDXs, some RXs, FXs, X5s and MLs..
  13. I hope they don't do a G8 GXP with such a grille treatment..
  14. continuing with the Aussie theme:Kookabura. Jackaroo. Kelpie.
  15. True enough... Cadillac needs to follow up with more product. They need a coupe, a 4 seat convertible, a compact sports sedan, a big league full-size luxury sedan, and a competitive SUV (the SRX has a lot of potential, but hasn't done well).
  16. I'd love to see the alphanumeric naming scheme go away for Pontiac, but don't see it happening soon...but how about something like Pontiac G8 Camina? Camina is evocative of El Camino but different..
  17. Agreed...I've driven the 1st gen CTS and STS, and they are pretty tight..
  18. The things I always search for---truth and meaning in an insane world. I know I'll never find them, but I keep on searching.. But seriously, I don't need anything for xmas.... my sister was hinting at getting me a subscription to a wine-of-the-month club, which could be fun. I'd take a Fender Telecaster, though (she has one, still learning to play it). From my mom and brother, I'll probably get DVDs.. (my brother one year got me a best of Ohio State football DVD, to rub it in since I went to Michigan and he went to Ohio State).
  19. G8 SportUte. or G8 SportBed. or G8 SUT ?
  20. ???? You're loosing it, dude...calm down. I think the complaint in this thread was the opposite...Carbiz was bemoaning that the CTS wasn't a soft, floaty old-style Cadillac. I don't think anyone in this thread said or implied the CTS was too soft. Screw Gen Y, the CTS is aimed at buyers like me...Gen Xers in their 30s that can afford $40k cars..
  21. There is definitely a market for both, though the older style soft luxury car market is shrinking, I think, compared to the performance-oriented luxury (BMW style) market. Personally, I like both types of cars for different reasons..I love the Town Car for it's old school luxo land yacht ways, but I love BMWs (and the CTS) for their style and performance...
  22. It's not a soft and squishy old style Cadillac for old people (the DTS still caters to that demographic)....it's a modern performance/luxury sports sedan...
  23. I think so...the interior looks great and the equipment list is impressive.... I think the CTS is a nice mix of sports sedan and luxury car...
  24. The Sony Cybershot is pretty nice... I'm on my second one now. I had a 2.3 MP one for years.
  25. Hardly...they may overlap in price, but are in different classes (the BMW being a premium brand, Pontiac being mainstream). Apples and oranges...
