I could totally see myself driving a Rivian truck to supplement my Avalanche in 5ish years. I won't get rid of the Avalanche, but I would like to slow down the number of miles I'm putting on it. (5,000 so far and have only owned it since August!)3 points

Dealership. However, Carvana allowed me to test drive the Avalanche and do my own inspection on it before I agreed to buy it. I could back out at any point up to 7 days after signing the papers and taking it home as long as I didn't put more than 1,000 miles on it. I also could have refused delivery at the time of pickup with no penalty to me. There is no way all dealerships will move online only, but many will. The profit margin increase for them is too high to not pursue it. For people who don't care about cars and just want to point and click on an Altima for $199 a month, online only will work just fine. The only reason I bought the truck I did was because it was the truck it was... but I'm picky like that.3 points

Non OEM color on a CTS-V, but it looks badass. This is probably sinfularly the most under rated bodystyle of any post WW 2 American car.2 points

Review of Basic electric car. As more and more people sturggle to survive in the USA I could see cheap electrics like this catching on. Lucid.... More Rivian...2 points

Online shopping and online reviews were both a huge help to me in buying the Ranger.2 points

Same way I bought my Avalanche online. I went and test drove a local one to make sure my memory of what I had matched what I wanted.... basically, I made sure I still wanted one and then went and hunted one down. The one I test drove had been abused even though the mileage was low, that's why I didn't buy that one. Bought mine online from Carvana and they shipped it to me from Indianapolis in 4 days. I'd like a paintjob safe offroading trail to take the Avalanche on.2 points

Here’s a great example; Look at LED taillights. Inspired by dump trucks and school buses, LED tails were heralded as illuminating quicker (“saving lives”), burning less fuel (however microscopically less), and the actual per vehicle cost increase was pennies. But there are still incandescent bulbs in new vehicle tails. Know when the first production LED tails came out? 1993.2 points

We are 2020 now, 2030 is 10 years from now, not 8.5 years. I honestly do not see why we could not have the consumer auto market selling electric only by 2030. This is possible over the next 10 years. We have seen change like this happen in many other industries where 10 years later what they sell versus a decade earlier is vastly different.2 points

Interesting take from an actaul Tesla owner. Another long term take... https://electrek.co/2018/07/17/tesla-model-s-holds-up-400000-miles-3-years/ Range is really getting in line with where I could see owning one. https://electrek.co/2020/06/15/tesla-upgrades-model-s-402-mile-range-wheels/1 point

2030- 8.5 years from now??? They’ve already reduced their own credibility to zero. Unless you approach a monumental consumer-related shift with realism of the situation, you already failed. The major accomplishment this entity will achieve is to start a revenue stream.1 point

Actually I dig all four. Old VW Rabbits are cool, as is the Eldorado. I just kind of look at each car for what it is. I don't feel a need to make excessive value judgements about cars. Taht being said, the only modern vehicles that seem to move me emotionally are midsize trucks (Colorado-Ranger-Gladiator-Tacoma-Ridgeline), Jeep/Bronco, and hot hatches like the GTI, Civic Type R, Focus RS/ST and the like. A C8 Corvette or an Audi R8 are like a good looking Blonde woman who doesn't sexually excite me at all. The GTI and Colorado ZR2 are like a Nerdy girl who just wants to undress and get it on. YMMV> I do love this. First time I think I am ever down voting one of your posts in 15 years....but I disagree entirely. This car wins the entire thread...1 point

Just watched the '65 Riviera one. It's tough; I'm fine with letting something like that, once it's given up all it's viable parts, just rot into eternity, but you can't do that with 500,000,000 vehicles.1 point

It's definitely a Boeing 737. It also looks like this image piggybacks onto a Ryanair livery - they're the "Southwest Airlines of Europe," but there ain't no free 2 bags on Ryanair ... quite the opposite. I found this photo funny. Check out the front door, too.1 point

I have never been to Montana. Love the photos of Glacier National Park with snow capped peaks and hillsides full of lupine and evergreens. I've been to the Idaho panhandle (Coeur d'Alene) and could have crossed over to Montana easily and should have done it. However, I have been to Sandpoint, Idaho on my way up to Canada to see Banff and Calgary. Little did I know at the time that Sandpoint was Sarah Palin's hometown. A friend of mine's sister lived in Montana for a while. My friend is Cuban and so is his sister. Her husband is Anglo and very pale. They lived in an area of smaller towns. She would go into small businesses and, in casual conversation, was asked what reservation or tribe she was from! She is very good at poking fun at herself and thought it was funny. It is, and so is her telling the stories. Only about 1 million people live in all of Montana. Californians got their share of flack when they started to move in. Some were equity refugees, some were retirees, and a smaller batch were Hollywood types who bought ranches to get away from it all. Not all the newcomers stay.1 point

I like the cleaned up look of the E-Type Zero, the electric converted version and that is what @balthazar tends to point out about all the junk hanging out like the exhaust pipe and other stuff. I do agree that the Tail lights could have been better incorporated into the sleekness of this car. They are like an after thought to me.1 point

Female K-Pop Here is a KPOP Female artist that her parents emigrated to the US. She was born and raised in the US, went back to Korea and is the biggest KPOP star considered Korea's equal to Beyonce in the US. Crazy, but a very entertaining woman.1 point

All this talk about traveling and I decided to listen to Greek music, based on places. The name of the song is Imerovigli. A village on the northern part of Santorini close to Oia where the famous sunset goers flock to. And Jamaica. A 1950s original song that plays hommage to Jamaica. Well...not really. The title of the song is named after the beautiful island in the Caribbean and the lyrics only references it once. But its a happy, blue collar, fisherman's summer song that says that every morning the singer leaves for work to fish, the trawlers sail to sea like birds scattering in the sky. The trips out to sea are long. Long enough to reach Jamaica. And then references to his love and how he has made his little fishing trawler in the image of her so she could be with him on his trips.1 point

It also means lazy GM designers not putting enough effort to distinguish their Cadillac pride and joy that is Eldorado from the rest of the gang. If a car crazy enthusiast much like myself doesnt care and isnt interested enough to tell the difference, what does that tell you about the Eldorado's styling? If a car crazy enthusiast much like myself doesnt see the minute details, how can you expect an Average Joe to see those minute details and...ultimately: How can you expect an Average Joe to care enough to buy an Eldorado in 1985 over a 1985 BMW 6 Series then BECAUSE it has minute styling differences from the other two? Cadillac losing market share to BMW in the 1980s and into the 1990s is a very real thing. And that Eldorado styling choice to look like an Oldsmobile ( a brand BELOW the Cadillac line no matter how much you think Oldsmobile is luxury, Oldsmobile is still BELOW Cadillac) is a big no no. One has to look at how the styling was done in 1969 to see why its a big no no...1 point
