  1. I too have tons & tons & tons of $h!. "Car Junk" for lack of a better term. Peter Egan once said that one of the the true signs of an Automotive Enthusiast is a person who owns car parts to vehicles which he has never owned, does not currently own and has no plans of buying in the immediate future. I've got more hubcaps, emblems, license plates & other random car parts than I can fit in a regular sized garage. Thank God we found a rental that comes wiht a huge barn so all my crap can stay. I recently acquired a rotor (as in wankel) out of a Mazda RX2 wagon at the infamous "outdoor car museum" & XP hooked me up with a very cool all aluminum 1/4" thick copper gasket, piston & rod out of some top fuel dragster or whatever. I've also still have a bunch of random car parts off my now sold '68 Camaro.
  2. The black & gold T/A SE is my current favorite. A hardtop version of the 2nd gen styling is a winning combo IMHO. While Camino is probably right about no immediate plans for a 5th gen. 'Bird-TA I'll bet my left nut a few kit car Firebirds like the ones I posted here will turn up once the 5th gen. Camaro hits the showroom floors in 2009.
  3. I'm sick to death of crossovers & car based SUVs. If they NEVER made another one there would still be more than enough of the damn things for seven lifetimes.
  4. No red [x] here but I have noticed C&G has been down a LOT in the past week. I lost a few trivia posts and had to retype them which pissed me off.
  5. The 3rd answer is incorrect Fly.
  6. There's not enough anger management in the world to make me want to buy a 2006 Honda effin' Civic that is advertized using a quote from our great nation's Declaration of Independence. Sorry but it's insulting!
  7. Yellow Dart scores another one. Because Italian cars have to be stupiudly complicated & overly complex in their design & construction. Here at the Tight Whips Clubhouse we make fun of Italian cars all the time... Like if there was a Haynes Manual for 1980s era Ferraris it would read somethig like this: REMOVING, INSPECTING & REPLACING AIR FILTER 1. Unbolt rear subframe 2. Remove left front blinker bulb 3. Drop engine cradle & exhaust 4. Dissasemble rear suspension 5. Grind off tac-welds off on 1/4 panel seams 6. Remove 1/4 panel skins & remove engine compartment cover 7. Remove negative cable off battery 8. Unfasten fuse box cover 9. Remove transmission (you'll need a 11.75mm octagontal wrench) 10. Open up side access cover on Transmission 11. Unlock access panell behind clutch & remove air cleaner 12. Insert new filter element in place 13. Reverse Process and reassemble car ------------- Relax... I'm only being serious. http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...showtopic=11447
  8. In the next few weeks I'm going to post 59 different trivia questions of all different forms on C&G. Multiple choice, photo identification, photo match up & even some true or false. Some questions will be multiple part and others a simple one word answer. At the end of the 59 individual trivia thread questions all the winners will be added up and a trophy will be mailed via the USPS to the over all winner of the first annual Tight Whips Trivia Trophy. Best of luck to all, I encourage everyone to participate. -------------------- Score so far: Fly: 6 Yellow_Dart: 3 OldsGuy: 2 WMJ: 2 Chevelle7.4L: 1 American_Revolution2005: 1 T.W.T.T. Thread #16 Pop Quiz: 1. What was the last year of the hardtop Buick Riviera? ....& RWD Riviera? & what was the last year of a longitudinally mounted V8 Riviera? 2. What year was the last year of BOF construction or the Imperial? What was the first year of the 440 motor? 3. Name the manufacturer: They went out of business before WWII was over & their last car was basically a rebadged Cord with a different nose. This manufacturer did not make any cars in 1937. 4. What late 1970s car has the following specifications? Front engined, RWD, 219 horsepower 90-degree V8 as the standard motor, Length: 178.1", Width: 74.4" and two transmission choices: a 5-speed manual & 3-speed automatic. 5. Name the manufacturer: In 1969 they made the first 1/2 ton compact pickup, in 1975 they made the first long bed compact truck & in 1977 the first extended-cab compact truck.
  9. Did I ever mention how much I hate Honda? I say we sell Cadillacs in Japan with a commercial showing an animation of the rising sun as a Cadillac STS-V cuts up some mountain roads with Mt. Fugi in the background and a voice over talks about how the new Cadillac lineup is more agile, balanced & therapeutic than a Feng-Shui garden. Then at the end we show an Atom bomb going off.
  10. What am I looking at? I don't 'habla espaniol' http://automobiles.honda.com/images/2006/c...en/panorama.swf
  11. Wonder if it will be like the Matrix or Bad Boys II where the majority of the vehicles that get a cameo are GM... I loved the CTS & EXT in Matrix Reloaded and the Cien in The Island. Any positive exposure in the movies for GM is good at this point.

  13. I'll give it to you AR_05 since you were the first one to get the Avions-Voisin & the 1-of-1 coach built 1930 Daimler V12. I'll have a new question posted after I grab some lunch.
  14. There's PLENTY of white trash driving VWs around here. Mk.II & Mk.III Golfs & Jettas are abundant and cheap just like IROC-Zs & therefore plenty of them are driven by poor white people, usually wiht 20% of the body panels under bondo/primer.
  15. I know it's just a quick $0.99 photochop but I still need to go take a cold shower. This thing is one of the most exciting future products since the 4th gen. F-body.!

  17. Kick em while they're up kick em while they're down. Any way to get rid of these dirty fighters is to fight fire with fire.

    OMFG

Oh dear lord... wow. So for like 0.25 sec. I thought there might be a tiny bit of redeming value in this car when I saw the 4.6 liter turbo. Here I'm thinking if this guy managed to stuff a tubocharged Northstar into this Buick then at least he's got some mechanical ability but as I should have assumed... the auction states that the car has the stock 3800. So it is basically the domestic version of a "Cheap-Tech" powered Honda from the late 80s with V-TECH Si-R Mugen emblems. What a freekin' tool. "I love my wife"
  19. Holy cow... except for the fact that I had hubcaps instead of rims that is EXACTLY my old car. Even the same color combo inside & out as well as that semi-cool horse-shoe E-brake lever. Notice, not in the photos but when you pop the hood, that the NA 2.0L 4 cylinder still kept the 1/4 notch in the valvecover to accomodate the turbo ducting in the GT model. (no, really) One problem that has not been mentioned yet in this thread: these cars suffer from 2nd gen. F-body style door sag. The 2 door models have like 120lbs. of door on a hinge set up to accomodate 40lbs.
  20. Great effort Camino. You're right about the Doozie of course. The top one is not a Bugatti Royale or any other Bugatti & the bottom one is not a Citroen allthough you got the country of origin correct on the last (bottom) one. This seems to be a bit too hard so here's two hints: The top one is not a Jaguar but it does have ties to Jaguar in a three degrees of separation kind of way. It's IMO one of the most gorgeous British cars ever... one of one, coachbuilt. Now as far as the bottom one, it's got ties to WWI Aircraft & the car is currently in the collection of the Cussler Museum. That makes it easy for anyone willing to spend 27 sec. or so on Google or AltaVista.
  21. Truth in advertizing. 1993 EAGLE TALON STREET RACER, FAST & FURIOUS WANNABE CAR FOR THE KID THAT HAS EVERYTHING BUT A FUNCTIONING BRAIN, PERFECT FOR THOSE DATES WITH BIG GIRLS WEARING TIGHT CLOTHES FOR THAT 10LBS OF CRAP IN A 5LB BAG LOOK. R U TEEN ENOUGH TO DRIVE THIS 1? GET IN HERE WITH YOUR STEPDADS $ 2 wheel drive - Front. This car makes me want to drive over it with a jacked up C/K.
  22. Toyota Freudian Slip? http://www.goyk.com/video.asp?path=1679
  23. Very cool... I'm just in awe of these cars. They look so good in traffic next to all the POS jelly-bean FWD sedans that litter the roads these days.
  24. That I will agree with... GM's V6s seem to always be less than 3/4s of an LS1 V8 or even 5.3.
  25. Moltar: I think CARBIZ did a god job of explaining my rationale. As far as FWD-vs-RWD... well I think FWD is a plague unleashed upon us by the idiotic masses, bean counters & people who are so damn spooked by snow they piss their pants when more than 3" are on the ground and they have to walk to their mailbox. I've driven through snow in RWD cars that technically should not be able to negotiate snow at all and I've driven them with 90% bald tires... the times I got stuck it was as a result of my stupidity or cockyness... not the car's drivewheels. As far as the Skylark comparison... I was just making the rear tail light observation. Compare the butts.
