I'm sitting at a light last night on the motorcycle. A few guys on Harleys pull up next to me, revving their engines and being loud and obnoxious. One of them leans over to me and says "You ain't got pipes, but you can do this too!" and revs his engine. Me with my innocent face on... "Oh.. thanks... no need.. my bike actually runs fine." Light changes green and I'm off before he can reply.4 points

SUVs and cars don't have benches anymore, they shouldn't use such an idiotic, obsolete measurement either. But they seem to be, I saw the Audi A8 listed as having 61.x inches in hip room. Bench seats are an obsolete artifact of the past, shouldn't be relevant in measuring seat room in vehicles with fixed center consoles...I wonder if Consumer Reports or car magazines do real hip measurements instead of this fake nonsense.2 points

Id say you, with a foreign German Bimmer bike, didnt want to play with your 'paisanos'. They are the ones with the 'domestic' bike after all doing what Americans ALWAYS do! Being LOUD! Id say, YOU were the obnoxious one for NOT being loud! You are TOO good to be LOUD are ya???!!! WEHHLLLLl! LOOKIE WHO WE HAVE HERE???!!! An American who thinks he is Canadian.1 point

Nope- never seen an actual front hip dimension from any source; mags don’t take the time and OEMs apparently self-report. It’s not ‘obsolete’; it’s marketing.1 point

Just an informal drive around Ashtabula County to see the bridges...can be done anytime of year (they have an annual festival where merchants set up at the fair grounds and at some of the bridges). I probably should have waited until next week or so when the fall colors were fully out...but the weather was so nice last weekend, went then. I've seen 12 of the 19 bridges, plan to go back this weekend and see a few more. It's only an hour and a 1/2 for me up to the area. The Ohio wine country is in that area also, a bunch of wineries along I-90. http://www.coveredbridgefestival.org/Pages/bridges.html1 point

I'd have to rank them like this: 1) Audi eTron GT 2) Audi eTron GT ? 3) Lucid Air 4) Porsche Taycan (tie) 4) Tesla Model S (tie) 6) Mercedes EQS I really, really like the look of that Audi. The proportions and styling of that car really do it for me. I also am a big fan of both the Rivian and the Hummer. I don't think the Mustang Mach-e looks that bad either. Someone in my neighborhood had a cyber orange GT parked in their driveway when I went for my lunch time walk yesterday and it didn't look half bad. Truth be told, the only one of these that would have even the smallest chance of ever winding up in my driveway is the Rivian. Maybe a Lyriq if that back end ever grows on me.1 point

Not sure if this is the most current available or not but it is the most free to use ? Bit of light SAE reading for you on legroom measurements. I'm not going to lie, I did not read it in detail but I am guessing what you are looking for is in there somewhere. https://law.resource.org/pub/us/cfr/ibr/005/sae.j1100.2001.html1 point

I would NOT recommend that super panoramic sunroof option. Not enough structure or protection in case of a rollover accident.1 point

The only two covered bridges I've actually been in were in the Laurentians north of Montreal and in Stone Mountain Park outside of Atlanta. The one in the Laurentians was way off the beaten path and painted that faded country red that some people paint their houses. - - - - - September 25 Of the smaller cars over there, I sort of like this Opel Corsa coupe. I like the unique coupe and window roofline. This car was over here for a while badged as a Saturn, making it an "American" product ... the Saturn Astra, I believe. Saturns turned out to be better than I would have thought.1 point

I had forgotten all about this one and then I heard it on the radio. This one could run just on the instrumentals and the "ow" sounds.1 point

Not an Audi fan but that (along with the Taycan) is one good looking car, EV or otherwise. Very aggressive styling for them. Perhaps just leaving the title be is in order here.1 point

Another day, another 6 covered bridges on the tour. Saw 5 yesterday. This sharp Porsche 996 Turbo cab was on the tour, and one road between two bridges was a gravel/dirt road with many mud filled potholes. The couple in the Porsche were going slowly down that road, I was behind them. I love the craftsmanship of these bridges, esp the 19th century ones. Finished off the weekend with a couple beach stops. I love fall in NE Ohio.1 point

Today is a sad day. It's Alitalia's final day of operating as it has been known for slightly over 75 years. Tomorrow, it becomes ITA (Italia Trasporto Aereo), which sounds very aseptic. Alitalia is an evocative name because it combines the 2 words "ali" and "Italia," which mean wings and Italy, respectively. So, the alliteration means "the wings of Italy" and it rolls off people's tongues. I'm very glad I've gotten to cross the Atlantic aboard their 747 when they operated them, mostly from Toronto (YYZ). Those were great flights. Great logo and livery, too. Delta heads up SkyTeam and their key European partners are/were Air France, KLM-Royal Dutch, and Alitalia. Sure, some people have (had) their issues with them. In the past, they've not been the most punctual. In recent years, they've been very punctual. I've enjoyed every flight aboard Alitalia. Thanks for the memories.0 points
