  1. What? Holy cow, I ahev NEVER heard of this thing. Not even a mention. But then again I don;t live in California. From what Google is telling me thouhg this was never BUILT by GM. It's some sort of a conversion kit and in either case it's a ckfking electric vehicle. So your point Hudson is completely mute. It's like me making fun on the Insight's skinny tires in a thread about Corvettes and Porsches.... the car is a hybrid and it's set up completely different than your standard car, the skinny tires have a function. (low rolling resistance, low drag coefficient etc.) http://premium1.uploadit.org/B17a1vtec//00InsightWheel.jpg Stick to the topic, pickup trucks not elecrtic or hybrid vehicles. Your whlole point was an apples to Ornages comparison. The VW p/u, Dodge Rampage, Honda Ridgeline etc. have no hybrid/electric technology/excuse.
  2. AS far as the Media it's the back-handed complements that bug me the most: It's like the typical writeup on any great GM vehicle HAS to include a side note about how it's unexpected and an anomole. "Wow, this Z06 is such an incredible Corvette, who knew a brand taht makes such useless and decrepid cars as Cavaliers and Trackers could make something that doesn't suck" --- or --- "Refinement, style and class... the new STS has it all and makes for a great vehicle, amazing considering the kind of cars Cadillac was making just a few short years ago. The new DTS, aimed at the Geriatric crowd is the only other Cadillac that's worth it's asking price." we've all seen them. <_<
  3. What is up with all these GM-haters on this board!
  4. Cool, you lucky bastard. :P
  5. Well, let's just put it this way. If GM says a car has X-amount of Horsepower of a truck can tow this or that much, you can be sure that it's dead on, if not underestimated. They're very straightforward in their ads and usually very factual in their brochures versus a lot of otehr car makers... esp. companies like Toyopta & Honda. They think they're God's gift to the automotive world and therefore act like facts are irrelevant. It's a Camry *angels singing* YOU JUST KNOW its the best car ever made! Look at the Toyota emblem on the hood... it says it all. <_<
  6. First off, in the looks department this can't even hold a candle to the 1993-97 McLaren F1... Second it is very unoriginal. I see Puegeot headlights & a Ferrari 360 greenhouse on a Boxer like body. Now as far as this 500bhp engine.... what's it based on? Not Ford I hope.
  7. I've experimented wiht some odd combinations. 1/2 Coke 1/2 Dr.Pepper 1/2 Sprite 1/2 Mountain Dew 1/3 Mountain Dew 1/3 Sprite 1/3 Orange 1/3
  8. Still weird looking but do I see a true (pillarless) hardtop?
  9. I love the FX35/45 but I do not like this at all.
  10. First off: Variance, love the new Avatar. Second: Hypothetically speaking, if I backed over M. Moore with my Coupe Deville and then accidentaly jamed an icepick into his throat to make sure he was dead (I mean, uh... to check his pulse, yeah that's it) do you think I would get arrested or would the cops just tell me to drive straight home and wash the blood off my hands while they drop the body off the bridge? Just a hypothetical question.
  11. WOW! Stunning. And the car's not bad either. :P Welcome to the crazy world that is C&G. 270HP out of a 2.3 liter 4-cylinder engine is pretty darn good, at 400 you'll have to start beefing up a lot of components. I can't imagine the stock trans and axles will handel 400hp. Anyway, thanks for the pics. and once again, WELCOME! :) - Silvester EDIT* re-read you last post about hi-perf. trans. nevermind.
  12. Some decnet styling for a cute-ute.
  13. Ravishing, Brutally Sexy, Awsome, SuperSporty... words fail me. This this is da BOMB!
  14. Cool, I would have thought the Toaster was invented in the 20s or 30s more usefull things like the Radio & iron. WEl at least the phone and lightbulb beat it. On a related note, this is the toasted rear end in my '68 Camaro about 16 months ago. now it's out of the car... a buddy wiht a '67 sold me his original rear for $100. :) Inspecting the loose parts in an old B&M tranny pan. Lots of mangled metal. About a month lafter I installed the new rear end I TOASTED 2nd gear in my $100 junkyard TH350 trans. I never learn.
  15. Cmattson: Don't forget the lacksedasical and apathetic layout that resembles an interior on a Koran car from the 1990s.
  16. This is a high quality interior? WTF is there 17 differetn shades of gray plastic? Toyoguy: I like the new IS350 signature, make it bigger. :)
  17. Listen you llittle F%$#ING Punk, I was Born in 1979, do the math. I have worked as a Salesman at several GM dealers and have driven all kinds of cars & trucks of every description. Hundreds of cars & trucks. I've owned dozens of beaters over the years but I've also driven some really fine semi-exotic cars that I'll never afford to buy. You have 5 post on C&G, four of them being in THIS thread. Before you start attacking people get a lay of the land. You may be older than me but I've been around the block a few times. I've driven all this so called superior junk from Honda & Acura. The S2000, Civic Si, Acura RSX, they're all pretty unappealing to me. That's my opinion, don't try to put me down, this did nit get personal until you had to get involved. And BTW: you mention in one of your posts how inferior GM's interiros are.... and how (and I quote) DId you even look at the Ridgeline's interiro before you bought it? Seriously? It's got to be one of the most gross interiros of MY 2005. Anyway please don't make things personal. You don;t respect my oppinion? Great. Beat a dead horse but don't try to tell me I'm ignorant or a snot nosed brat. http://www.cheersandgears.com/forums/index...sult_type=posts
  18. Yup, I'm with aaaantoine on this one. THe Lexus IS would have made a much better choice. As would have the Solstice and new Impala. (as much as I hate the Impala)
  19. NO effin way brother. An Invicta is a sleek, low, wide, loooong car wiht a sexy V8 under the hood. Like a Nailhead powered '59 bubbletop. Invicta was "the most spirited buick". Invicta was a more midline model when LeSabre was the base car. Invicta is NOT some rinky-dink POS Crossover Van/SUV that's here today and gone tomorrow. <_<
  20. Guess I should have put a smiley face on it the third time. :P I was being fescious. (sp?)
  21. *sigh* Another watered down, day late & dollar short GM car with a new and exciting name. <_<
  22. Gross.... absolutely TERRIBLE! That greenhouse is just disgustingly un-CAdillac like. Looks like a KIa for God's sake. :puke:
  23. That's why they make Chocolate & Vanilla. If you hate retro then get a GTO, I for one love the GTO but can't wait to buy a retro '69 Camaro. So there. :)
  24. Remember when I posted over half a dozen of articles like this? C&D and MT used the words Retro IIRC. The word nostalgic is also used often to describe the '94 & '99 restyles. Review of the 2005 Stang describing the '94 Mustang as retro. http://www.epinions.com/content_196980936324
  25. BV: I proved to you using about seven different articles form 1993/1994 that the redesigned 94 Mustang WAS INDEED considered retro. It was considered retro by the design staff, FoMoCo, the Media & even the public. Grille with the Pony in a coral Side Scoops in the doors Bar tail lights Semi-Fast back Green-house Creased fenders with wide rear quarters Saying the Beetle is the first Retro car that started the trend is also 100%inaccurate since the Prowler came out a year earlier.
