  1. Thanks, I did find it amazing that the fully loaded MB for 30 has a Pole to hold up the hood compared to all the other auto's with their shock/struts pushing up the hood. Just 500 more on a stripped down MB and you have the difference in hoods. I would think MB could have standardized every auto including their starter/entry level car to have the same hood support system.
  2. Platinum
  3. I see the picture now of your purple car and love it. That is a beauty.
  4. Agree with Drew, change the name to Chevy Commercial Vehicle (CCV) and sell it to the fleet's. Continue to tweak and strengthen it as a top quality product that can handle the abuse of commercial use and show the world that a fleet car can hold up, check out what we build for your family. I believe that people can be sold on a quality product that is used by Fleet and then go check out the rest of the product line up and this would allow keeping residuals higher.
  5. Over all very happy with the GM increase in sales, now here is to hoping they do not sit on their past accomplishments and push forward to do even better.
  6. What? A Camaro I find uncomfortable? A CTS-V wagon or coupe that is as much as a Tesla? F... that, I'll just get a BMW or a Tesla. The fugly Chevy SS? The never-going-to-happen-because-the-Ute-dies-in-2016 El Camino? Sorry, I really don't find what GM is currently selling to be very appealing. I put up with GM's BS for decades because I actually LIKE most of the Pontiacs they created (Not the G3, T1000, G5 or the Daewoo LeMans). I put up with the awful ergonomics of the 3rd and 4th gen Firebirds because I felt they look a 100x better than the Camaro. And I can show up at the Pontiac shows with the Firebirds, supercharged Grand Prixs, GTO or G8 and while there is a little harassment, there is still some kinship and some respect... because they understood that for every Trans Am or GTO, that GM had to sell 10 FWD appliances... unlike showing up with 'brand C'. Eh, sometimes I don't even know why I bother posting here anymore. You post to strike up just this type of conversation and debate. Without everyone's voice whether you agree with it or not we cannot make change happen. Lemmings give up and accept their place in life. The Eagles will attack each other at times but accept living with each other to make change! You are a young eagle, do not give up and you will find that one auto that strikes your fancy and passion for what you love. Fact is that while we all might come from different backgrounds and countries, what makes us human and strive for a better world is the ability to accept each other and those differences and defend why you believe in what you care about. At the end of the day, I would still sit down, offer you beer, wine, woman and song and relax taking in the beauty of our planet and the diversity of what makes it all so amazing. I am looking at a picture on my wall of an Orange 68 Pontiac GTO Convertible and wish they could do a car like this as a limited run for the GMC/Buick family. The 08 Trailblazer AWD SS that I bought strikes me the same way. Limited production compared to the mass produced trailblazers that I do not like. Hang in there and I believe you will find that passion. Some times we do get down but never give up!
  7. Welcome to the Borg! I thought Subaru made what you describe? VW does show a TDI Jetta Wagon.
  8. Very Cool, nice job. This should make it easy for anyone to upgrade their tail lights.
  9. This is very true, until baby boomers move past the driving phase of their life, they are still challenged with learning new technology. I think dealerships will only help retain customers by having tech overview and support.
  10. Kenworth Truck manufacturing plant has this temp setup, you see the framed semi's with engines running from the one plant to the custom plant where they get their special body and going around the city of Renton here you see the guys on a temp seat driving the semis with no bodies. Pretty funny looking.
  11. My 94 GMC Suburban has wasted space with my 350 bored out 402 in there and yet you put in the 454 and all of a sudden you have tight space and wish for more room to work on the engine.
  12. Please take pictures, that would be very cool. Sadly I think this will still be a black eye for Jeep as people know they have been having issues with the AWD/4x4 system working with the new 9 spd tranny and V6 engine. I hope I am wrong and they truly have it working well, but I can see Consumers Reports blasting the first year Release of the Cherokee and it having an affect on sales.
  13. Did they have a temp seat installed for driving it off the assembly line?
  14. Bummer you will not buy from GM, you are missing out on some amazing auto's.
  15. I have to disagree, if you drop it that much you have a station wagon at car ride height. CUV's should ride higher than cars.
  16. Wonder how the Gov Stock Loss plays with their IRS filling?
  17. Nope but I do agree that it is a shift in life style use and the day of the Ute is numbered. In talking with people here in the northwest, a car type pickup with only seating for 2 or 3 with a bench seat is not really desired. Truly a niche auto for a small group of people. Crew cab mid size trucks are what most people want.
  18. Interesting to see the people vent about how GM is screwing up Caddy with this CUV. I think people need to wait and see what GM brings to the table as lately they have done very well and have learned that a re-badge is a failure. I think the CUV will be very different than anything else they have ever done on this same platform.
  19. I fall into the same camp as Drew. I have custom rims on all my SUV's and have no problem keeping them clean. Yet with that said, I can see those that love to customize their auto's using this to customize their rims or as Drew pointed out, winterizing their rims against road salt damage. Some very valid use cases for this product. Good Luck. Follow up Use cases: Personal customization of rims to match auto. Winter Mode protection for states with heavy road salt use. Business use where building a marketing theme to push a product. Seasonal wraps to match the current hot fashion trends of color and design. Fleet standardization where buying slashed priced trucks or SUV's but wanting a consistent color, cheaper to wrap the auto than repaint it. List can go on but I see why your company would come out with this, some very valid reasons.
  20. 99 Durango tricked out with neon lights everywhere. Looks like it was driving on a cloud of fire as the underside of the car was all red. Headlights also glowed a bit red even while on. From what I have learned online, guess they drill their headlamps and insert the desired color LED to show in the light and give it this color hue. Very interesting and weird at the same time.
  21. While this was not unexpected, I was hoping that they would have held onto their shares longer to at least break even. Here is to hoping. For those that think we should have not done this at all, the worst thing would have been to stand by and do nothing and have a far worse price tag on our country.
  22. Coal has a bright future in this country as an export to China. China is where we were 40 years ago.
  23. I agree with you Ocnblu, it seems todays auto's have pathetic backup lights. I have added rear flood lights to every auto I own now so that when you go into reverse you get a nice bright flood of light to see where you are going. Watch it with those wimpy backup lights as I have seen more than one person get rear ended.
