GH: VH

Recommended Posts

I wonder if it comes with the special rig made out of old car horns so you can fade it into Runnin' With The Devil properly.

At least it's got David Lee Roth in it. It's VAN HALEN, not VAN HAGAR!

WTF is Wolfgang doing in 80s VH...he wasn't even born yet. This looks pretty sweet, but it's only half as good as it could be by them leaving out Michael and Sammy. For as much crap as Sammy seems to get, his catalog had some excellent songs like Get Up, Poundcake, Right Now, Love Walks In, etc...and the thing about DLR VH was that you'd get a 30 minute album, while Sammy gave you a 50 minute album.

Found on another site:

The 29-songs to be included on Van Halen's Guitar Hero Game GH:VH are:

"Ain't Talkin' Bout Love"

"And The Cradle Will Rock"

"Atomic Punk"

"Beautiful Girls"

"Cathedral" (solo)

"Dance The Night Away"

"Eruption" (solo)

"Everybody Wants Some"

"Feel Your Love Tonight"

"Hang 'Em High"

"Hear About It Later"

"Hot For Teacher"

"Ice Cream Man"

"I'm The One"

"Jamie's Cryin"

"Jump"

"Little Guitars"

"Loss Of Control"

"Mean Street"

"Panama"

"Pretty Woman"

"Romeo Delight"

"Running With The Devil"

"So This Is Love"

"Somebody Get Me A Doctor"

"Spanish Fly" (solo)

"Unchained"

"You Really Got Me"

Other In-Game tracks include Billy Idol's "White Wedding"; Deep Purple's "Space Truckin"; Foo Fighters' "Best Of You"; Foreigner's "Double Vision"; Fountains Of Wayne's "Stacy's Mom"; Judas Priest's "Painkiller"; Lenny Kravitz' "Rock And Roll Is Dead"; Queen's "I Want It All"; and the Clash's "Safe European Home," among others.

Aside from "Stacy's Mom" and "Double Vision", this one's not making me want it (and I have all of them). The Sammy Hagar era was my favorite Van Halen period. Leaving out "Why Can This Be Love," "Poundcake," "Runaround," "Can't Stop Lovin' You," "Humans Being," "Right Now," "Cabo Wabo," "Finish What Ya Started," and "Summer Nights" is a crime.

All eras of VH should be represented (yes, even a couple of Gary Cherone songs) and their images included, but I'm seeing this, more than anything else, a vehicle to prmote and generate interest in the current iteration of the band. For fans who have been waiting for some new music, this is a good thing. No way would EVH sign on to be included in a video game with Dave if he wasn't interested in continuing VH with him.

I would like to see them bury the hatchet with Sammy and Mike, regardless of what happens with Van Halen.

Awesome to see Romeo Delight and Hear about it Later on the list. However, the list is incomplete because of the lack of Hagar tunes. Not being able to crank out tunes like Best of Both Worlds or the powerful guitar barrage's '5150' and Baluchitherium means that the VH experience is incomplete.

Also, some of the non-VH songs are really weird. The Clash?! Foo Fighters?! A VH package should contain music from the LA Glam/Hard Rock scene from the likes of the Crüe, RATT, Def Leppard and Dokken for a complete shredding experience.
