S600 Maybach might not blow up many skirts here, but compared to being a Grosser which sounds like a kids cartoon with vomit type jokes or Pullman which tends to make me think of trains, I think it is a better marketing potential than either of the other two. I still think that while there is potential for a stretched version of the S600 with ultimate interior, I am not sold on Maybach being the right top of the line package name.

Interesting, I would have to think this will be a Trim package on the S-Class. They need to recover the R&D on those expensive recliner chairs for the back seat. I am sure the private limo business will continue to buy them.

Cadillac News: Rumorpile: ATS-V Packing A 425 Horsepower Twin-Turbo V6

A modern Syclone and Typhoon would be cool...even cooler would be an Escalade V series w/ the CTS-V engine. An Escalade V was considered as they had mules running around with the Supercharged V8, but was killed due to the depression and the killing of the old GM and move to the new GM. 3rd party Superchargers on the escalades are amazing. Have a friend that like me has a 2006 Escalade ESV Platinum that he supercharged and while it requires Premium, it is freakin amazing to drive. I agree with you that they need a V series in all their auto lines. Escalade V SRX V XTS V CTS V ATS V -

Industry News: Study: Gen Y Wants Cars... When They Can Afford Them
David replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
So Gen Y wants a self driving car that keeps them entertained. Sounds like the spoiled brats are still spoiled. They seem to miss out on seeing the world for their beloved tech.- 86 replies

I agree with most of what you post here except the following: Subaru WRX STI should be no higher than a D if that. The car looks too much like a Camry and no changes to the power train. This car should be 400HP and far more radical than it is. Porsche is over rated, should be a D, nothing new here just warmed over left overs. VW Beetle, I think is a F as they failed to deliver a dune buggy.

Sounds Good, look forward to the update.

It would be Cool if Chevy did the 130R with a high output Diesel that still delivered high MPG.

Watching the video makes me want to play but the car still does not stir the soul to say WOW, I want to pay a ton of money and own that.

Rumorpile: The Return of Holden's High-Performance Sedans
David replied to William Maley's topic in Heritage Marques
If they figure out a way to make a profitable RWD sedan for Holden, Chevy and other select badges, then all is good. I am not a fan of confusing people with FWD and RWD of the same badge name. I hope Drew is right that the Holden High Mileage FWD appliances use a different name and they keep the Commodore to a RWD performance sedan only. -
Haynes vs. Chilton Repair Manuals
David replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Product Questions and Reviews
So I have gone back and forth as my Chilton manual for my 94 GMC Suburban is excellent but the Haynes was not and as such I have the following library. 1994 GMC Suburban - Chilton 1998 Dodge Dakota - Haynes 1999 Dodge Durango - Both, was out on a trip and had a break down and so bought what was available. Both have good points and bad points but now I can cover it all. 2004 SRX - FSM 2005 CTS - FSM 2006 H2 - FSM 2006 Escalade - Nothing yet 2008 Trailblaser SS AWD - Nothing yet. I am going to review the DVD's as I like the ability to search things better than the book form, I will then decide if I go FSM or 3rd party DVD.- 23 replies

Do not forget the suspension, GM's Magnetic Ride Suspension. I just wish they had done a modern take on the body style and interior rather than a retro look with a large touch screen. Just looks wack on the design. Clearly the people at this company are really hooked on the Mustang Fast back look of the late 60's.

I agree with Dwightlooi, GM should just use the existing 6.6 and scale it down as a V6, V4 and really kick ass in the auto industry. People would buy up every 4.95L V6 powered Yukon Denali and Tahoe with this engine. I also can see huge sales in both full size and mid size pickups with a 3.3L V4 Duramax Engine.

I personally believe in the Protection 3M offers to keep your auto's looking new. My 2006 Escalade Platinum ESV has 120,000 miles on it as I use it for long distance road trips. My wife and I love road trips, seeing america. Not a single scratch or dent and the front nose looks like the day I took it off the show room floor. Litterly it was the last one the dealership had, fully loaded and they had to remove it from the showroom so I could test drive it. I have had the 3M protection put on all my auto's and they all look like new still. My service manager at Cadillac keeps asking to buy my Escalade for himself as he loves that the interior and exterior are like new, still has that new Leather smell. I know I am probably an exception as I garage all my autos and keep them clean and detailed. But then they are a bad investment, so might as well make them last as long as possible. So I strongly support people using the Paint Protection kits, not everyone has a steady hand and if you do not have the patience to smooth it out and work out the bubbles, then pay to have it installed. 4mil versus thicker 3M products, I understand the need to fill the request for cheaper products, but I will always tell people to spend the few extra bucks for the thicker product as you want the protection from rock chips also.

I agree that this auto has lost it's unique character. Toyota bloated it up and destroyed the speciality of what it was. Engine should have been at least in the 350-375 or even better yet pushing 400hp/lbs as an awd beast.

YES YES YES, Put that bad boy into the Full Size SUV's line. Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Yukon XL and Escalade, Escalade ESV would do well with this. Class leading HP, Torque and MPG would be awesome for GM.

Hate to say this as I have always loved the STI, but clearly Toyota is having a major affect on Subaru as this is a PIG with LIPSTICK. Can we say Tarted up Camry? I knew you could! Sad to see Subaru being this dumbed down by Toyota. Same old motor, New blah body style and just a warm over of what they have done with the Toyota line of auto's.
