  1. Chris, Nice job! It definitely needs portholes and some more chrome. How did security react when they spotted you? Also, will we see more pictures of this car?

  3. smk aka "debbie downer" is back. He needs to ask his parents to let him out for a while and he can see that the Enclave is a class leader. Dropping a brand doesn't help Chevy. It just hurts GM. Buick is the highest ranked GM brand in quality. #1 tied with Lexus. Enclave sales are growing, and the vehicle is flying off lots.
  4. From today's Detroit Free Press Meanwhile, GM has decided to add models to its Buick brand Vice Chairman Bob Lutz said. Fuelled by the success of Buick’s new Enclave SUV and strong showings in customer satisfaction and quality surveys, “there’s now a consensus within GM that Buick is alive and well and can appeal to young people,” Lutz said. Buick was widely considered to be a candidate for elimination just a couple of years ago.
  5. A dealer who I know told me he and other dealers went nuts over the Riviera and asked GM to "make it happen." I'm not sure how much influence they have, but if they killed the Park Avenue from China maybe they can get the Riviera.
  6. Heard a rumor that next year GM will unveil 3 new models for Buick: 1. the new 2010 LaCrosse/Regal 2. a Riviera production car 3. a smaller sedan
  7. read between the lines...can you see 2009 Riviera?!?
  8. unfortunately i am not a subrscriber, i was hoping someone out there is and knows something about the article, but the headline is encouraging
  9. There is an article in autonews.com today about that.
  10. When will we see the next Buicks? Detroit in January? What will it be? Any good knowledgable inside info?
  11. I saw an '08 LaCrosse and they do look much better. The red looked more vibrant. Personally, I feel all LaCrosses should have portholes, not just the Supers. After seeing the new Enclave, I'm really excited about the next LaCrosse/Regal. It's going to be beautiful, I just have a feeling. Buick really needs a convertible, though. It's been a long drought (early 90s Reatta) Buick was just named most dependable, so GM should run with that crown and offer a coupe/convertible.
  12. GM is talking about this on the gm fastlane blog
  13. GM needs to put this in ads, pronto.
  14. check out gminsidenews.com smk4565 has an obsession with hating Buick. scores of posts railing on Buick. he just found a new site to repeatedly say "kill buick" over and over again. get ready, it's gonna get real tiring and at times nonsensical. it would be great if he offered real suggestions for buick. but rather than accept the fact buick is actually a growing brand internationally and has the best quality ratings of any gm brand and a great heritage, he just bashes the brand every chance he gets.
  15. The name Excelle has got to go. I think of the 80s Hyundai Excel. Of all the names in Buick's glorious past, they can come up with a better name. The Riviera is in all likelihood a go. I read somewhere Buick in China wants to make a big splash for the 2008 Olympics. This would do it. Portholes. They must be on all Buicks. It is a distinctive feature that only Buick and Maserati share.

  17. I've always felt better than BPG a marriage of Saab, Saturn and Buick would have worked better. They could help each other. Saturn and Saab have younger buyers, Buick has older ones. Get them together in the showroom. Saab has horrible dependability, Buick outstanding according to JD Power. Buick could really help Saab by association. Both Saab and Saturn need more dealers, and Buick has plenty.
  18. A better question is why is Saturn getting one? Saturn is supposed to be small, inexpensive, cars. Does a 40K 8 passenger crossover fit the bill? Buick definitely needs the Enclave. For many GMC means truck, a Cadillac SUV means Sopranos or rappers, and Chevy is the everyman's cheaper vehicle. Buick consistently outranks all GM brands in quality and the Enclave reflects Buick's styling heritage nicely and the Enclave competes squarely with Acura and Lexus.

  20. I was on business in Hartford, CT today and spotted about a dozen Enclaves parked together outside a hotel. They had special Travelers Championship stickers on them and they were beautiful. I saw blue, white and silver. Wish I had a camera.
  21. I guess that silver in the pictures is platinum?

  23. Where was this spotted?
  24. It's not much but here's what Buick GM Steve Shannon said yesterday Shannon admitted that he'd like to see a return of the Riviera nameplate on a "halo" model based on the popular Velite concept car of 2004 (pictured above), but that is a low priority at the moment.
