  1. I'd like to make the following forum consolidations: GMC Truck + Chevrolet Truck -> Chevrolet/GMC Trucks Holden + Opel/Vauxhaull -> Holden/Opel/Vauxhaull GM Merchandise Lookout -> Renamed to Merchandise Lookout and moved under C&G Social Central GM Powertrain -> Renamed Powertrain Talk and moved under C&G Tech Corner
  2. It's just suspicious to me that the death of Zeta, the birth of Omega, the first big refresh of Alpha, and the end of the current Epsilon II cars all happens right around the same time. The long and short of it is that GM can go in either direction for any car on the current platforms and not really screw up the timeline.
  3. I saw it. I didn't post it on the front page because I didn't find that Easter egg particularly newsworthy for a front page article because we don't actually see much of anything. You call it "behind", I call it "editor's prerogative". You still seem to miss the point of a community site.
  4. Those cant be dot legal!
  5. I like them, but they could end up basket cases..
  6. GM has also engineered much of the lag out. There is still some, but we're not talking 80s Saab here.
  7. Sounds like a mid-lux Park Ave then, Park Ave Ultra would have the SC3800, so I would equate that to the Northstar.
  8. And selling nearly as many Commodores as Toyota sells Corollas, with the substantial difference in price, pulls in quite a bit of money. I wouldn't be surprised if Holden made more revenue on Commodore than Toyota did on Corolla even though Corolla sold more.
  9. Really depends on the trim.
  10. eh, he just made the same guess that you did..... it's a reasonable guess, but that is no official announcement from GM there..
  11. Some additional updates to this. As I work towards getting our new look installed before the Detroit show, some changes to format might be made that don't look right in their current setting. It might be something little like a graphic that no longer lines up right. This is okay. I'm aware of these issues. The changes in format are being made for the new theme that I have installed on the site but that is not yet visible to you. As of now, we are on course for a Jan 5 release of the new site.
  12. It needs to come sooner rather than later.
  13. Ridgeline... best value for a truck? What's the value of a truck that can't haul anything?
  14. It's a reasonable guess. Additionally, since the XTS is rumored to be a One and Done car, the only other car it shares with is the current Impala. So, if Cadillac goes with Omega first then Chevrolet follows a year later with an Impala on the same platform, it would mimic the release schedule of the two current cars. Both the Cadillac XTS and Impala should have no problems running right up to 2017 or 2018... which is a familiar date
  15. see if you can just get a replacement piece on Ebay or something... if it's that bad
  16. I am taking nominations for the best cars we can't buy in the US. I am looking for one of each category, but if there aren't enough nominations for a category, I'll just drop it from the final article. Any body style that fits in the size category is fine. Current production only please. Micro Sub-Compact Compact Midsize Full Size Small SUV/CUV Midsize SUV/CUV Large SUV/CUV Truck *wildcard *in case I missed something
  17. It still makes no sense to have two RWD platforms of the same size and capability.... unless they are referring to Omega which goes above Alpha in size... I don't see a Zeta II happening.
  18. Ford wants its grille back.
  19. How much of that highway number is coming from AFM though?
  20. Florida is a one plate state too.
  21. What would the 6.3 liter produce in power and fuel economy if it's displacement were reduced to 5.0?
  22. CLA lines up more against the Verano Turbo... the Regal is a bit larger.
  23. It's already been proven. The 2005 Malibu with the 3.5 V6 4-speed auto, 200hp, 220 lb-ft @3200 rpm The 2005 Camry with the 2.4 I4 4-speed auto, 157hp, 162 lb-ft @ 4000 rpm Both rated at 23//32, and while I don't know about the Camry, I know the Malibu could beat the highway number easily. Edit: But there is no advantage to a pushrod inline engine... except, I suppose, that you could increase the stroke slightly. Pushrods have a substantial packaging advantage in V engines.
