You have not heard new generators; most are on par at 45 db or so and top out at around 70db so no different than an ice auto. Only cheap old generators are really noisy with no muffler system.

Sub 60db really is pretty dang quiet. I guess when you spend a grand on a unit, it ought to be quiet, too.

Today marks the two-year anniversary that I do not have a motor vehicle to my name.

There's less to hassle with. But the periodic renting is also annoying.  When I see a nicely kept same model year LaCrosse going by, there might be a slight wince.  I think it went to a good owner, as far as I could see, and hope that they get good use out of it.

Actually, you can make an adventure out of riding transit.  For example, I love that cheap 7-day MTA card that works across all five boroughs of NYC. Discovering large metro areas using public transit passes can be fun, as long as it does not lean too much on the "thrillseeker" side.

The whole market is way over valued at the moment.

I really would like to move beyond driving every day.

The plus side of Capitalism is lots of cool stuff for killer prices. The downside is AI is going to take a ton of jobs. We will see what the future holds.

Exactly. It completely contradicts the whole "EVs are simpler" idea. And now you'd have another ICE to maintain, hahaha.

A power washer and two cars is plenty. Everything else from mowers to leaf blowers is electric, but easily re charged. And my leaf blower is not going to leave me stranded with no way to re fuel it in rural West Virginia.

One of my better friends and his wife wanted a Transit Connect for the same exact reasons you just listed. He hasn't gotten one yet, but the hold up was the prices of used ones. apparently they hold their value pretty well and you'd be buying a fleet one from somebody with a ton of miles. He said it just didn't really seem to make sense, at least yet.

If I'm camping, give me the CO2 of the F150 hybrid over the noise of a generator. There's little worse than ruining the quiet of nature with a generator running for hours.

I really wish they built a Hybrid Ranger OR that my wife was more comfortable driving larger vehicles. An F150 Hybrid would be killer.

Please test drive one, you will be shocked as to the interior room. The head of the Mach-E program is a 6'2" tall burly man who made it a requirement of having 3 of himself in the back seat, space is good in both the Mach-E and F150 Lighting. I have no problems with the space. My issue is as you know the 400V system.

A used Mach-E is a solid way to go to move into an EV at a much lower price to get used to the changes of EV life.

I do not like cats for many reasons and some would turn a person's stomach due to what cats will do.

Dogs on the other hand have a much larger loyalty and would rather starve to death by your dead side than eat you like a cat will.

I grew up with dogs and while I have no desire to own one as they are forever babies that have to be fed, cleaned up after, etc. I like my freedom to get up and go any time without having to think about the dog.

I have cats, and don't plan on adopting additional animals when these are gone. Like you, I want my freedom and tranquility, also solitude.

Agree, the whole market is way overvalued, sadly I see this not adjusting too much due to people who did not save and are 50 years old now are putting away their 20+% into 401Ks so the inflow of cash is huge.

Be interesting to see how bad the market correction becomes as I do think the Idiot47 administration will cause a crash of some sort and I hope the rich loose it more than the hard-working American.

New Jobs as repairs of Robots and AI bots that replace humans will be needed.

Agree with you, 7yrs ago I retired all my gas-powered yard equipment and went with EGO electric powered yard gear from my mower, blower, hedge trimmer, weed Wacker, etc. and do not regret it one bit, never has let me down and I keep them charged and still keeps going. Love how quiet it is and no pollution.

With the EV9, my only ICE left is the Escalade and that I hope to retire in the near future for an EV Pickup. Kia has been quiet on the EV9 pickup that they have mules running around LA. I suspect it will still come but delayed a few years. Since my autos are paid for, I can wait. Weird is I fuel up the 32gallon tank on the Escalade once a month now because I drive it only back n forth between the house and the train station to go into Seattle for my required work in the office once a week. Otherwise, it sits in the garage other than local driving, so down to once-a-year oil changes too.

Have you had her try driving an F150 Hybrid? My wife was the same way till I had her test drive with me my 1993 GMC Suburban and she was shocked how it drove like a car and not the impression of a truck then. Today's trucks drive so easy car like that I would be surprised if she found it hard to drive. The only thing I have run into is some folk's ability to sense their 4 corners in a larger auto tends to freak them out.

Interesting take on things...

This is interesting, just as we discovered that diabetic shots can also be used for weight loss, one has to wonder what else our minds are capable of.

So much for Idiot47 bringing down prices and making things great again. No going back to the 1950's / 1960's for prices Idiot47.

Here are the five key takeaways from Friday's consumer price index report

Were you expecting 50's/60's pricing to come back or something? I don't understand your comment.

Also, I do believe it was said that it will get worse before getting better.

Idiot47 talked about the Golden Days of the 50's and 60's and how he would MAGA America back to the golden days. Clearly that will never happen and with inflation up, will continue, but with job loss and manufacturing shutdowns, clearly his time in office will be one of inflation, high prices and hurt for all Americans except the 1%.

Are you absolutely SURE about that? That dog might wait an extra day or two, unlike a cat (I own two btw so be careful with how you respond here) but make no mistake. A dog will have some finger food (literally) if they are starving. It is what happened with Gene Hackman and his wife and that was a small dog doing that. Educate yourself before thinking this is only a cat thing. Both cats and dogs are animals and all that "dogs are more loyal" BS doesn't fly come starvation time. That is a fact.

Interesting, I have never heard of this till now, all my time growing up with dogs and my grandparents who had dogs and a couple did die at home but were not eaten by the dog, so this is interesting.

In hind site, your right animal instinct would kick in to survive and as such feed on whatever meet was available.

Canadian Commercial that is to be pulled on Monday since it pissed Idiot47 off.

Here is the full video of Reagan where he does say all that is in the commercial but also clearly states that tariffs like a scalpel are to be used surgically to achieve results such as the Tariffs that he put on Japan to stop their dumping of select items.

Point being is Idiot47 is a clear idiot in not understanding business and how to use surgical like tactics to achieve fairness. If he had more than an IQ of 79 he might actually be able to talk better than a 5th grader where he currently speaks and would understand the need for targeted approach rather than a dictator blanket approach to the world.

We all are going to feel the pain especially as we move forward in having to repair our auto's regardless of the power source used to motivate the wheels due to ignorance of a global market and a pointed approach to areas that truly make sense in protecting of America.

The honestly is that the industrial revolution of America will never come back as we move forward, not all things can ever be built here.

This is too funny.

This is pretty true based on what I hear from ex-coworkers who were laid off, college students who graduated this year, and the rest of us employed but no career growth.

Welcome to the 'Great Freeze': Why companies aren't firing, workers can't grow, and the unemployed can't get jobs

This pretty much nails it as to why their stock is not worth it.

How old are they now?
