  1. make the memory foam cushions out of soy or natural latex or you'll have warranty issues down the road...... just read discussion forums for Tempurpedics for examples of the foam breaking down quickly
  2. I really like the XTS and could drive one daily no problem... that said, I have but one complaint. The low end torque of the 3.6 just isn't sufficient for that car. I wish there was another V6 in between the base 3.6 and the 3.6TT with a Goldilocks torque rating. Somewhere around 350 lb-ft, but kick in at a lower RPM would be quite satisfactory I think.
  3. I know I'm in the minority here, but I think the GM trucks are the worst looking in their standard cab models. Ram = best, Ford = Eh, Toyota = "why's it look so pudgy!?", GM = proportions are all wrong. It's like they build the proportions for the extended or crew cab models and then shrink the cab down for the standard cab.
  4. well... at least BMW is getting their naming conventions in line.
  5. We shouldn't do V8s engines either... because my '81 only has 140hp.
  6. I wonder how much experience you have with the new Turbos then... I got 27mpg out of an Ecoboost Lincoln with AWD, I've gotten 36mpg out of a Turbo Beetle, I've gotten 51mpg out of a Turbo Cruze Eco 6-speed manual
  7. I'm not sure how much, if any, extra weight this would add... it's just using other existing systems.
  8. Still RWD. I hated the first version, especially the interior.. even though I'm looking at Dodge Magnums now... I'd have keep a flask in the door and do a shot every time I went somewhere just to get over that interior. The new ones, I love the proportions, especially from the rear. The interior is much better than the first, but it is way behind where Cadillac or even Buick is today. The current one could be livable for me.
  9. eh... it's still a bit early in the technology
  10. A Chrysler 300C with a Cadillac XTS level of detail.... but I'd prefer to keep uConnect over CUE.
  11. well... but then you'd also burn out the torque converter eventually.
  12. I'm not certain they are that far off from one.
  13. It took a looong time for the old one to grow on me... looks like I'll have to go through the same process all over again.
  14. VW is running around 30% production in diesels. If GM makes the Cruze right, they'll find the love. Mazda too.
  15. The XTS is a far better handler than the MKS Ecoboost and a universe beyond the ES. With the Magnetic ride control and AWD that can and does bias to the rear, GM can make the platform do whatever they want. You really need to drive the car aggressively like I've had the chance to, back to back with an E-Class.
  16. this is someone's daily driver!?
  17. If I'm a 28 year old shopping for a sedan and money is tight... am I going to buy the Altima which is ok looking and finances cheap or the Optima which is ok looking, finances cheap, and has a long warranty?
  18. Have you driven one of these yet? They don't at all handle like a FWD car.. and in fact is noticeably more athletic feeling than an E-class.
  19. The AWD XTS is a good drive now.. with 369 lb-ft on tap, I'm sure it will be a real hoot!
  20. On noooess!!!
  21. No.. I have one that is going to get a lot of people butthurt.... including a lot of people on this site.
  22. well... in BK's defense, timing belts do suck... (Former owner of an Olds with the 3.4 DOHC)
