  1. I get a pit in my stomach just looking at any Japanese vehicle. The thought of what they have done to our trade deficit and the crap they produce . . .
  2. That is a BEAUTIFUL tagline.
  3. As far as I know, no one that has answered this is the type of person any of these companies are expecting to buy their products. The better question: If you had to recommend a "crossover" to a Mom with 3 kids, which one would you recommend (use the assumption she hates minivans otherwise . . .)
  4. 1. Buick Enclave 2. Chevrolet Traverse I can't think of any that makes any sense in my mind. They all get the same gas mileage but don't have near the capability. I'm not a fan of: 1. Ford Flex - Useless sizing for carrying capability 2. Infiniti EX, Toyota Venza, Acura RDX - useless, ugly designs. And yes, I'm not a big fan of the latest Cadillac SRX (though I do find it better looking). If I wanted something that was a 5 seater with all-wheel drive I would go for the 2010 Equinox for the great gas mileage and same abilities as the mentioned without the poor gas mileage.
  5. Here is the link to part 1 of his speech to the great people at the plant.
  6. President Barack Obama, visiting a General Motors plant for the first time since his administration effectively took over the company, told autoworkers here once-mighty GM is starting to turn around. President believes in GM
  7. And there is the problem. I don't care if you, or my kids, are happy. I care that we, including my kids, do the RIGHT thing. Happiness will come from doing the right thing, not from doing things what makes you happy. Case in point: Speeding down the highway at 100+mph makes me happy, but will not bring me happiness, especially once I have killed someone or lost my license. Going a "safe & legal" speed on my way to the race way to drive a vehicle 100+mph will bring me happiness. I believe: we need to stop caring if our kids our happy, and start caring about our kids doing the right thing. I do feel bad for the kid being blamed for something he most likely can't even remember, but I do hope that the other kids take a lesson from it. DON'T DRINK WHEN YOU ARE UNDERAGE! DON'T HAVE SEX UNTIL YOU ARE IN A "COMMITTED" RELATIONSHIP (and old enough to accept the consequences of your action)! Either of those alone are a recipe for disaster, when you put them together you are just guaranteeing trouble.
  8. I'm with you 100%. Hopefully at the cost of honda, toyota, nissan . . .
  9. For the past 5 years, I've been saying toyota is going the way of the old GM. I've enjoyed the start of the fall and will enjoy the upcoming total free fall. Remember: At first people still bought and believed in GM products.
  10. I'm sorry to hear of the loss and do hope you start feeling better soon. How fast was the Explorer going when it hit you?
  11. Volvo= 30k or less Tahoe = Not sure haven't needed any 1998 Intrigue = 90k (yes, 90k) 2002 Alero = 25k to 30k 2005 Cobalt = Never needed it in the 45k we had it 2006 HHR = Never needed it in the 45k we had it (though the rotors warped at 20k)
  12. I wonder what toyota's sales #s are, especially in Asia. How does this compare to Ford?
  13. It's a good looking car in person. I was trying to look at it with my Mom when the salesperson at Kendall Chevrolet, in Eugene, Oregon, yelled at us and told us to leave the lot because I wanted a few minutes to look at it before he hounded us. KENDALL CHEVROLET IN EUGENE OREGON needs to have their GM dealership pulled. My parents bought their car from Loren Berg, which is 100 miles away, just so they could avoid Kendall and their bad service.
  14. Try wax - Not so bad, and easy to keep up. By clearing out extra hair, but not eliminating it, you won't look like you are aging as quickly as others.
  15. So does this open the door to GM changing their name?
  16. My local Chevy dealer is starved of product, and they got approved by GM (near perfect customer service scores). They have no Suburbans or Camaros (as expected), 2 weeks supply of Silverados, Tahoes, and Traverses, 1 month of Malibus, less than 2 months of Cobalts as well as HHRs and 1 year+ worth Aveos (they sell less than 1 every 3 months). I was told the most dealers in the Northwest have run out of GMTs. GMTs are SO hot, they have resorted to trading Camaros for the trucks (bigger profits on trucks). Having little to nothing to sell doesn't help these numbers any. The Chevy lots all over Portland are looking empty.
  17. Rain? Heck living in the great Northwest, one would expect rain when fixing the car, going for a walk, planning a day at the beach, during 4th of July . . . I did have a brake line snap in the snow one time, but I never did try and fix it. We just drove home VERY carefully.
  18. 1985 Volvo 765 Turbo & 2002 Alero GL2 The Alero, especially with the GL2, was a surprisingly great handling car.
  19. I love it! It's about time Buick started having some fun and showed some youth.
  20. I want my money back. Whether you like what GM has done in the past or that our government has bailed them out, the fact remains they have our tax dollars. The only way we are going to get it back is by supporting them. PLEASE DON'T BE STUPID ENOUGH TO THROW YOUR TAX DOLLARS AWAY!! Atleast "buy" GM, or Chrysler, until we get our money back.
  21. Esquire & GQ do not show those items as "in". While getting work clothes at Nordstroms last week, I did not see any of what you mentioned, so I am going to go with; people got it at the Good Will as a way to save.
  22. I like it, alot. The big question: Will we see it as a Buick?
