    Lincoln Offers Free Pickup and Delivery For Service

      Lincoln adds another perk for their owners


    Lincoln is trying to stand out from the crowded luxury field by offering owners various services and perks. They have announced a new service that will begin with the 2017 Continental allowing owners not to visit the dealership to have their car serviced.

     

    A Lincoln service valet will pick up an owner's vehicle and take it in for service. The owner will be left a courtesy car while theirs is being worked on. Once service is completed, the vehicle is returned to the owner. This perk comes at no charge for the owner.

     

    “Lincoln Pickup and Delivery service revolves around complementing our luxury vehicles with outstanding luxury experiences. Our dealers view this as a way to differentiate the client experience for Lincoln owners,” said Lincoln North America director of sales and marketing Andrew Frick.

     

    Lincoln has been doing trials of this service at select dealers and found it to be a success. Of owners who participated, 98 percent said they would have their vehicle serviced at the dealer again and 93 percent said they would buy another Lincoln.

     

    Now Lincoln isn't the first to offer this service to owners. Hyundai offered this service with their Equus flagship. What makes this program different is it will be available on Lincoln's entire 2017 lineup.

    DEARBORN, Mich., June 28, 2016 – Lincoln adds the luxury segment’s only standard Pickup and Delivery Service across all 2017 nameplates starting with the all-new Lincoln Continental. The exclusive standard service builds on the brand’s commitment to providing a human, warm and personal experience at all Lincoln dealerships.

     

    Lincoln Service Valet will pick up a client’s vehicle at an agreed location and, provide a complimentary Lincoln loaner vehicle, and then take the client’s vehicle to the dealership for service. Once complete, clients can arrange for their washed and serviced vehicle to be returned to them at the location of their choice.

     

    “Lincoln Pickup and Delivery service revolves around complementing our luxury vehicles with outstanding luxury experiences,” says Andrew Frick, Lincoln North American director of sales and services. “This kind of Quiet Luxury provides an exclusive and personally crafted service experience that enhances their lifestyle and saves them what is a true luxury item – their time.”

     

    Lincoln has been piloting this program with a select group of dealers since May 2015 with overwhelming results:

    • 98 percent of clients indicate they would be more likely to receive service from that Lincoln dealer in the future
    • 98 percent would recommend Lincoln and the service to a friend
    • 93 percent are likely to purchase another Lincoln vehicle


    “Our dealers view this as a way to differentiate the client experience for Lincoln owners,” says Frick. “No matter what Lincoln vehicle clients have from our portfolio, they have the peace of mind of getting that vehicle to and from service at a location of their choice, with a complimentary Lincoln loaner in order to maintain their busy schedules.

     

    “When nearly 100 percent of clients receiving this service say they would recommend Lincoln to a friend, it clearly indicates positive momentum for the brand and our dealers,” adds Frick.

     

    This exclusive Pickup and Delivery marks another milestone in Lincoln Motor Company commitment to merge great products, an outstanding experience and impeccable service – part of its original 2012 business plan. Since Lincoln began this journey, it has delivered four all-new products in four years, established a dealer network in China, built brand awareness, and increased volume for the brand and Lincoln products.

     

    As part of Lincoln’s ongoing client experience efforts, these successful programs have already been implemented:

    • Lincoln Concierge: A trusted personal advisor – like the most attuned hotel concierge – assists clients 24/7 online at www.lincoln.com. While other luxury brands offer similar services, only Lincoln provides clients with an opportunity for video chat with a live person.
    • Black Label: Started in 2015, the number of participating dealers has increased to more than 90 committed locations. Black Label provides personalized shopping with dedicated personnel in the showroom, online, or in locations convenient to clients. Specially trained Black Label experience liaisons meet prospective clients at their home, office, or anywhere within 30 miles of the showroom to begin the experience. Acting as a personal shopping assistant, the liaison helps clients identify their ideal vehicle by sharing paint and wood trim samples, as well as material swatches. Lincoln Black Label owners enjoy special privileges – ranging from extended premium service and maintenance coverage on wear items to Culinary Collection membership that provides access to a curated list of restaurants from coast to coast.
    • Date Night: This extended test drive allows qualified buyers the chance to experience a Lincoln vehicle for up to 48 hours. In 2015, Date Night resulted in more than 11,000 sessions at select dealers, prompting nearly an 11 percent increase in Lincoln purchases. The program attracted nearly 70 percent of clients who had been with other luxury nameplates.
    • Lincoln Institute: Training for key client-facing individuals is provided through Lincoln Institute. The program, which combines all of the brand’s training efforts under one umbrella, has been expanded to include all Lincoln dealers. Lincoln Institute includes not only hospitality training, but an all-new series of workshops that provide participants with tools to help local teams develop and execute processes consistently for luxury clients.

    This is probably a way to keep the Lincoln owners out of sitting in the Ford dealer service area, and/or to make it seem like Lincoln is more exclusive and separate from Ford.  When at 90% of these dealerships the Ford and Lincoln are sold and serviced in the same building.

     

    My question is if they pick up your Lincoln for service, will they return a good car you would actually want to drive?

    To smk for the "classy comment",

    No Lincoln does not make "drivers' cars". But make cars people like to be behind the wheel in but not a "drivers car", Like the MB lineup hold the AMGs.

    Not many automakers still make true drivers cars. Miatas, pony cars, BRZ/FR-S, most of the Porsche lineup(excluding the SUVs), GTI, Golf R, 4C, etc... There are a handful but each automaker typically only has one, maybe two. Oh, I'd even throw in the Wrangler.

    Actually Surreal, I have to disagree with you on the stand alone dealerships. On the west coast, I ONLY FIND FORD / Lincoln Dealerships with BOTH auto's on the same showroom floor. I have yet to see let alone be in a stand alone Lincoln Dealership.

     

    Just a few miles from my house is the Harris Ford Lincoln Dealership. They just finished a major remodel and expanded their one big showroom floor to show off both Lincoln and Ford side by side.

    Negative vote aside, I have seen nothing but dedicated dealers in the Phoenix Valley and most of the ones I saw back east were the same way (lived in NC for 35 years). Point being that SMKs claim of 10% is pure trolling bull&#036;h&#33;.

    Also of note, I did say that there were still some like the ones you mentioned so why that merited a down vote, I haven't the foggiest.

    U'm so why is Fordcosworth down voting you on both posts? I only saw on my recent business trip to New Jersey Ford/Lincoln Dealerships.  But regardless of this, you are right some areas will have separate and others will have merged.

    I don't understand at ALL like DFelt why HERE you had to downvote. 

     

    Both times Surreal vouched for Lincoln because SMK was suggesting that this new program would have terrible execution because Ford/Lincoln dealers are tied at the hip...Surreal provided evidence that in the Phoenix area, and perhaps in others Lincoln dealers are becoming more often standalone.

     

    Lincoln right now, except the Conti, MKX and refreshed Z is still strife with cars that really aren't notable in any way.

     

    I like the Conti, but the Z, while nice, should also be built at Flat Rock.

    I don't really care what else is serviced where my car is serviced.  My original post here was about how Ford probably wants to keep the Lincoln owners separate make it seem like Lincoln is different than Ford.  Because in reality those Lincolns have a lot of Ford parts and Ford trim pieces and drive like Fords.

     

    If Ford wants to help Lincoln they need to get Lincoln it's own chassis and own bodies.

    Yeah, that wasn't the defense you were using a few months ago before you got called out in it but that's a discussion for another time.

    Btw, asking Ford to do that is literally the opposite of how multi-make companies handle that. Ask VW. Ford has also done a better job of making Lincolns look less like their Ford cousins and that is a fact.

    Only product can save Lincoln.  Black Label concierge services, and pick up and drop off service aren't going to do it.  Gotta have the product.  Look at Cadillac, they actually have 2 rear drive light weight chassis that are world class, and they are still struggling.  Imagine where Cadillac would be if the ATS was based on the Cruze, the CTS was based on the Malibu, and XTS was their flagship.  And there was no V-series, no Cadillac with over 400 hp, no coupes, etc.

      The Rivian R1S is a three-row EV crossover with a range of up to 410 miles and will be built in Normal Illinois at a former Mitsubishi plant. It is expected to go into production sometime in 2021.
      There will also be a compact Lincoln EV crossover coming for 2021 that could be built on the same platform that the Ford Mustang Mach-E rides on. 
      EV sales have been tepid so far in the US, but Lincoln is banking on the EVs to be bigger sellers in the Chinese market.

      Los Angeles - At the Los Angeles Auto Show, Lincoln introduced the Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring, a plug-in hybrid trim.  Based on the standard Corsair, the Grand Touring's powertrain consists of a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder gas engine and a permanent magnet synchronous motor.  The combined output based on Lincoln's calculations would be roughly 266 horsepower.  Electric All-wheel drive powers the rear wheels.  EV range is targeted at 25 miles EPA. 
      Power is conveyed through a PowerSplit electric continuously variable transmission with two electric motors working together to provide very smooth acceleration. 
      In addition to the five modes normally available to Corsair drivers, two additional modes are available on the Grand Touring;  Preserve EV mode recharges and saves battery power for later, the engine and motor work continuously to deliver full power.  The battery can be recharged up to 75 percent while in this mode. Pure EV mode is designed to keep the vehicle in all-electric mode as much as possible, only using the gasoline engine when the power demands exceed the electrical capabilities of the vehicle. 
      The Lincoln Corsair Grand Touring will be built in Louisville Kentucky and will go on sale summer of 2020.

    • A lot of good facts here and with all the low 3 liter V6s and 4.3s in both V6 and V8 form, it's easy to get them confused and/or forget them. I had forgotten.  There was a 3.3 V6 in the downsized Malibu because, that same year, they put out a 3.2 V6 (196 c.i.) for equivalent Buick products, such as the Regal and the Century.  I knew someone who had this engine in a hand-me down in a 2-door Regal, and he said it was reliable, economical, but had no oomph. It was great that Chevy's downsized full-sizes kept the inline 6 because the engine bay had room for it.  I believe 231s were available in the BOP full-size base cars.  I think, in that era, I'd opt for the inline 6 over the 231. I don't know what the 4.4 V8 was based on, which was also found in Malibus and Monte Carlos. 4.3s by Chevrolet can be confusing, since they made them as V6s and V8s.  Both were excellent engines.  The 4.3 V6 (Vortec) was sliced off from a Chevy 350.  Who'd have thought that this engine was a slam dunk for 300,000 miles?  A few Astro van drivers have told me that their 4.3s would not give up the ghost.  I think that, in that era, the 4.3 V6 (~ 262 c.i.) with simple TBI was better than the 231 c.i. V6, even if the 231 had gone even firing.  And, yes, it showed up in the 1985 MY model year.  I had the opportunity to drive a RWD Monte Carlo (bucket seats and console!) coupe with that engine in the NYC area and the extra ~ 30 hp (if I recall) came in handy for short ramps and getting out of the gate after paying a bridge toll. The 4.3 V8 was a de-bored 5.0 (305 c.i.) V8.  It showed up for the 1994 MY in RWD form but only stuck around for a few years.  If in excellent condition, the purr that they make is music to the ears.  It also can go the distance ... just hope the Optispark ignition control doesn't give out, which can be costly.  For some reason, the smaller GM V8s have nice, quiet exhaust notes and I like quiet running cars. Also, in the late '70s, Chevy had some batches of 305s and 350s that had premature camshaft wear problems.  I knew a few people who had problems with them.  That definitely skewed me towards Olds designed V8s.  However, with all of that behind them, I would gladly drive a car powered by the L99 engine (4.3 Chevy V8) that the thread discusses.  
    • Great photo!  It's good fun to take random photos of random animals when they show up.  I was getting gas in Orlando FL on a humid night and a little green frog had made its home in one of the slots in the steel column holding up the canopy over the gas pump island.
    • PHOQUE IT!!!     I want #25!    If it wont be #7 as they blew last year, Ill take #25 this year.
