  1. Something in the air since I had the same happen.
  2. Yeah, I don't buy it. I would still put up the extra money for a car with ABS. For an experienced "good" driver, ABS isn't necessary. For a young girl, it is. BTW: The estimate for the HHR came to $475. I'm sure it's in the thousands for the honda.
  3. I love how parents pick hondas because they think they are so reliable and safe. Last night a young girl couldn't stop in time on wet pavement due to not having ABS. Her brakes locked up and she ended up rear ending the HHR. Had she had the same year Cavalier she would have avoided hitting me because of having ABS. At any rate, she was going about 20 mph and did some decent damage to the honda but very little to the HHR. One of her friends pulled over to see if she was ok and upon inspecting the cars told her that if she had bought a Chevy the damage would not be so bad and with the ABS she would have stopped in time. Funny, I didn't even need to say anything. Pictures are below.
  4. Congrats, and thanks for not increasing our trade deficit.
  5. Sorry for your lose. We've had cars broken into, always in Eugene, Oregon, but never stolen. We have even left a car unlocked with a cell phone on the dash in downtown portland without it being stolen, though it was a 1996 Saturn in 1996, so who would want it.
  6. Could the Delta II & MPV be the same ones we are getting. GM keeps saying they are not going to make a different car for every part of the world under the same brand line. So this should mean that the 2010 Cobalt will be revealed and possibly available in early 2009 along with the new MPV that keeps coming up in conversation?
  7. Both parents have around 70k on the Vous' with only thing gone wrong one each (different issues each one, both minor). They have been reliable, and both parents love them.
  8. Saab brings in a different kind of customer to GM. One they would have no connection with if they didn't have Saab. Recent reports show great potential for Saab in the coming years. Maybe it wasn't the best thing to have in the 90s, but from here forward I think they could get alot out of Saab.
  9. Hopefully Buick NA with use the old names like Buick China. Especially the names that bring back pride for such a great brand.
  10. It seems as if the Buick we know of today won't be the same in 3 years. And I mean that in a good way. For once China is a positive thing for a US industry.
  11. That would be a hard argument to win. The BMW is more of a name dropping product, whereas Pontiac, well . . . Don't get me wrong the G8 is a great car, but if your wife wants it for showing off, the Pontiac just won't bring the same appeal as the BMW.
  12. Hopefully it will get better gas mileage than the current Solstice. I think that is the one thing that is killing sales.
  13. The CTS has so much more class than the G8, that I don't think the two will compete that often for customers. For Pontiac to really make a comeback they do need to start building smaller rear wheel drive "sports" sedan, coupes and such.
  14. http://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/car/600976723.html He only wishes.
  15. I know many of you will disagree with me but; this is why religion & God is needed in a society. Without it there is no basis of what is "ethical", "moral" or otherwise. With that said and on a side note; I've always said two things that I very much stand by; 1. If our country is not Christian / Jewish based, why do we only allow 1 wife? If we are, as some say, supposed to separate church and state, then why are we not allowing Mormons & Muslims to have their multiple wives? 2. This leads me to #2; if the gay community wants the laws changed regarding marriage, they should start with polygamy 1st. That would start the true breakdown of the above and be easier to push with the great influx of Muslims. Here it is guys; Like it or not, our constitution and our laws are Christian / Jewish based. This gives the general direction of what we believe to be ethical or moral.
  16. I've said it a million times. toyota is turning into GM. Customer last, making more money 1st.
  17. I got to check one out this weekend. The knobs clunk around and the overall car is not well put together. It seemed very typical toyota. And yet the media talks it up . . .
  18. 40k with our 2005 with no issues. We loved it. We got great gas mileage, but we also had a manual.
  19. Huh? EPA ratings Tahoe 4x4 with 5.3 V8 - 14/19 BMW X5 4.8 - 14/19 Mercedes ML550 - 13/18 honda pilot - 15/20 Silverado 4x4 with 5.3 V8 - 14/19 honda ridgeline - 15/20 STS V-8 - 15/24 DTS V-8 - 15/23 BMW 550i - 15/23 BMW 760il - 13/20 acura rl - 16/24 (6-cyl engine) Mercedes E550 - 15/22 Mercedes S600 - 11/17 Yeah I forgot how great of gas mileage they get. You get 1 mpg better for a truck or SUV that is 1/2 the size. Next time you might want to check the facts before you throw flames. I do understand that they use collective EPA figures, which I think is a load of crap. honda will use their credits for as long as they can get away with it because they build such low gas mileage vehicles, besides their small 4-cyl products.
  20. With the new CAFE standards . . . I doubt it.
  21. element, previous Gen civic (even honda people weren't happy with it), ridgeline . . . honda does make junk. The general public is still ok with it. When GM makes junk, the magazines, nor the general public loves to rip them on it. Don't get me wrong, the Aztek, Uplander . . . deserves what they get, but honda should also get the same. Instead their junk gets truck of the year.
  22. "Modern" models only included, as I've driven too many to list older models. Buick - Every model made. Parents have been buying from dealer for over 20 years. I drive all new income cars on my own when ever I want. Cadillac - CTS (rental car from Cadillac Dealer), SRX, DTS (rental car from Cadillac Dealer), STS (test drove at Chevy dealer), DeVille (rental car from Cadillac Dealer) Chevrolet - Every model made. The local Chevy dealer let's me drive any car I want on my own at any time on my own. GMC - See Buick. Including both diesel and gas version of the trucks. Hummer - H2 (used one at Buick Dealer mentioned above) Oldsmobile (the most important brand) - All modern versions. Everyone of them where the best GM made from the given platforms at the time. Pontiac - See Buick, though I never did drive the GTO (no real interest), or the Solstice (never had one for me to drive when I had the time to drive it) Saab - 9-2 (Saabaru - not impressed. Too noisy and cheap looking) Saturn - Astra, Ion, Aura
  23. It is a 12 year old car. I don't care who made it, it will have issues (unless it's a Roach).
