Yet let's admit that auto's period are all overpriced. If our salary went in sync with auto prices, we all would be making $500,000 a year.3 points

^ Looks like some good time. - - - - - 'Should consider' - too late, apparently. The fact that an imbibed chemical is getting approved in widening areas WITHOUT any guidelines, studies or standards for impairment while driving is amazing to me. I don't care what people do privately, but public roads are another matter.2 points

But this makes being a Pot Farmer very lucrative for those living next to Canada now that it is legal in the country. New Export Crop - Washington Bud! Just remember to be kind and Puff, Puff, Pass!2 points

The problem is going to be the judgement of what is considered impairment.2 points

We have a lot of such jack-asses around me. AWD and bald tires. My Issue with the Blazer is that it doesn't feel very "off-roady". I'm fine with the idea of a sports SUV like the Edge ST or QX70, but the Blazer conjures an image of an off-road SUV like a Grand Cherokee or Bronco. I'm glad they didn't call it TrailBlazer.2 points

That's because people consider them sunk investments.... they can't possibly trade them in because they just spent $7,000 getting it road worthy again.2 points

They are reliable, but maintenance is expensive as they age...remember the old adage, if you can't afford a new Mercedes, you can't afford a used one. Old German cars are money pits.2 points

I think Genesis is still VINed as a Hyundai for now. Genesis does need more of it's own look, but I think this styling directive is aimed at Hyundai. I question the wisdom of not having a family resemblance within a brand.2 points

Update, long time comin': Turned over 30k miles this week. No problems with the Jeep to report, however the tires... kept getting things (screws, a nail) stuck in the Firestone Destination LE tires that came on it... replaced them with... Yokohama Geolandar A/T in the stock size. Seems to have robbed me of almost 2 MPG on average... last tank was a little over 28. When does "winter gas" go full effect? Seems like Pumpkin Spice comes in and MPG goes out.2 points

GM needs to get out of this rut of lofty MSRP v. competition. It seems they're pricing everything to ensure a 20% off sale every damn month. Whacked.2 points

WHAT IS SHE GLARING AT.. and WHY??? I can't believe I'm the first to comment on the fact that these BULLSHIT commercials make me want to hurl. Is luxury really about just be STRAIGHT FACED and STARK??? YUCK!!! Its like what has society gone to? FUCK THESE PEOPLE!!! It's almost as bad as the Verizon commercial with the guy walking his dog and he keeps asking .."Is this a test?" to the other weaker looking male. or every GOD DAMN Subaru commercial that pulls on the heart strings of society.. except this is like Gattaca.. which was a great concept of a movie, and the art direction was stunning.. but it shouldn't be emulated in real life. BTW.. despite Cadillac coming out with the XT6.. the Escalade (Navigator, LX470, GL and Denali) is this X7's direct competitor. That is literally why BMW finally, after 10 years of talking about it.. came to the market with it.1 point

Nah, I've always thought it would be a cool name for an powerful off roader (or muscle car). Or a metal band.1 point

IIRC to defecate means to take a dump. Is that the Montezumas revenge edition for southern export south of the border only? Our Ohio Jack Asses are Jack Assier...lifted powerstrokes running bald tires and rolling coal. Very few will ever be used off road.1 point

Yep....I will happily watch companies like Porsche build SUVs if they keep building 911s.1 point

More people are willing to spend $90k on an SUV than are on a sports car.1 point

My god do I hate that people think AWD is some crazy miracle worker. It's great to have but it still needs to have adequate traction to the ground. I don't think it would be bad if they gave it some on-road nuts like an SS version or Z#####. Just a basic CUV seems pretty lame.. It seems like a good vehicle just a little boring.1 point

Yeah, personally I think they should have used the Blazer name on something with strong off-road creds...like an SUV version of the Colorado ZR2. This one could have been named 'Camaro Cross' or 'Captiva'...1 point

interesting you say that. I've noticed a drop in MPG and I almost want to say performance on the Encore when I switched from the Continentals to Goodyear Triple Treads. It's been a while since the switch-over, but it is still noticeable. If I keep it long enough, I may go back to the Continentals. Light snow traction on the Triple-Treads has been excellent for an all-season tire though.1 point

Wow. So all the desirable features are in the higher-end, pricier trims. This is pathetic. The Blazer needs about a $5000 discount off the top right now. . . or at least ditch the base model and have all other trims come down by at least $3000. . . . or they could improve the value and keep the price by replacing that turbo four with the V6. Trucks aside, why does Chevy think it can wade into Buick pricing?!1 point

As @Cubical-aka-Moltar stated no one yet, but I fit in the Bolt. The wife wants an EV that she likes. If the iPace or EQC covers her list of requirements, I very well could buy one. EVs have far more space inside than ICE. I might be fine in a mid size CUV EV.1 point

Yesterday was a weird day, driving on the freeway and no time to snap a pic but saw an AMC Javlin kind like this one off the web. Have to say I kinda like the body design. Maybe just a nice big change form the over abundance of the mustang and camaro everywhere I look. Also as I was exiting I saw an old metro van like this: Wife asked what it was as she had not seen anything like it before. Weird day with old iron that you rarely see anymore.1 point

Had no time; as soon as I got set up to take the pic, the truck turned into a driveway. Square body Chevy, RC/LB, I believe it was a K30 1-ton, excellent matte green paint, silver bumpers with a quad of tie down rings per end, off-road tires, super clean & sweet all-business truck: This is the wife's '16 Malibu- so far so good. Still leery of a 240-some page owner's manual; the one for my '64 is only 36 pages:1 point

This morning at the Lynnwood Park n Ride, got to see a brand new 2019 Chevy next to a 2019 Ram. The owners were exchanging info and while each complimented each others truck, they of course loved their truck they bought. With that said, I am now solidly in the RAM is way better looking than Chevrolet this year. The cardboard bailing front end of the Chevrolet is even more of a mess in person than in the pictures. PASS on Chevrolet, Ram for the Win!1 point

Yes I had a mini-rant against my Compass a while back, posted in Random Thoughts, but now I'm back in favor of it. It is a real nice size, and I have had no real concrete issues with it so far, with 13.6k miles on the clock. Winter gas does suck, but that is gas, not vehicle at fault. My right rear tire has something stuck in it, requiring air a couple times a week in frigid temps (after my service department patched it unsuccessfully) and I have a slight interior trim creak somewhere on the passenger side. But it starts and runs and I have had no tangible hint of the electrical woes so many report with the Jeepiats (save for an intermittent bluetooth fart). As far as power goes, I drive it like I drove my Fiesta: keep it in a lower gear than I would be used to in a V6, let it rev, and don't shift into 6th until I hit 55 mph. If it stays, and that prospect seems more likely now, there could be a set of Yokohama Geolander A/T tires in its future, stock size.1 point

FWD took over the market because the number of mainstream RWD models dwindled as the automakers moved en masse to FWD over the last 30+ years. Also, many people today are too lazy to buy winter tires and don't know how to drive properly in the winter. The police drove RWD only in snowy climates for decades, for example. I drove 5 winters in NE Ohio with RWD and winter tires, before switching to SUVs. Proper winter tires and knowing how to drive make all the difference.1 point
