A pet peeve

I know that this is a nitpick, but it annoys me that the Taurus S-H-O is now the Taurus "show".

Seems a juvenile change to me.

I've always heard it referred to both ways...

The "show" BS was never what Ford called it until now.

20 years ago I remember people calling it 'show'...

The fact remains that it is an acronym for "Super High Output".

Saying "show" just comes across as dumbed-down and tacky to me.

But then, that's popular culture for you.

Mickey D's

BK

KFC

J-Lo

A-Rod

Bennifer

Americans just don't have time to say whole words or properly enunciate things.

I Ford using "show" was rather dumb sounding as well.

Then again Hyundai has embraced the mis-pronunciation of there whole brand.

'show' works well as a way to pronounce SHO...on the other hand, it's hard to pronounce 'SVO' or 'SVT' as a word...

How about the Toyota trucks with the "TRD" decals? I pronounce that 'turd'...
