  1. We can thank the turn of events that you were not permanently harmed and that the fire was contained. What a year indeed, so many of us would wish to light a fire to end it... and here is the message that fire is dangerous, please do prepare for it and never consider it something to play with.

  2. HOLY PHOQUE, DREW!!! The damage done looks like the fire was intense... The way you described it, had you not done what you done, it seems to me the whole house would have been destroyed in 15 minutes. I dont know you or Albert, but man I feel your pain and Im glad you guys (and your home) are alright! Lets all keep safe and healthy and let us put 2020 in the rear view mirror! Happy 2021 everyone!

  5. TWO WEEKS!! That's understandable and we, here in STL, are in the same exact boat with Yadier Molina and Adam Wainwright. They've both been here since 2004 and 2005, respectively, and won multiple World Series and appearances. Now they're free agents and they're just kind of in limbo as apparently nothing has been offered by the team but talks are they'd both like to come back. It would be nice if the team would just come out and say they're trying to re-sign them or they're letting them play elsewhere.

  6. Bad choice of words in the first part of the sentence I used. I did say he wasnt re-signed later. The thing is, his contract was up at the end of the 2019-2020 season. All season long, the Bruins played coy with him as the upper management always hinted at the media that Chara would be coming back for 2020-2021. During the last couple of months, Chara stated that Bruins management kinda ghosted him when him and his agent wanted to talk about re-signing. Kinda shytty if you ask me about a guy giving you 14 years of loyal, broken jaw performances WITH 3 Stanley Cup finals, 1 Stanley Cup that ended a 40 year drought. Id say that the Bruins management should have been a tad more classier in handling his situation both for him and for the fans. He says "recently" the Boston Bruins have informed him... The season ended at the end of September. That is 3 months of false hope for Chara and for the fans. Remember, the new season starts in less than a month. In 2 weeks to be exact... The drafts and the trading for drafts happened 2 months ago... Bruins management with Chara behaved like the Canadiens management with their superstars. (One reason why I am not a Canadiens fan...) 7. I remember these and I liked them ... in purist form. I would go look at them at the Pontiac-Buick-GMC dealership near Totem Lake in Kirkland WA, if it's still there and has the same name. They could be had with a 3800 V6, an automatic 4 spd. transmission, and really toned down appendages and no graphics. They'd probably last a long time with that set up and if taken care of. The one thing you always got on any F-bird from those years is the pop-up headlamps and, after a few years, you'd see some one-eyed bandits plying the roads. Happy New Year! Here's to many great car sightings in 2021.

  8. YESSSSS!!!! 2 WEEKS!!!! Im just afraid of all the Covid cases that we will be undoubtedly hearing about. The NBA and NHL had PURE bubbles in the playoffs. This time around... Good luck to all the athletes, trainers, managers TV crew etc... involved.

  9. Well...a 1970s V8 (and prior years) was not a thrifty affair in ANY displacement. While an Olds 350 is a damn fine engine, an Olds 455 is a mighty one. Despite being choked up with catalytics, those 455s (from Pontiac and Buick too) still had healthy torque figures to melt the tires. Therefore, if I was a 47 year old restauranteur in the mid 1970s (as I am now in 2020), I think I would have had a version of that Cutlass (Hurst or 442 or Supreme) with a 455 lugging my family around. I would have tried to buy a Trans Am with a 455 as well as my "me" car.

  10. Well...I did not expect the Bruins to cut him like they did. Im not surprised by them not re-signing him. I am however surprised that they werent up front to him about it. At the end of last season, at the end of their playoff run, they should have been honest to him and the fans about their intentions. They misled him and the fans by suggesting he will be back for another season... All things said, I cant wait to see the C on Bergeron's jersey! He was a great captain. The Capitals should be able to use his calm, intimidating demeanor on the ice. I do hope Ovi breaks Gretzky's goal record. Its going to be tough for him to do so. 2 lockouts, 2 shortened Covid seasons. He would have had AT LEAST 55 goals this year instead of the 48 he got. This year is a 52 game season? Well...I hope he gets 50 goals in 50 games then! Well...I hope he could get that in LESS than 50 games. Interesting year up ahead... The Senators and Canadiens look (on paper) to have fortified their chances in going deep in the playoffs. The Caps, despite getting Chara (awesome presence on the ice but BECAUSE they got Chara) and the goal scoring freak in Ovi, have gotten older. The NHL lately has become a young league. Yeah...like you said, interesting to see those Bruins/Caps games!

  11. Did a great job while he was there... ? He is going to one of my favorite teams, the Caps. This should make for some interesting games between the two......

  12. You spotted my mistake! Yes, after looking at the vid again, the Salon coupe has a 455 V8. It said it in writing and it has the rumbling dual exhaust. Now I don't know what the first Supreme has. It shows dual exhaust. Olds 350 V8s (stock) had single exhaust. The one thing I am not crazy about is how all these owners have traded in the stock exhaust note of the Olds V8 that is pleasing to the ear for a rumbling one. A 455 means that you can't pass up gas stations too easily. Not for me.

  14. I love these two SkyLines, probably just about the best version Japan has built. Current one is a Blah let down IMHO. R33 and R34 are the best looking.

  15. Cold out this morning, 17F. Roads plowed well. Had to go out and run errands, saw a current gen GMC Sierra longbed regular cab in a light gray blue. Decent looking, first time I’ve seen a regular cab of the current generation.

  16. Great song..it's a cover of a Tom Waits track, here is the original video for the Tom Waits version.. Another train-themed song I like is Elton John's 'Runaway Train' w/ Eric Clapton on guitar...

  17. Probably Rod Stewart's best work ... my favorite, at any rate. Also, there is great footage of NYC and its subways in the video. Enjoy.

  18. I’m using one of my “my site, my rules” tokens to say: Fuck off 2020! If you haven’t done so recently, please take this post as a reminder to check your fire extinguishers, buy more to keep around the house, and check all of your smoke alarms. I had a house fire today and it all happened in under 3 minutes. I saved my house but I got 2nd degree burns on my hands and spent the morning in the ER. A stray broken match head ignited my shower curtain and destroyed my bathroom. Albert had a robe hanging in there and it refused to stay out even after multiple hits with a fire extinguisher. I managed to grab it and fling it into the tub and finally got it doused with water. At some point the heat shattered a glass doorknob and I apparently stepped on it and cut my foot. I bled all over the bathroom floor and into the rest of the house. Hope you all have a great holiday and stay safe.

  19. I may have missed the news announcement; back at the end of November, Rivian announced a price HIKE- the R1T will now be $75,000 to start, and the R1S will start at $77,500.
