No; I'm going to plow ahead and assume VW group 'can't sell' the TT and 'doesn't make any money on it' to boot. ?2 points

The bully only cares about the bully and nobody else. Hence why trade wars can be misused or abused by said bully.2 points

I feel a huge difference between say 47 and 53. But i work physically every day...I can't imagine sitting behind a monitor for a living. Twenty four years ago, 29 felt fine!2 points

I understand why VW would move Passat production out of Germany. Too bad VW will not build this EV CUV in, say, Chattanooga.2 points

H-D realizes they have to evolve if they are going to survive long term. Their current nostalgia focused product is appealing to a smaller and smaller base of customers and not bringing in younger buyers.2 points

When I was at Porsche Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca in 2011 and 2014 I recall many of the racecar haulers being Suburbans and Escalades. Same thing at the San Diego Coronado Festival of Speed (those were really fun events)...2 points

Audi unveiled a four-door TT concept called the Sportback at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Taking the overall sleek shape of the coupe, designers stretched the overall length and width to allow for two extra doors and a larger back seat. A new report from Auto Express says the four-door TT is coming and will take the place of the coupe and convertible within the next two years. The reason for the departure of the TT coupe and convertible is due to the diesel emission scandal. Due to the various penalties and fines, the Volkswagen group had to cancel a number of models and projects to save money. The next-generation TT coupe and convertible were likely on the chopping block due to low sales as buyers aren't interested in small sport cars. But Audi was somehow able to make a case to keep the TT as four-door 'coupe'. Auto Express says the design has been approved by management. The report doesn't say where the model will fit into Audi's lineup, but we suspect it will be priced slightly higher than the A3 sedan. View full article1 point

Making the TT a sedan makes no sense. They already have A3, A4, A6, A8 sedans and a 4-door A5 and a 4-door A7. That is six 4-door cars! And yes Mercedes has six 4-doors but I feel like they can kill the CLA or CLS and not miss a beat. This is a move that just reaks of stupidity.1 point

Harley-Davidson LiveWire News Release Bike riders beware, the name brands are finally delivering their electric bikes and that starts at one of the biggest bike shows on the planet. EICMA in Milan Italy. Today Harley-Davidson announced and showed off their production bike the LiveWire. This electric bike is being built with a permanent magnet electric motor which produces a tone that increases in pitch and volume with speed, a new sound that represents the smooth, electric power of the LiveWire motorcycle and is not a speaker generated tone but a true engine tone. The LiveWire bike has a fully adjustable Showa Suspension for composed riding at the slowest speeds or in spirited open road riding. The bike has a TFT touch display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, music and more. The battery pack is supported by level 1 to level 3 fast charging and the dealers will have chargers on site as well as sell a Harley-Davidson charger for installation at the owners home. Harley-Davidson also stated that by 2022 every model line will have a full electric version bike to sell along side the ICE bikes. The LiveWire bike goes on sale next year and full details on HP, torque, pricing and pre-ordering will be released in January 2019. The future of Harley-Davidson here.1 point

The darker the world gets the more I like the inside of my garage workshop. And given the current state of the world...I am glad my shop doesn't have any windows... Volvo is building some sweet looking Iron though, so I wish them well.1 point

It is sexy enough as a coupe. For Friday, i am just going to be happy to be alive and living in a country where I can enjoy cool cars. They have a Trabant on display at the Air Force Museum in Dayton. Now THAT is misery...and a car that doesn't need to exist in sedan form.1 point

Absolutely true. Those 1.5 gallon fill-ups only take a couple minutes.1 point

Trade wars can be good if approached in a professional way. Sadly the bully on the playground approach is Hurting US consumers, Hurting US Jobs and the wages of US citizens. Long term, less money in your pocket to buy stuff.1 point

Correct. That's why I also said this > They're such a great size. They're not too big. They're not small. I also love the look of them.1 point

OK, but of course 0.3 sec diff 0-60 won't sell One Single More unit to a segment shopper.1 point

This is pure hotness. Navigator is indeed top of the heap. ...and towing trailers much larger in Kentucky horse country. My sons Fiancee wants a G Wagen so bad she can taste it....I don't see the appeal myself.1 point

@Robert Hall @ykX @Drew Dowdell Finally HD released a current video of the production Livewire and you can hear their patented sound. I have to say that baby boomers wanting their loud ear hurting sound will probably not like this, but I can see a ton of 20 to 50 year olds who would like it. I truly think this will bring in a new generation of riders to the HD family.1 point

@dfelt Actually in Europe electric bikes are extremely popular. I know in some countries they had to make new laws limiting age and requiring protection because a lot of kids were riding them and getting into bad accidents. Here is one cool announced recent;y: Ducati electric assist mountain bike Autoblog1 point

I like it too. It looks cool and good for HD doing finally something advanced. I think getting electric as a toy at the moment is a good idea vs something you need to use daily.1 point

@ocnblu It is finally here with it's own unique tone. Not silent. Very cool bike.1 point

Nah, G-wagens are for going to Dairy Queen in Scottsdale. (True story--I was in the Dairy Queen drive thru in Scottsdale a few years ago---G-wagen AMG in front of me, one behind me with an SL AMG behind it...)1 point

I have definitely seen Escalades and Navigators with car trailers at tracks. I would wager interior space is close to the top of the list. and 0-60 being a tenth or three is also low on the list. They're all quick enough to make passing a breeze.1 point

Ford beats Hellcat. Wonder how much is the driver skill? ? Either way, America is winning on the strip!1 point

This totally rocks, WOW, I actually like the chimes that are in the Aviator from the Detroit Symphony. 28 second into the video you hear one of the many different chimes that will be in this new CUV.1 point

HP and torque ratings do not a trailering or hauling capability make. What’s funny SMK is that the higher output AMG versions of the vehicles you mentioned are probably rated to tow much less if at all than just the GLS 550. in terms of pure baller ness and exclusivity, the Navigator is the ride to get. The Escalade gets major props for being that ride. The GLS is more car-like. And it’s driven more like a car and less like a truck. If you’re saying that a GLS driver won’t sweat bullets towing over 7000 pounds you’re kidding yourself. The Navigator gets pro trailer backup assist and both the American trucks get allmost all other truck feature.1 point

The GLS has the most torque in that segment, what is not to trust? And the G63 has as 627 lb-ft and that engine/transmission combo will go into the 2020 GLS. I also suspect towing capability is rather low on the priority list of luxury SUV buyers. The Infiniti QX56 tows 8,500 lbs, how does that thing sell?1 point
-
IRS comes to the Escalade next gen.. to answer a question that no buyer of a $100K+ SUV ever asked as they were picking up their latte from Starbucks or the delicate flower of a woman they chose to f@#k around on.. The most off-road these vehicles see is when the blacktop covered roads of this great country get blanketed with snow.. My Yukon, along with its sisters and cross town cousin from Ford have no problem with that. If GM wanted to beat all of the other SUVs at OFF-ROAD.. they really wouldn't have to go far to do it. Hell.. the ZR2 Colorado is a beast.. and from what I'm hearing.. who knows.. they may create an SUV off this1 point

Thought of trinicria Bob the other morning. No 747 passenger flights into Columbus but freighters cone into Richenbacker down where I live all of the time. 747 taking off and heading west low over our neighborhood....6 or 700 feet...morning sun...gorgeous. Was also saddened to find that a 747 had been destroyed in an accident this week. It has been a bad week for aircraft...737 that was nearly new was destroyed with the loss of all hands...that 747...and a 757 just ran off a runway and was destroyed.0 points
