If you're talking about the 1981 model, I guess you're right. The 1989 TTA was NOT just a Firebird with a turbo bolted on. Just like Camino said... calling the 1989 TTA a trim package is very erroneous. Half the damn car was re-engineered. Just like in the GNX to Regal comparison these cars were modified in many different ways. The TTA isd still the fastest Trans AM ever and it's also the only pace car ever (at least up to 1989) that needed NO modification for Pace car duty. I mean no power/suspension brake work, just the light bar & decals.

How about if it was the stapler guy from Office Space?

What would a 1970 Studebaker look like??
Sixty8panther replied to avant1963's topic in Automotive Trivia
I was thinking our good friend Ralph "Safety Nazi" Nader was probably somehow responsible for the bumper height thing. Figure 10. 12. & 13. are awsome... the Super-thick-C-pillar wagon is probably the ugliest but even that would be cool to see versus ANOTHER Falcon or Valiant. Fig. 5-9 look like a half-assed attempt at a restyle. This car would heve been a 1967 MY and yet it resembles a 1961 Chevy II more than anything. I know that $ was the issue & something would have been better than nothing. Thanks for Sharing. -
You are so ready for another Camry. WMJ: Sex over the phone...

In the next few weeks I'm going to post 59 different trivia questions of all different forms on C&G. Multiple choice, photo identification, photo match up & even some true or false. Some questions will be multiple part and others a simple one word answer. At the end of the 59 individual trivia thread questions all the winners will be added up and a trophy will be mailed via the USPS to the over all winner of the first annual Tight Whips Trivia Trophy. Best of luck to all, I encourage everyone to participate. -------------------- Score so far: Fly: 8 Yellow_Dart: 5 WMJ: 3 OldsGuy: 2 Chevelle7.4L: 1 American_Revolution2005: 1 Balthazar: 1 T.W.T.T. Thread #22 Name this vehicle. - 4 valves per cylinder (DOHC) - 180 horsepower - Manual & automatic available. - Unorthodox door handle - Name of motor redundant

I saw a wicked sexy little MILF in a G6-GT-coupe on Rt.95 today. She was blonde & not too skinny... so pretty much exactly my taste. Somehow she made the G6 look a lot more attractive.

The Top-Ten Best Will Ferrel SNL Skits of All Time
Sixty8panther replied to Turbojett's topic in The Lounge
Neil Diamond should have been #1. That's like the 384th time I've seen that skit. Never gets old. -
I hope you don't tell HER that.

Yeah... my parent's have that ridiculous work ethic. They don't EVER stop. My dad has been working saturday & sunday mornings, on top of his mon-fri 40 hours as of late & his job is wicked stressfull. Mom works two jobs and they still take Sofia on the weekends as well as fixing/renovating their house three times a month. Don't burn yourself out Balthazar... and definatelly don't forget you have just about 2 years to get that WQ59B on the road for the Anniversary of the '59s introduction. I think that's my new deadline to buy one BTW. September of 1958 they would have been tearing down the brown paper off the windows of Buick dealers all over the USA and the public would have gotten their first glance at one of the most gorgeous & elegant cars in all human history as well as the most radical redesign in Buick's history. On the 50th anniversary of that event you should be making people in Camrys, Scions & Acuras nervous as you pilot your 455 powered Delta wing down the road in a rumble of high compression & true duals. Just a friendly reminder.

Welcome back buddy. You missed a lot and at the same time nothing at all... All the same stuff. Except Mute is no longer with us. Don't worry he didn't die he's just not going to be posting any more, there's a whole thread about it. Check out the newest T1G#+ Wh!P$ competition though: http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...topic=11543&hl= My Super 88 is fantastic, thank you for asking. How's your ride?

Those FCXes would look outdated in a 1989 Road & Track.

Thread #20 This car was designed by the same German who penned the Datsun 240Z and some Studebaker products. He had a hand in designing the Porsche 911 and the Toyota 2000GT Coupe. A famous American celebrity bought one of these cars & then gifted it a few years later to an actress who kept it for about 20 years. In the late 1990s it sold at Barrett Jackson for about a third of a Million dollars. Name the designer, the car & the famous celebrity.

Unless the gear ratio is about ten times lower than the cars that run the Bonneville Salt Lake Flats.

For the record I have decided to give Trophies to at least the top five contestants if not everyone who gets at least one question right. The trophies will be 'automotive' in nature but don't expect something conventional or 14K gold either. Anyone who can appreciate the humor in T!G#+ W#1P$ will like them.

Disgusting.

Where was this article and what time frame? Are we talking just C&G...? WSJ? R&T? NewsWeek? Time? MT?

Firebird... or perhaps GP.

I forgot about the Tempest-based GTO's dash... Until I see the GXP's dash in person I will not pass judgement but on the website it does not look all that great in terms of layout & use of the faux-brushed-aluminum.

Thread #19 This was a very popular model year for this particular American car. It was one of only three years this car had this interesting headlight arrangement. 79.7% of the years production consisted of hardtops while only a small number got the 4.33 rear end gear ratio. Buyers also had their choice of three different blue colors; Montreaux Blue, Tyrol Blue or Fathom Blue.
