  1. While the Tesla charging stations may not be as numerous as you might like, however, Teslas can be charged at other charging stations too, just not as fast as a Tesla SuperCharger station.
  2. Agreed... I just wish they had something in the GM stable that was more akin to the Grand Cherokee. I like the Lambdas, but they are just too mini-van for me personally. The GC is much more my cup of tea.
  3. well.... A for effort.
  4. They want a garish, overweight, fat-ass, ostentatious sedan? Didn't they already cancel Maybach as a brand?
  5. The ATS stands out in a parking lot full of BMW 320is no problem.
  6. Interesting... this could be the "family car" brand to compliment the Volvo "premium car" brand... and be just what the doctor ordered for Volvo.
  7. Sort of like how American car companies have to rely on pickups and SUVs to turn profit, we know the Cobalt, Focus, and Caliber weren't paying the bills. VW brand does really well elsewhere in sales, just not here. Profit per car on a VW globally is only like $700, not that much. I don't see Peich just retiring to Austria to drive his Veyrons, the guy is going to come back with a vengence because he is a narcissist. But that's not the case anymore. GM and Ford have learned new tricks and are putting out small cars that actually compete in their segments. Chrysler is a little bit further behind in the Dart powertrain, but the vehicle itself is a solid buy. I wonder if this move seals the fate of the VW Passat.
  8. The thing is, the "normal" Suburban can handle most of the requirements that the old 3/4 tons could. Most of the people who "needed" a Suburban 2500 10 years ago are probably finding the 1500 capable of doing everything they need today.
  9. I'll be getting a first drive in one of these in about 2 weeks.
  10. Aurora was originally supposed to be a Cadillac, but Bonneville is always a Pontiac.
  11. Apparently a number of new Fisker Karmas have been spotted in the wild, cleverly disguised as old Fisker Karmas. The cars are going back into production and these are undergoing testing, but as I understand it, the branding will eventually be different.
  12. I think I've seen ads for those handbuilt cars at the back of car magazines.... they send it do you in packages over time and you built it yourself. Much cheaper than ordering all the parts of JC Whitney individually.
  13. I really like the Regal myself. It is about as close as you can get to an American Audi without the maintenance costs. It is on our list as a possible replacement for our Encore sometime next year. There is nothing new on the horizon for the Regal, it was recently refreshed.
  14. I've driven them a few times... I still stop and watch them go by https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-E_84YVEB88
  15. No... it's lazily retro.... Mercedes has left it to age like an old gym sock tossed on the side of the street
  16. Imagine if Cadillac cobbled together a vehicle in this fashion and dared to charge $115k for it. A certain member of this board would go ape$h!.
  17. Check out the fine car fit and finish... See how they just cut out that door sill plate with a hacksaw? But it says "Mercedes-Benz" on it, so it must be the best. Check out the rubber mounting gaskets on these babies!
  18. By now, we've all heard from our resident Mercedes lover how simply FABULOUS the G-Class is and how it is so much better than anything Cadillac could ever do. So armed with my trusty camera and a press pass to one of the large auto shows in the past few months, I took documentation of the super duper high kwality of the Mercedes-Benz G-Class. Class... let's begin. Back in the late 70's, Ford dared to compare their Ford Monarch sedan to a Mercedes sedan.. I'm pretty sure Mercedes got revenge by stealing their door lock buttons. Those door lock buttons go really well with these exposed screw heads. And they're found Nearly everywhere on the vehicle If you ever need a replacement ash tray, you can conveniently pick them up in the HELP car parts section of any chain auto parts store and select Walmarts. Cup holder or basketball net? We report, you decide Door latch "A" (with two different types of exposed screw head) Fits into door catch "B"
  19. More coupes is good... but what I'd like to see is a RWD, probably Omega platform based Middle-Brother Escalade. Something that would compete directly with the Range Rover Sport. Then an Alpha Platform based Baby Escalade. It should not be a swoopy crossover. It should be upright, square, bold...... an Escalade that someone ran through the copy machine set to 2/3rds reduction.
  20. I am shocked.. SHOCKED I say, at this answer. I don't see why. Here's why I thought that (I have since looked it up, but won't reveal the answer). When Pontiac brought back Wide-Track in the late 90's on the Grand Prix, they made a big deal about it in most of their ads. The problem? They weren't really any wider than the competition. (in 1998 for example, at 61.7" in the front and 61.1" in the back, it has about the same track as the Taurus's 61.5ish and it is narrower than the Intrepid's 62.4"/62") And it was also narrower than some of it's platform mates.... the Intrigue had a wider track than the "Wide Track" Grand Prix and was less than half an inch wider than Impala/Lumina.. a difference that can be made by simply specing slightly different wheel offsets.
  21. A transversely mounted V12 would certainly be an interesting feat!
  22. they could do a light turbo on the 6.0 and get the same power results with better fuel economy.
