  1. Umm, yikes yo say the least. I suppose if the detailing could be worked out, then maybe this could do it, but as that Motor Trend issue shows it, it's rather offensive.
  2. Totally awesome. Coming up next- The Saturn Sky Redline Nothing Else Compares!
  3. Oh, that Opel design is so awesome! I want one!
  4. I don't dig yellow, but mmm, delicious!!!!!
  5. I'm 19 and think the Lucerne (especially that fanny of its) is very nice looking. It might be a bit of bias since my first car was a Buick Skyhawk, but I find the Lucerne to be the best looking Buick in over a decade. The only option I really feel the Lucerne is missing are the high-intensity discharge headlamps. If I had the money, I'd probably get one. That's saying a lot considering I am a big Chrysler fan and the existence of the awesome 300C.
  6. SAAB is technically known for hatchbacks, right? Opel has a wagon, sedan, and a hatch version of the Vectra, right? I feel SAAB should have: The "Audi A3 Competitor": 9-2 3-Door Hatch 9-2 5-Door Hatch The "A4 Competitor": 9-3 Sports Sedan 9-3 Convertible 9-3 Sports Wagon (SportCombi) 9-3 3-Door Hatch 9-3 5-Door Hatch The "A6 Competitor" 9-5 Sports Sedan 9-5 Sports Wagon (SportCombi) 9-5 5-Door Hatch The "TT Competitor" Sonnet (9-1 perhaps?) The "Q5 Competitor" 9-6X The "Q7 Competitor" 9-7X And maybe for the ultimate flagship: 9-8/9-9 (Most likely rear drive (say it isn't so, it's a SAAB!)) And add all-wheel-drive as an option to all models across the board, with exceptions being certain trim levels such as the base Linear. Just the crazy ramblings of someone thinking how they would like SAAB supposing it could be done, and done profitably. -Pie in the Sky sort of thing-
  7. Right. Toyota seems to be having more recalls and quality problems the more they expand. I suppose that to be number one is both a blessing and a curse. To know that your vehicles are the preferred ones on the market and the profits that are technically coming in to further development and quality of the next generation must seem tantalizing. However, the bigger you are, I believe that it would be harder to keep a close eye over the entire Octopus as it expands and writhes throughout the world. It would be overwhelming.
  8. Awesome! Somebody finally recognized that the Civic isn't all that great! Or attractive for that matter... :P Even though I am not an Asian auto fan, I still feel that the 3 is the best compact car around. It's stylish, has the moves, and a great interior plus amazing options (at least considered for U.S. market vehicles) like the Xenon headlamps. The dash plastics are matte and soft to the touch. I would take a Cobalt, Neon, or Focus in preference due to brand loyalty. Sigh. I wish the Neon had been that great, lol.
  9. Indeed. These next cloud cars had better be great. Most of Chrysler's sales would theoretically be from the cars in this group. It all depends.
  10. Still ugly. But, as long as there is a shared platform and profit can be made by milking the hell out of it, well, it works. The Mercedes-Benz R-Class is, after all, a glorified minivan sans sliding doors. The R-Class shares its platform with the M-Class and the new G-Class too, yes? The Chrysler Pacifica is another segment-busting vehicle, now isn't it? Sports Tourer? What is that exactly? What could really be sporty about a six passenger tarted up minivan with a 250 hp V6 saddled to at least 4639 pounds and a four speed automatic? I'm waiting to see if there'll be a Dodge Caravan SRT-Something. A performance minivan, now that's an interesting niche. Or "The Man's" minivan. Ooh, the possibilities are endless!!!!!!!!
  11. Ya, I find the 5-Series very ugly. I'd much rather have an Audi A6, Cadillac STS, or even the Chrysler 300C.
  12. Sorry. I meant "credible" as in body-on frame and available/standard V8 power. They have to do things that the Silverado, Sierra, Ram, and F-Series and do them well. And this isn't about getting the groceries either. I just feel that trucks have to be able to haul a massive fifth wheel or something.
  13. Rural. That way there aren't those other people to bother me. Sure, I might be more likely to die should something happen, but oh well. And, it's actually dark at night. And you can see the stars. how about that?
  14. Ugh, what a nasty colour!
  15. I don't know, I find the updated 9-5 to be a bit on the homely side. I liked the previous front and rear much better.
  16. Let's just admit it, the Ridgeline is not a real truck, it's just a poseur toy for fools who shouldn't be buying a truck in the first place and to the Asian Import sheep. As far as the topic is concerned, the only Japanese automaker that really has a "credible" truck is Nissan and its Titan. And, of course, people who have any idea what good looks are won't be caught dead is a Ridgeline either.
  17. Vile. Repulsive. Disgusting. Grotesque. Hideous. Offensive. Did I mention that it's ugly? Oh, but you say that doesn't matter? Why? Oh, yes, that's right. Because it's a Toyota all of the lemming people of magazines and the public will just love it since it's "built" by Toyota regardless of whether it comes to the U.S. or not. Because, they (magazines) drive some not-for-U.S.-consumption vehicles, so we'll probably hear about it one way or another.
  18. Not many auto designs are entirely original anymore. When they are, they are usually afflicted with some grotesque details, like Audi's huge grille, BMW's designs period, the Pontiac Aztec, and others. The new Sonata, though not entirely original, is handsome. I have noticed more and more of them here in Southern Michigan. Though it's aged and not especially competetive anymore, the Dodge Stratus is still a fine looking automobile, and I would probably take it over the competition. For me, how the vehicle looks is more important than interior space, who it's made by, or how fast it is. However, I make the Stratus statement based on the current design, and if the Charger as the replacement for the Intrepid is any indication of what the next Stratus (or whatever it's called) will look like, then GM's designs may well become my favourite. I mean, just look at the Saturn Aura (Opel Vectra), Pontiac G6, the current SAAB 9-3, Cadillac STS, and the Buick Lucerne. Sort of like I dislike the WTF is it Caliber that is to replace the Neon. I still think DCX needs a small car of the proper format. And, oddly enough, my Sony Walkman that I purchased about three years ago seems indestructible (can't say the same for the headsets) but, perhaps the quality has fallen off. I've never been one to jump into the latest electronic fads and doodads, so even if I am not in the loop, I don't care. I mean, what other middle-class 19 year old doesn't have an i-Pod or MP3 player these days other than me, hehe.
  19. If that sucker is available with xenon lamps, it'll be my object of roadster lust.
  20. I hate the Acura's dash. It's like a pathetic 1980's refugee, with cheesy HVAC vents to boot. I can't understand why these auto magazines like the RSX's dash so much, regardless of its materials. Although I can appreciate soft and squishy dash materials with no sheen, I would rather have a nicely styled instrument panel with rock hard plastics with a low sheen and seemless integration over something ugly. Sorry Honda, but I like the GM Saturn ION's dash better than your tarted-up Civic's. Also, not that I give Motor Trend that much credit, but they complained of the Scion xA's centre mounted instrument cluster as well in that comparison that included the Chevrolet Aveo and Kia Rio Cinqo. And the media is just as responsible as GM is for its troubles with public perception. It's hard to fight to looming problems at once.
  21. What would make me happier in the case of the G6 is a better center stack, no plastic wood (I'd prefer metal/metallic trim, and, of course, twin cam engines.
  22. Well, I personally would prefer the G6 over the Mustang because I hate overdone retro, and I prefer swoopy cars to boxes, much as I prefer Chrysler's LH sedans to the LX ones (especially in Dodge's unfortunate case). What can I say, the G6's style has won me over.
  23. I find those fins to be grotesque and offensive add-ons to otherwise slinky shapes, especially for nowdays.
  24. Right. That was my concern, the price differences. But, some of those magazines compare just about anything (Motor Trend's FrankenFocus vs. Lamborghini Gallardo) and these are two of my favourite American cars right now, so, I shrug.
