I tried not to laugh..

I almost bought that exact car. If you put yourself in the mindset of 1987, they were pretty decent cars. However, when I priced one out, it was out of my budget at the time. Instead, I bought a '87 Shadow ES, turbo, etc.

GM had very competitive vehicles at that time. The then current Accords, Camrys and Nissans just didn't have the appeal yet. The Acura Legend had just come out. We still see a few of these Buicks on the road up here, which is a strong testimonial to how well built they were!

Ah... cool. I loved our 89. I wish we still had it. It was sporty, yet luxurious... Like a Buick should be. I loved the digital dash... the styling... the amenities... *sigh* There's a newer one for sale 2 miles up the road from me. Looks kinda $h!ty, though...

Wow... talk about REVER?E engineering. :(

RWD - FWD

BOF - unibody

Optional V8 - no V8

smaller trunk

smaller greenhouse

T-tops opt. - no T-tops

Great Styling - (well... let's leave subjectivity out of this)

I'm not even going to mention the Grand Nat. VS. the '88 GS

They were nice, but they were sooo vastly different from what came before.

He heh ... and Sixty8 and I weren't the first ones to point this out this time ;). I thought about it in my earlier post, but opted not to.....

Tho, I see that Sixty8 expanded on this idea ;).

I wish... I'd love to be an old fart at a carshow with a

92% restored 1959 Buick flat top & fond memories

of the summer of love. Even girls looked better in the

1960s!

That steering wheel looks familiar...

Yeah, it looks sort of like a production version of the Velite wheel.

Those are some very cool gauges.

I've got the perfect solution to any W-body's woes:

Remove V6.... throw in dumpster along with trans. &

IRS. fabricate engine cradle for a longitudinally

mounted Chevy350/Northstar/Rocket 350/ G.N. 3.8T

and all the associated hardware for a rear end, 6spd

manual transmission & driveshaft.

NOW you're cooking! (wheelie bars optional)
