listing in the local classified ad for a 1986 el camino choo choo and a 1989 iroc camaro, first $5000 takes em both. interestingly enough its good to see the prices on cars coming back down. watching barrett jackson in pebble beach i saw several good cars go fo good money. 1970 ss 454 monte carlo in astro blue with a black vinyl top for $20K several good cruisers could be had for under 20 on the first days. in fact an old cutlass went for 8500 with only 3500 miles on it. black with a tan top. tan interior. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/application...h/w_search.aspx

I don't know if any of you have seen this before... But Penn and Teller have a show on Showtime called "Bull$h!" where they debunk popular social assertions, the supernatural etc.. well they devoted a half hour to environmental hysteria. There's a dusting of profanity, so put those headphones on! It's certainly a very entertaining show! OK, I'll play your game. '56 Continental Mark II in perfect shape, black with tan roof, parked in a driveway... in a light rain weather situation. In other news, we've had a couple Benz GLA 250s traded in the last few weeks where I work. We sell Hyundai and Mazda at my location.

Is the love affair with the automobile over? Say it ain't so! Well, I don't think it is...I wouldn't have my Monte Carlos otherwise.... But, the owner of a couple area car washes (1 in S Elgin; 1 in Elgin) seems to think so.... Eh, what?! The full article is here: http://www.suburbanchicagonews.com/courier...WASH_S1.article SIDE NOTE #1: I'm disappointed that South Elgin wants to do something else with the land because that is the car wash I most-frequent during the winter months. It has the shortest driveway/waiting area, so the shortest waits.... Though, if I get a winter beater, I won't have to worry about that so much...eh? SIDE NOTE #2: I'm a …

While visiting Stayner, Ontario, I happened on this gem. It is a really rare, and extremely low milage 1996 Dodge Ram Indianapolis 500. An elderly gentleman owned it since new, then passed away leaving it for his kids, and then it found its way to a dealer in Stayner. It is kept in a climate controled garage! 18,827 Kilometers (11,698 Miles!!!) and perfect condition. Looks like it just came from the factory!!! They want $17,000 for it. From info I found on the net, approximately 2802 Indy Rams were built! VIDEO: PICS:

I finally saw a minor thing I really like about the Malibu. I got the latest issue of Car and Driver, which has a pretty high resolution photo of the Malibu in an ad. Looking closely, you can see that the little metal headlight reflector cups have a little, tiny Chevy bowtie in each one. Is this something new on the 2010s? Has anyone else noticed these?

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday... every evening this week I've tried to get in to the gym. But the parking lot is full to capacity, with 4 or 5 cars blocking the aisles, following people to their cars so they can grab their spots. It's this way every January since I joined there a few years ago. By next month, I predict all will be normal again, and the couch potatoes will plant themselves once more. Sigh.

I hope to do some "weekend voyages" during 2010, but for now, I'm planning these drives.... ** MC NATS, JUNE 2010 ** I'll travel to Richmond IN for the 25th Annual Monte Carlo Nationals: http://www.montecarloclub.com/Monte_Nationals_Page.htm ** NOR'EASTER TREK, AUG 2010 ** My "major" road trip is a drive to the northeast US. Plans for this trip are developing, but the tentative/skeletal itinerary is below. If you are interested in meeting up along the way, please advise me.... http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/sea/1619190174.html Dear University Alumni Office, I'm sorry to hear that the university's $750 million endowment has fallen in value to $500 million because of the recession and because your bank died. I'm also sorry to hear that you're dealing with declining enrollment due to the fact that middle-class families are no longer willing or able to bet their homes on a $45,000-a-year higher education for their children. I really am. So, what I want to know is, why are you wasting money on glossy fundraising brochures full of meaningless synonyms for the word "Excellence"? And, why are you sending them to ME? Yes, I know that I got a ma…
