  2. Speaking of diecast, @Cory Wolfe, I've been into building models for the last year+. This is what I've built and the ones I have up next. I'm currently building an Enzo that I'm about finished with.

  3. I finished my Beretta model. Well, this wasn’t so much if a built as it was just a paint job as it was an old dealer promo model that I painted to look as close to my first car as I could. It has the same body as my Z26 had but different wheels.

  4. A new measure has been implemented on TOP of the "heath contribution" aka tax on the vaccinated by the 24rth. In order to shop non-essential products, one must be vaccinated with 3 shots and to show proof of vaccination. On the 13th for alcohol and cannabis stores. On the 24rth the rest of the non-essential businesses. https://montreal.ctvnews.ca/quebec-to-require-three-shots-for-adequate-protection-those-who-got-covid-19-urged-to-get-boosted-sooner-1.5737464

  5. Is this reality really sad though? That GM is no longer the go to OEM for mediocre vehicles anymore? That Walmart type of consumers no longer shop for GM vehicles anymore? That GM no longer produces mediocre products that Walmart type of consumers crave for? Because 40-50 years ago, General Motors gave us some really bad stinkers that were engineered to the lowest common denominator meant for big volume. And what did that do? Ironically, it made lots lots of Americans mad to never touch an American car again which ironically, these very same pissed off Americans are buying mediocre shyte from Japan... Guys, be freakin' happy that GM is building some quality cars again! Engineering is top notch and so is build quality. What is sad in my opinion, is that some Americans are NOT buying and supporting GM that builds a waaaay better product than Toyota which is a very very lesser product than GM's. Now THAT is SAD.

  6. And yet the default is buy a Toyota. Just like buy a Chevrolet 40 or 50 years ago was the default. SAD.

  7. A-Effing-Men! The RAV4 is the current lowest common denominator. It's not that it's a great car in any particular measure (thought the hybrid model does have excellent performance and efficiency, but is also quite expensive and dealers are marking it up). They aren't very comfortable, they don't handle well. The interior is meh. As low as the bar is, the CR-V is a much nicer and more comfortable vehicle all around, but it gets outsold by the Toyota. People are just buying refrigerators.

  8. It's all statistics. Volume chasers are going to flood every segment, pushing for mainstream volume (toyoter, mercedes, etc). Other Companies are focusing more on future/profitable segments rather than mere volume. It's not like the RAV4 is a compelling vehicle, people just buy them for some reason. Look at the corolla- absolutely bottom of the barrel, people keep buying it.

  9. That's a very good point and I hadn't thought about their health care system. Yeah, that makes sense then.

  10. Not really, in a country with socialized healthcare where everyone pays into the system, those that refuse vaccination and are putting the biggest burden on the system should pay more. Kind of how health care insurance here in the US if you smoke or chew tobacco have higher premiums than those that do not. Why not have those that ignore the science to stay healthy pay to cover their health needs? Makes sense to me. This is what I find confusing is that mRNA tech has been around for 40 years, being used to treat cancer and we have given such a better quality of life to Cancer survivors of which both my wife and I are survivors and yet people think this is to make you part of the BORG. The science is very solid and well tested. Crazy IMHO

  11. Hah, right. Tesla ownership definitely has its negatives, the biggest of which is probably Elon. Many owners blindly worship the Haus of Musk which leads everyone else to believe that any owner must as well. While I think he has definitely had some radical ideas that have led us to where we're at now, it might be time for him to step back and perhaps abmit he was wrong about certain things (*cough* FSD, *cough* removing radar, *cough* v11 software). One of my biggest regrets is selling my old diecast collection about 10 years ago. I had about 100 cars and I let it go for a few hundred. Some of those cars really ballooned in value and it would cost me 10 times the amount I sold it for to rebuild the collection exactly as I had it. Right now I'm back up to about ten 1:18 scale, about 150 Hot Wheels/Matchbox cars, and a handful of others that fit in-between. Unfortunately my latest super rad purchase was damaged by USPS...

  12. Yesterday, I was at a lunch buffet (I'll spare you the photos of it), this came on: The lady who was working my area, and whose area I ask for, and I both agreed that THIS was real music. I also told her I once had a Cutlass Supreme to round out the situation. She laughed and said she had one, too. Karma, I tell you.

  13. You should see the place where I work. It has road plans, housing developments, and building plans going back to the 1920s. One of my projects that I started last year and will go on for a 3-4 more years is to get all of that stuff digitized.

  14. I love old hand drawn blueprints... Shared this with a member or two already, but damn I am glad I have a truck. loading up with Walnut and Cherry for the wood lathe, going back for more. Having fun turning, made 6 small gifts out of scrap for students. Yeah it is. Amazing the growth of electric vehicle sales.
