  1. An unassuming elderly couple, lazily leaning against their brand new, limited production/one-of 630-built, fuel injected '57 Bonneville convertible.

  6. Found this old thread when looking for the type of gearbox in my UK spec 2005 Jeep Cherokee (Liberty in US) Sport 2.8 CRD with six speed manual gearbox...I'm getting more than double the mpg than "The O.C"s petrol powered version...38 US mpg or 45 UK mpg!

  7. To be clear, this is a '37 Ford with a Lincoln motor. Interestingly: the builder lowered the whole front clip vs. the body and increased the height of the windshield accordingly. Windshield glass height matches side window opening on production cars.

  8. I would get one over a Camry. And its an ok choice and not bad. But if I look at 2019 models, I would get a Malibu, Fusion, Accord, Mazda6, Altima, maybe even Passat before this. Hyundai's draw is easy credit and bigger warranties. If we look at Hyundai's development long term, its that they are fully accepted as a mainstream middle of the road vanilla device, so their cars don't look out of place and have no big flaws. If they continue to prove out as reliable as the mean average, which they likely are, then over time they wipe away any stigma of being cheaper end. All they want is to be mainstream and volume and each successive year they just perform to mainstream market factors is just the greater chance they survive and can over time leverage more and more their corporate advantages....cheaper to develop and build vehicles than some other more established makers. When the thinning of the auto herd happens again, Hyundai will likely be one of the 5-7 automakers / brands that survives. That's why volume and market share matter as much as profitability per unit.

  9. being a controlled economy, they can slowly increase the price of gasoline. take the profits and use them to subsidize electric charging station installations.

  10. Yes. It's more for the social media aspect. For the posting of reviews and reveals, I would still use my Sony Alpha A6000 that I love, but its connection to my phone is beyond terrible. It only connects about 25% of the time which makes it difficult to snap a picture and post to instagram or facebook. Plus, it would be good for situations where I think I might need a camera but I'm not going to pack the big camera, so I can just take that attachment.

  11. The Jet Blade thing doesn't make any sense. It just seems like a worse version of a jet ski. Everything else seemed pretty dang neat.

  16. With work, I stay in touch w/ colleagues in AZ via email, daily phone calls and Skype messenger (text only). For my teams in India and Barbados it's too unpredictable for video, so we have conference calls, with the occasional WebEx to share desktops. I've been working this way for over a year now, took some adjustment, but since I've been working w/ this team almost 4 years it was a pretty smooth transition.

  17. Finally replaced my iPhone 6..had it almost 3 years...battery wasn't holding a charge, and it was starting to randomly hang/freeze up and not take input from the touch screen. Ordered an iPhone 8 w/ twice the capacity and had it in 2 days, was easy to set up and re-sync everything w/ iCloud. Working great, much better battery life.

  18. So Sad that due to technology we are in a sense isolating ourselves from society and human interaction. I have accepted my confirmation text messages, but I am still a face to face meeting kind of guy. If we are going to have a Skype meeting, then webcam a requirement. Seeing people is very important especially if decisions are being made that have impact on products, jobs, etc. I like to see the body language.

  19. Ya, I definitely find myself staying in touch by phone much less than in the past. I have friends in Colorado I still call once in a while to talk with, but we mostly exchange email or texts or FB comments. My sister and I stay in touch w/ texts & FB messenger when she is out of town or out of the country for work. About the only people that I only use the phone to stay in touch with are my brother and an uncle. And I think the generation younger than mine rarely ever uses a phone to make calls.

  20. The GTO convertible is a '69...sharp. Engine would be a 400. Not sure what green that is, lighter than Vedoro.
