Actually, it is an N95 mask..I bought a few of them at Ace Hardware a couple years ago, been using them when I've been out w/ the leaf blower and leaf vacuum...2 points

I am fine with their lineup and see no need for anything below the XT4. Buick serves the section below that.2 points

So I’m wondering. Is this yet another endless pissing match about why Benz is better than everything else (even when it’s clearly not), or what is luxury and what is not, or how Benz is slack on the EV front, or is this about the Genesis G80? Asking for a friend.2 points

Not offended. Somewhat true for any race right now really, but yes if Chinese and visiting from there RUN FOREST RUN!!! But he was DWA and caught DWI. First question from police..."do you have a fever sir?!"1 point

Most Boomer do not want cars any more, much more easy to drag their old ass across the seats in a CUV.1 point

Yeah...I saw that with Jay and I was afraid for him. I love Jay. Not as a late night TV host. I only liked him in that gig. But as a car ambassador, he is top notch. I do not know why he wasnt dragged to his feet, kicked a coupla times in the head and then cuffed. Maybe they didnt want to get too close to him....he is of the Asian Persuasion and NYC has been hit by hard by the Chinese Virus, um...Wuhan, um... Covid 19. Yeah. Covid 19 Novel virus. yeah. (a little bit of dark, racist humour on my side...but not really meant as a joke either...) (Is that wrong of me?) (Im sorry if I have offended anybody) (I truly am sorry...)1 point

Right, but those are known to handle like driving on the edge of a knife. One wrong move of steering wheel at speed and you'll instantly lose it. Just ask Jay Leno about spinning out in one on Talladega Superspeedway in 2005 and he's actually a really good driver. It's a deathtrap. Main question is, why was he not instantly cuffed by police after driving off?! "Leaving the Scene of an Accident" is against the law last I checked...1 point

As dangerous as any other car being driven fast, recklessly and apparently high on drugs. https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a32067039/gemballa-mirage-gt-wrecked-in-manhattan/1 point

YEOUCH!! Ah the Carrera GT with the known steering wobble and the driver was obviously inebriated to drive off like that after it was toast. At least it didn't burst into flames like Paul's buddy's. Dangerous car...1 point

China Matters to Tesla, major investor and they have already expanded to cover auto production with expansion to now also cover power train and now we have the latest news that Tesla is expanding again to cover in house parts production to reduce turn around time. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-tesla-china-idUSKBN20X0HN1 point

Whipped this up this morning. Metal frame is from a '60s window A/C unit I scrapped, board is one of the shelves from my wife's changing table I scrapped, and the lights were from an '80s master bath I redid last year. I had the idea of making a lit-up advertising sign with the A/C frame. Now... I have no idea what to paint the actual sign up as, so this will go back in the project que for the future.1 point

They need the GV90 and especially the GV70 now, not in 24-36 months. Cadillac solved that product gap issue within the last 18 months.1 point
-
Genesis has the GV80 CUV equivalent of this G80, I believe it starts at just under 50k and is larger than an XT5, same length as a BMW X5. Have to wonder if they are planning a GV70. Hopefully a new G90 and GV90 will be here within a few years.1 point

The dude that wrecked this Mustang walked away...literally....Built Ford Tough!1 point

Right!!! My last sentence of my post was on this subject and it is totally ignored. To Quote Myself: Take the Hyundai Palisade and make both an ICE and EV luxury Genesis version and you will have a winner winner Steak Dinner. Fact is, they could do this and steal a ton of business for everyone.1 point

Sucks...but I’m not expecting sales to even start moving until June or July......1 point

Of course their focus is on Europe and China: they are from Europe and China is now the world's biggest auto market. VW/Audi, MB and BMW could drop the US market like a bad habit and it would affect them very little.1 point

I have seen this more and more by the Germans and it would infer that the Germans are going down the same path the old GM did. The all new BMW 2020 745e has the same funky Shifter GM started to use and was blasted for yet it is OK to use it in a German auto? This is the kind of crap @smk4565 has bitched about in US auto's and now we see it showing up in the German brands which will get a pass cause all things German are superior. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1127704_first-drive-review-2020-bmw-745e-plug-in-hybrid-luxury-sedan-goes-your-own-way-all-so-posh So what does this have to do with Genesis, nothing really other than to point out Germans are using the same parts Cadillac used first and now it is OK to call it Luxury? In fact, this has plenty to do with Genesis and the luxury segment as the Asians do have a higher reliability than German auto's which is why the Germans had to go to offering all maintenance to keep their leasing machine going as no one in their right mind would buy one. I expect the Genesis to outlast the same year model of a german sedan.1 point

No, this is a stupid idea. Really ashamed that someone from Ford would suggest this. How about concentrating on how many more new 2020 Escapes you can sell instead of 70,000 dollar Aviators now? Likewise, GM, maybe something like the Cruze is a valuable entry in the car lineup now? Watch GM spin this into needing all sorts more money to dump into autonomous and electric black hole now. I would be for the development budgets of electric being increased if the charging grid were part of that investment but I haven't seen jack squat of that to date. And in the meantime, how about instead of cash for clunkers, get more hybrid powertrains into volume lines. Like an Equinox hybrid. Give credit for continuing hybrids in some of its product lines.1 point

That Ford executive wants Cash for Clunkers because he sees an opportunity for Ford to get more money from the government. That is the real issue. I do not believe that we need a Cash for Clunkers program this time. As for back to basics automobiles, maybe that will happen but I doubt it. Not only are current new vehicles too expensive, but used vehicles can be bought at semi-reasonable prices. Unless the fight is over a brand new $10K Chevy Trax, I suspect that automakers will make do with a market that only sells 8-12 million new cars a year for the next several years.1 point
-
Had to go out today, got gas and it was $1.39 for regular. $10 filled up the Trax. Funny thing is the sign at the gas station said .39 on one side and 1.39 on the other side... beautiful sunny day, no traffic.1 point

Cost as far as BMW and Mercedes go here, of course they don't have volume of low priced brands. VW should do better here, but worldwide VW is the size of Ford and GM combined. VW could use another crossover or two in the USA, I think a pick up also, probably mid-size they won't get any penetration in full size market. What will be interesting is to see VW's EV push. That might make them a bigger player in the USA because they have a ton of EV's on the way across all their brands.0 points

BMW started using that shift lever in 2008. Why do you think Cadillac started using in on the first place? Hard to say no one in their right mind would buy a German car when Volkswagen is the largest car company in the world and the top 3 selling luxury brands in the world are Mercedes, BMW and Audi and any of them outsell the 4th place brand 3 to 1.-1 points
-
VW is planning something like 80 EV models, some of them will have to hit in the USA. 80 models is full on carpet bomb of all segments.-1 points
-
VW has 3 crossovers, which is the #1 selling body style. They could use one smaller than Tiguan for sure though. Mercedes first 4 EV’s are small and compact SUV (the biggest growth segments) and Full size and mid size sedan will come next. And they are focused on Europe because of emissions regulations. They have to sell every EQ C they build in Europe to lower their fleet CO2 average. Once they scale up the EV’s they can bring more to the USA, but EV sales are like 3% of the American market, they aren’t missing out in anything right now.-1 points
-
Cadillac for sure could use an XT3. Genesis really should have GV60 before they do GV90.-3 points
