The Auto History does show some lovely options that I just do not get why GM cannot realize people would like options. Cadillac has done it recently in the Escalade. Even the XT5 did at the start have options and yet now back to black / grey it would seem for the most part. Had it in the past such as this 1976 Eldorado. CTS sedan of the past with their Red n Black interior with Carbon accents. Even the Buick Lacrosse was considered to have an outstanding interior of contrast for 2017. Buick Avista Concept was outstanding. Why can GM not realize that Black, Grey, Blah interiors we do not want. If they can show it in a concept, give it to us in production. Remember the crushed Velet 1976 Buick interiors? While not a White interior fan, I will say that the Buick Riviera Concept from 2016 was very tasteful in the blue/white with blue lighting accent.3 points

I will say that right now the wife and I Love the lookes inside and out of the Rivian R1T and R1S. We are thinking of buying one of each, but the Hummer by GMC could also do that since there will be both the Truck and SUV for sale. I could enjoy having two auto's that give me 2,000 HP of Fun and Home charging as our next auto's if they are the Hummer package or 1,600 HP of fun if Rivian EVs.3 points

Rivian looks amazing. "Blu wouldn't settle for a crappy ICE, why should you settle for a crappy EV? Get what you want!2 points

The GM design division I think is trying to get customer feedback on a wide range of concept drawings. What are your thoughts? Have to say this is Sexy. One for those that loved the 70's Caprice.2 points

Yes, .these compact CUVs are just generic appliances for generic people...nothing for a car enthusiast, just point A to point B products for the masses....2 points

About 75 here in central Jersey today, mostly overcast but hasn't rained in I think 2 weeks. Might get some Tuesday. Building a 24x20' deck for a customer...2 points

Totally expect it to as we are scheduled to get 7 feet of snow in the mountains by Saturday. https://snowbrains.com/mount-baker-7-feet-fresh-snow/ Early Ski season I hope! Theaters here are all closed and not expected to open till after the new year. I am hoping they will do premium streaming as a James Bond Fan, I am excited to see Daniel Craig's final movie. I do wonder about Tom Hardy as his replacement. Seems we keep getting shorter and shorter James Bond's. Also, while the fan in me loves all the songs, I do think that some of the older songs are way over rated compared to some of the newer songs. Maybe a boomer rated them.2 points

Final thoughts as the G90 drives away from me today: I'll admit I was surprised that I got 24.7 mpg in the G90 5.0 for the week. I double checked the figure I got with the 3.3T AWD from 2018 and that landed around 20.3. Think a bit of highway driving helped in this case. Handling is not a strong suit of the G90. But it does provide an excellent demonstration of Neuton's for every reaction, there is an equal and opposite reaction. I found myself using the standard home screen and not the CarPlay one. The new infotainment system used in Genesis and Hyundai vehicles is a real step forward in terms of design. Wondering when the next-generation G90 is expected...2 points

It's been a while since I've been around. I was browsing through some active threads when I came across this one. After yesterday's announcement by California's idio, er I mean governor, it's more proof the guy is clueless. And seems to have an irrational hate for Ca and it's residents.2 points

Amazing that some people can abuse an auto. Why have such a nice auto if you could not care less about taking care of it. Crazy.1 point

Yep. And to think I only paid maybe 350 a year for it (still thought that was high) before these stupid insurance changes. On my other policy for the rest of my cars, the rates did drop a decent amount. So this one has me puzzled......1 point

Those truck beast things are hideous...the Denali badged monster truck looks like a mutant Silverado HD. Love the Caprice image.1 point

I think when I'm older I wouldn't mind living in a city and walk and use public transport to get around to museums, restaurants, theaters, etc and have a fun car for the weekends to go to the beach or the mountains.1 point

There is nothing "beautiful" in the market segment, regardless of MAZDA and it's endless youtube advertising trying endlessly to sell me a CX-5.1 point

All 3 have zero appeal to me personally. But I hope VW does well. This should be more comfortable and more nicely packaged than the Honda or Toyota in my opinion. I want to go back to third grade when Big Pontiacs ruled the road....everything since has been a disappointing anticlimax. If one thinks of "Climax" in sexual terms, this V Dub is about as Sexy as the meditation of a celibate Buddhist monk. ...and still a full three feet shorter than her Shrek like husband. She's absolutely beautiful, David doesn't realize what a lucky dude he is., A forgettable CUV for a forgettable market segment. Can we go back to being an enthusiast platform... or to ask the question another way...what does THAT celibate Buddhist monk feel when he runs his hands over dashboard plastic?1 point

She wants a Crew Cab Pickup truck which I do owe her since I lost a bet to her about 007 Movie Trivia. As such, Hummer by GMC, Rivian, Ford F-150 or any other crewcab EV Pickup if Nikola or others actually deliver will become her next ride. But thank you for calling her Mrs. Statue, after all for Korean and being 5'8" tall she is very tall for a woman of Korean Heritage as well as taller than many American Men and Woman.1 point

2018 Cadillac CTS AWD V6 Luxury Group He actually picked it out, but now he thinks he wants to stick with an SUV.1 point

Pretty much the same size as the CX-5, CR-V, Escape and Equinox. Would be interesting to see a comparison in terms of real world usability, range, interior space, cargo capacity, performance, etc... I guess the question is the novel powertrain worth the substantial price hike when comparing equivalent trim levels and content. Just another commodity generic CUV, nothing special, just a lease appliance...1 point

They do need a base model that can be below 30k. It would be a good way to get these out there to people, and keep that plant busy......1 point

Actually your Wrong, this ID.4 is to compete against the Honda CR-V Hybrid Touring which starts @ $36,050 and Toyota Rav 4 Prime which starts @ $38,100. Even VW says so. I think this is very competitive to those other compacts. Interesting is when you compare the details of the ID.4 to the Honda and Toyota, they are very identical.1 point

True, unlike 4 year old Mercedes S-class that from 120k drops to 40k but still crappy buy because will cost a fortune to repair.1 point

I know you see auto's that belch smoke, drip oil and are anything but running the way they were engineered especially old 15 year old auto's, nothing fake about that. I do support both, but I am all for the health of everyone and moving to EVs.1 point

How do we engage the youth of today with the Auto industry of the past with a focus on the future in the 21st century? Seems this teacher found a way, ICE to EV conversions in Auto Shop class Converting old Volkswagen from ICE to EV power trains. http://newsroom.vw.com/vehicles/reviving-auto-shop-classes-for-the-ev-era-one-old-volkswagen-at-a-time/ This is based out of West New York, NJ and the then new teacher Ron Grosinger who started teaching Auto shop class at the school in 2005 was faced with figuring out how to survive with an electrive class that had gone from 6 to 2 teachers, rarely had hands on training and only 27 students. Today the Auto Shop program has 4 teachers and is nearing his goal of 50/50 young men and woman. Seems Woman like the cleaner EV approach over the ICE approach. Over all a great read on how one man is making a difference to drive interest back into the youth over auto's. Some thing we ALL SHOULD WANT for the long term life of the auto industry.1 point

A beautifully detailed late model Escalde rolls up to ones of the Lowes I frequent sometimes when i am there....ladder racks and guy sues it to haul concrete. Go figure. and it's like a two year old Escalate, not like a twelve year old one.0 points

Thanks to the crazy, I highly doubt it will change. Talked to a few of my friends both in health care and government, and they are already figuring we will probably see yet another virus because we did not take this and serious enough. It’s sad to see that other countries will probably be done with 90% of this by Christmas......0 points

Got a good laugh...maybe more sad.... Renewing my old Cavalier for insurance (paying it myself since it is my “project”) Wanna cut down more on costs, so I wanted to get rid of as much PIP (our stupid MI insurance) since the car hardly goes anywhere right now. So I have them change the cost, lower everything to basic levels. Quote comes back 3 TIMES as much! They wanted to try to blame other things (me) but nothing has changed save maybe a little extra credit card debt. I’m thinking they are out to make some serious money. So, shopping around for the best deal- or I will simply drop coverage and park it for now.... Long story short- with their “new” policy, basic PLPD on a 16 year old Cavalier would be over 3 grand a year.... ?0 points

Yeah..Cadillac needs a CT6 replacement...but it probably will be an EV.0 points

Interesting read, Bill Gates says with a vaccine out in early 2021, summer of 2021 will return to a somewhat normal life but not totally as he says it will take till summer 2022 for the world to get inoculated and even then anti-vaccine folks will still have to deal with the virus. https://www.theladders.com/career-advice/bill-gates-has-a-predicted-date-for-the-end-of-the-pandemic?ltm=KB9FURKQLp5VtwA2ajtt%2BTsnx4WZ/UepWMorvSuxD1A%3D&subscriber_type=member&utm_term=dnl-9-23-20&utm_campaign=daily-newsletter&utm_source=member&utm_content=dnl-9-23-20&utm_medium=email-1 points
