  1. the engines will be different I assume.... they can't sell that here with only that mill.
  2. and in theory, you can use the same pistons from the 2.0 in the 3.0 and 4.0.
  3. Sorry guys, comments got wiped out due to my error.
  4. Interesting... sounds like some Voltec and some 2-Mode-Hybrid technology combining into a single car.
  5. Keep in mind that the Cadillac El Miraj had a 4.5 liter twin-turbo V8 that produced 500 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque. Seeing as the new 3.0TT can produce 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque (133 hp/l) the El Miraj's numbers seem about 100hp and 100 lb-ft soft. My take? The horsepower number of the concept is the correct one, but Cadillac will do it with 4 liters instead of 4 and a half.
  6. Looks more Buick than the current model, but I'm still not quite sold yet.
  7. I can't decide if I like it or not. I'm leaning towards not.
  8. Does this app to any vehicle diagnostics? For example, we get a monthly report via Email from OnStar on the status of our Buick. When we get close to needing an oil change, they even email our dealership who then emails us to set up an appointment. We can check the tire pressure remotely from the app.
  9. Dodge should make an EV version of the Dart called the Colt.
  10. Sorry.. I meant to rep you up and I reped you down by accident.... I'm too dumb to use my own website. Also, I mentioned your prior issues with the Cruze diesel to a rep from Chevy. He said that if you have any such issues again that you give him a call.
  11. My impression is that this is an all new engine.
  12. Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen is known for slipping out little bits of information. Case in point was earlier today when an analyst in a Facebook group said Cadillac would axing the V8 from most of their models aside from Cadillac CTS-V and Escalade. Johan joined the discussion and went on to correct this by stating that there will be a new V8 engine that will be purpose built for Cadillac. In Johan's words, "There absolutely will be another state -of - the -art mega powerful highly efficient new 8- cylinder from Cadillac, besides the CTS- V engine. Purpose designed for Cadillac....the V8 Cadillac is alive and well today, and will be in even better shape tomorrow." Now, news of a forthcoming Cadillac V8 isn't breaking news. Johan has previously hinted at a twin-turbo V8 coming for the Cadillac CT6, but it was interesting to see Cadillac's President join in a Facebook discussion and give us more description of the engine. I contacted a Cadillac spokesman about the exchange and he pointed out such an engine will appear in "later in the second half of this decade". So look for Cadillac CT6 to gain a V8 in the 2017-2018 time frame. Source: Facebook View full article

  14. Actually, I think their motivation was different than that. I think they were looking at a way to try and recoup costs from the Volt powertrain. It wasn't a "See if it sticks..." it was a "we need it to stick".
  15. I think it has a lot to do with expectations. I personally was not disappointed with the CT6, but I'm sure there are those that were expecting an El Miraj.... so the CT6 would seem like a disappointment.
  16. GM has been moving away from 6-way power seat on everything that has MSRPs principally below $30k. I've registered my displeasure with this to the Buick people regarding the Encore and Verano.
  17. I voted for the Avenir because I think it is a bigger departure from where the brand is today. The CT6 is fantastic, don't get me wrong, but I expected the CT6 to be what it is. The Continental is nice, and it is a departure from the current Lincoln norm, however I have my doubts as to how much of it will end up in production. Just like when I get my review at work Cadillac CT6 - Meets Expectations Buick Avenir - Exceeds Expectations Lincoln Continental - Needs Improvement
  18. SMK is right that price killed the ELR, which sucks because it is a great vehicle with one of the finest interiors Cadillac makes at the moment (until the CT6 comes online... and even then it's close) I could totally see picking one of these up used in a few years for Albert if we end up moving. He'd love it.
  19. Oh, missed this. Did not not know about the BOLT or I forgot, either way. Good to hear, but checked on the price, maybe a good deal, but does it compare to the Spark? Wondering, how long is it going to take for the Spark to be available in other states? Not understanding why their limiting it to certain states, is it some kind of kick back? The Spark EV is what we call a "Compliance Car". California and Oregon (don't know about Maryland, but possibly) have passed laws that state that a certain number of each manufacturers vehicles must be zero emissions. Thus, cars like the Spark EV and Honda Fit EV are built just to be "in compliance" Chevy likely loses a bunch of money on each Spark EV, so their goal is to sell just enough of them to meet the law's requirements and not a single one more than that. The Chevy Bolt, while still just a concept, is heading to production and will be a vehicle sold globally.
  20. Wow! 373 lb-ft is really really good
  21. Yes, of course they'll be cross shopped. I just don't see one "killing" the others in the market. There are going to be a whole bunch of options very soon and I don't see any one model completely dominating the rest.
  22. It's actually about the same price as a loaded Encore. The Encore is far more luxury inside though, primarily through using nicer materials. I haven't driven a Renegade yet, but I'm betting that it is a lot louder inside and doesn't ride like the Buick out on the highway. Albert likes the look of the Renegade, but could never abide by its interior. He tried it out at the NY auto show last year. The 138hp in the Encore isn't an issue for him. It feels perky enough around town and gets him to turnpike speeds just fine. He thinks the Encore is more powerful than our 160hp CRV, but that's all in the gearing so whatever... As I said earlier... two different types of Customers.
  23. For someone who lives in a metro area with lots of public chargers, these would make a lot of sense as a city car. Getting over 50% of your car payment back in fuel savings is not to shabby. That works out to be a $56 per month car payment in this case. BV, the Spark EV is the only small Chevy that would stand a chance against an Avalon. The only one I can think of that would be closer might be the Malibu Turbo.
  24. A drag race between a 185hp bar of soap and and a 170hp bar of soap....... oh boy! that's the way to spend a friday evening!
