  3. What do a burnt pizza, a frozen beer, and a pregnant woman all have in common? An idiot guy who didn't pull out in time.

  6. Look at that, t-shifter, full instruments, and manual windows! Boo to the strip speedo. As for the Jeep photos, that's a nice spread of them @regfootball. "Oil change showroom time" ... ain't that the truth. As for the vehicle, up-market fit and finish, "boxier" looking bucket seats (which I like), but obnoxious infotainment center (TOO much). With all this talk of different shifter possibilities, no one remembered to mention the trestle shifter? I love these:

  7. Yes, Azzurri. But, back to the livery, the stupid stripe on the ITA tail doesn't work. When you get close to the blue graphics, they're dumb. And, yes, seeing the Sistine Chapel is an incredible event, as is going to the top of the cupola and seeing 360 degrees of Rome. I haven't done either in a long time. This is what a good livery looks/looked like:

  8. I kinda like it. Its simple, yes. But I like that shade of blue. Its reminiscing of the Italian football club's colours. The Azzurri I think is the term? Come to think of it, because it mimics the Azzurri's colours, I have gone from liking it to loving it. That is what they say.... Italians do it better! I agree!

  10. Whoa! Didn’t know the Compass got an interior redo for 22! This is a game changer! Why does anyone even look at GM stuff anymore? Nice interior!

  12. EXTERIOR Side view - guess where? Three guesses and the first two don't count Angled front view Angled rear view It took on the two-lane roads nimbly given how narrow its stance looks They did a nice of incorporating the Fusion and Focus design lingo into this smaller, more wedge-like package "Aerial view" of the car INTERIOR Dash, which I think is fairly nice looking for an entry-level car, as seen from the driver's side Dash as seen from the passenger's side Speedometer, tach, and fuel use gauges - temperature is shown by a bar digital readout - steering wheel controls are more spartan than in up-level cars The hutch is funny and sort of "cute" in a weird way - some Andrea True on Bluetooth to motor along to This is the vertical expanse of the center stack and automatic gear lever Kudos for a very simple climate control panel Not too spacious in the rear for tall or big people, but fine for "smaller" people I really liked the visibility out the rear backlite The trunk was very roomy - it's that it's tucked in under the raked roofline - and this has an obvious 60-40 split rear seat MECHANICAL Everything looks accessible and there is even some spare space beyond from where you can see the pavement, with the only thing I couldn't find being a transmission fluid dipstick This has 1.6 liter 4 that is naturally aspirated, was built in Mexico, and fetched 42 mpg on its best, all highway tank of gas The ABS system control box is at the rear left and there is a big cover over what is probably the drive belt There are drum brakes at the rear, behind those respectable looking alloy wheels, and, of course, disc brakes up front That's all, folks - - - - - End of photos

  13. Someone in my area has a dark red Toronado of that vintage, a late 90s Riviera, and a late 90s Regal sedan.

  14. It is an '87 Olds Toronado Trofeo. What a nice cabin environment all the way around!

  15. I think that is a late 80s Toronado? I thought it was a W-body Cutlass, but it's different. Definitely looks like an Olds steering wheel. IIRC, some Chevy and Olds models used that style of shifter in the 70s (as did the '69-70 Ford XL).

  17. Y'all take note that the A-380 is in the deck of cards again. Some Asian and Middle Eastern carriers have put some back into service. Of the Europeans, British has put some back into service. British has woken a few of them up with short trips. They have or are flying them from LHR-London Heathrow to Madrid and Frankfurt. If the price is right and a person happens to be across the pond, what a fine way to start and end a 3-day weekend, for example. Flying on the A-380 is big time on my "to do" list.

  18. This new livery for the airline replacing Alitalia is sophomoric and a disappointment. The Italians can do better. This looks very "11th hour." However, it has just been announced that ITA joined Sky Team. That means your Delta miles will work on Air France, KLM, and now ITA to get you across the pond.

  19. One car to die for, one car to die in. Seems like a great pair! Both the truck and the lumber, please. The whole Aesthetic of the PNW is kind of cool though. I could really see myself retiring out there.

  20. Saw the last-gen Regal sport wagon turning left in front of me yesterday. It was a red-orange or candy apple red I've not seen before. It looks long, especially with the horizontal metal bands in the roofline. If it didn't have the Buick badge, you'd think it's a European car. Well, it is. The person driving it looked "discerning" ... that means that they weren't "Mom, apple pie, and Chevrolet" and could have just as easily been driving a Jeep or a BMW, for example. This morning, seen going down the street from a parking lot, I saw an old Sunfire notchback coupe, like the Monza Town(e) Coupe. It was silver with a black landau. It was in excellent condition. I wonder what powered it and if the engine was original. It was worth a chuckle.

  21. As I bid farewell to my '04 Silverado, I reflect on some of the vast interface changes between it & the '21 Sierra. • I thought I'd dislike, or at least find useless; the A-Pillar grab handles. Nope- I love them. • On the other hand I haven't made much if any use of the rear bumper corner steps. • The backup camera / image is pretty good/clear, has the 'angling lines' on screen, but I still back up using side mirrors. The camera I use basically the last bit of backing into a spot. • Inside storage is a significant improvement. • The keyless entry thing (which the wife's '16 Malibu has); you sure get used to in a hurry. ? • Went for a local ride today, wife's comment was 'I love how much room there is in this!' About 3450 miles, 400-mile average is hovering around 22.7 on the dash.

  23. After only putting 1500 miles on my Jeep between March '20 and June of this year, I've put 2k on it since June...every weekend since Labor Day I've gone to different Lake Erie beaches and state parks along the North Coast. Have just over 53k miles now and it's running great.

  24. At a grocery store parking lot Hennessey HPE750. Is it a real HPE750? Maybe. I do know its a real Z06 however and that is what counts for me!

  25. When it rains, it pours. I saw 4 of these within 48 hours, just staring me in the face. I see them, but not this often. One: Red one - the reason I even took a photo is because I preferred this combination of rubber bumper strips and body colored bumpers. - - - - - Two: This one is in really good shape, and in that bronze color ... it's hard to tell with these, since I think they all looked much like this from 2000 to 2004. The cosmetic changes came in 2005 and were even more helpful to the Monte Carlo than they were to the Impala, IMO. - - - - - Three: This is probably a 2002. I remember this color, which was also available on the Monte Carlo, and looked good on the MC: Cappuccino Frost Metallic. - - - - - Four: This is the last one I saw. On all of these sightings, these wheel covers are fairly decent in that they "sort of" look like upcharge alloys. = = = = = Okay, so here's the story with these. These ran with Chevy's 3400 V6, presumably born of the Chevy 3100 V6. These 3400 engines were stickered with EPA numbers of 21 / 34. Any time I have had one as a rental and driven it for some distance, they always did get about 33 and 34 on the open road. These sipped fuel. They did it with 4 speed automatics, not 6 or 8 gears. No cylinders were deactivated. I felt that the Chevy 3.4/3.5/3.9 just had to be inferior to a Buick 3800 V6. You know ... it's a Chevy "high value" V6 engine. The reality is that many have been pushed around pretty hard and have busted past 200,000 miles. They feature iron block and aluminum head construction. And they are a 60 degree design. Truth be told, these Chevy V6s were fairly rhythmic when you revved them. And a 60 degree design in a V6 is supposed to be more "balanced" than is a 90 degree design. It's interesting to see which cars and engines are in it for the long haul.
