  1. It helps that Chinese auto writers are not beating up GM just for the fun of it like they do here.
  2. I think we are ready for high gas mileage, low power GM cars. I wouldn't have been apposed to getting a smaller engine in the Cobalt for better gas mileage.
  3. This might sound cheezy, but as long as I put a focus on Christ in my life all seems to work right and I'm happy.
  4. It looks very close to the show car, just like the Aura. If they keep it the same, it would be perfect.
  5. 2.2 4-cyl with a 5 speed If you checked our DIC right now you would see 41.6 mpg over 300 miles.
  6. If American makes existed; Mercury Milan If no American brands Volvo V40 (oops still American ) If only Asain I'll walk thank you
  7. Our Cobalt gets 39 mpg when I use it, 42 when my wife uses it, and 37 mpg when my friend borrows it (he is a big time lead foot driver). We've never gone under the 34 mpg mark, even when we only did in town driving. To our positive suprise, GM got the EPA gas mileage wrong by a LONG shot. We are considering an HHR. Anybody getting the same kind of gas mileage out of those?

I like the front end, I don't like that box design. It does look a little bland overall.
  9. Congrats.
  10. The back end treatment makes it not look as long as the Saturn or Buick models.
  11. Can we not go one day without someone slamming GM for their decisions? I for one think going rear wheel drive is a GREAT idea for Pontiac. Selling in bulk has not proven to help GM in the long run. Selling things that are "hot" and make a crap load of cash is the answer. Going rear wheel drive will make Pontiac stand out, and adds to the potential of Pontiac making "hot" cars.

I agree with Empowah, when is the hybrid or diesel coming out? Not that a turbo charged HHR isn't a great idea, they just need to also think green.
  13. Funny, all this toyota love seems to be creating negative repsonses. Once again, toyota is following in the foot steps of GM 30 years ago.
  14. I like living in Dundee, but the majority of Oregon is just too liberal for me. The weather here is depressing (too much rain), most people drive crap for cars and are all to willing to put down American cars, the homes are over priced, the traffic is terrible for being such a small city, and on and on. If my wife was up to it, I would move some where else like Simi Valley, CA (though we would have to have a crap load of money to pay for a home) or Castle Rock, CO (we could get 1000 more square feet of ne home and have money left over).
  15. We loved our 2002 Alero GL2.

What ever it is, it has some style to it. I like it.
  17. Not bad, but a little bland.
  18. If you note, they don't have much if any engine or transmission plants here. Thereby showing they are NOT American made products.
  19. Imagine GM getting 113% utilization of their plants. 2006 Habour Report
  20. I excited that GM has finally learned from their mistakes of the past and willing to take a dive for it. Low fleet sales and not giving into "monthly" sales is the way to do in the long run. The next couple of years will hurt, but in the end they will end up ahead of everyone else.
  21. Roach I 390k+ miles. Muffler, catalytic converter. Even water in the tank didn't stop Roach I. Roach II is no different. In 90k miles our 1998 Intrigue had 1 item go bad. At 60k miles the ABS sensor went bad and GM paid for over 90% of it. Regular maintenance for the rest. In 120k miles my brothers 1998 Silhouette had a lumbar support break. Regular maintenance for the rest. In 60k miles my Mother-in-Law has had only 1 issue with her 2002 Rendezvous. The wiper stalk went bad. In 40k miles my parents have done nothing to their 2003 Rendezvous short of regular maintenance. In 60k miles my parents did nothing to their 2000 Regal short of regular maintenance. I wish I could say the same for our most recent foreign cars in the family. Scion already rattles (only 8k miles), & the Prius has been in more than once for "issues" though my Brother won't tell me why (out of embarrassment).
  22. We are one of the few in Oregon with central AC, but it rarley gets hot enough to use it. As of yesterday we are still keeping sweaters around when we go out.
  23. I thought GM was going to convert the Ecotec shortly to E85 capability?
  24. I have a Cobalt coupe, but have little wind noise. The tires are going bad with 35,000 miles so we are getting lots of road noise. The sedan we got as a rental car once had little wind / road noise.
  25. If they want to show true high mileage vehicles with heavy abuse, they just have to look for old police cars turned taxi cab turned personal rigs. Around here it's not uncommon to find an old Caprice with over 500,000 miles on it (though Crown Vics of the same don't exist). One of our local taxi cab companies tried switching to Crown Vics once they no longer could buy Caprices. Because he had so many problems with them, he switched to Impalas after a year. For those that think if it's foreign it lasts longer think about this; Taxi's can run up to 500,000 miles before being dumped. Rarely do you see a toyota or honda used as one, because they don't last long enough with true use and abuse.
