The Cool, odd and unusual car pics thread...
G. David Felt replied to A Horse With No Name's topic in The Lounge
Freakin awesome trucks. Looks like two V6 engines tied together to drive that low rider! -
Yea, I am very excited for this movie, the more I review what pictures and writting has been done, the more I think this will be a very good movie! I am interested in how they will tie it all together since no way in hell they wanted Mel Gibson back.

For this line of car, I think they hit the advertising on the head. This should be about luxury, ease of use and comfort. I believe they have nailed it for the demographic of Customer.

Truck Trend: 2014 Chevrolet Tahoe Caught Testing in Michigan
G. David Felt replied to GMTruckGuy74's topic in Chevrolet
I've long thought the current Yukon would have looked better w/ the Sierra front end. But I do prefer the Tahoe/Suburban front end over the Silverado. I totally agree and I think most people also, the Chevy Suburban/Tahoe should have shared it's front end with the Chevy Truck. GMC should have ditched the but ugly Yukon nose for the GMC truck nose. This way both truck and suv have family design language that is best and looks freakin awesome! I am excited about the new Full Size SUV Family. I just hope they realize that their is a market for having a diesel in the Suburban/Yukon XL line. Due to Gov Regs, the Whole auto industry has been on a bloat diet over the last 20 years. Time to go on a Diet and loose that mid section! -
Naw, not the Toughest, just people are sold on a cheap ass plastic interior with rubberband and twin body on frame and a Lego Engine. Cheap to fix, so the bulk of people buy em.

GMC News: 2013 GMC Terrain Denali To Start At $34,525*
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
With traction and stability control my SS is like a tank and damn near boring to drive. Seldom is there a momnet of panic even if you try. I have gotten it to 4 wheel drive over the computer but it take a lot of trying. I do miss my Sonoma 2WD. For years I was a drifter before it was popular. Often I looked like Kinser coming off turn 4 at Eldora. I has a Cobalt with no aids and got my son in it. We hit a parking lot and I did a couple spins with the e brake. It is sad he never really knew a car could do that as he was too young to remember the Sonoma. We live in a world where kids will fail to learn car control buy doing donuts in a parking lot like many of us did. I do agree most drivers today have no snow driving skills and sadly kids do not think to take a car, truck or suv to a parking lot and see just what it will do. I do agree with you on the quality of tires and that does make a huge difference in being able to get around in snow. Sadly, to many idiots with no driving skills live in Seattle and with having been hit twice by Idiots, I now use AWD to make sure during Fall, Winter and early spring I can get around without anyone hitting me.- 49 replies

Infiniti News: Infiniti Still Wants A Halo Car.. Which One Though?
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Infiniti
I've noticed that, but pretty much anything 4-5 years old that sits outside here has discolored lights due to the evil bright light in the sky 300+ days a year. Yet 14yr old cars in Seattle look brand new even when they sit outside all the time. Guess that cloud cover really works to protect the car! -
My oldest is a 94 GMC Suburban and my newest is a 2006 Escalade ESV. I truly have loved some of the new auto's GM has come out with, but fitting into them is a problem for my 6'6" tall frame. They are building them better, but also they are building them smaller and us big guys will hold onto our old roomy dependable and no Nanny Electronic Auto's!!!

GMC News: 2013 GMC Terrain Denali To Start At $34,525*
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
I would agree that most CUV's are man versions of a mini van. For me as long as it gets me to the ski resorts, an AWD Butch CUV is fine with me. Hell man up and do it with FWD. LOL! The AWD is good for people with long unplowed drives but to be honest there is no need for it. But it does make more money for GM. The FWD will handle the mountains in WV so if you can make it thorugh the snow there you can make it anywhere. Sorry Hyper but I have to totally disagree with you on FWD can get you through anything. Here, the FWD going up the last 7 miles gaining 3000 feet in elevation are always on the side left spinning their tires and having to chain up. This is why AWD will always be the way to go, no need to stop. Been to WV and the mountains are tiny there considering the west coast and Rocky mountains. Here the hills are big enough challenge to the FWD and the drivers end up leaving the roads blocked. On top of this, a heavy wet snow the Pacific Northwest gets compared to the light powder that seems to fall elsewhere. Anyone who has dealt with the heavy wet snow off the great lakes or been in the PNW will know that RWD and FWD are left spinning compared to 4x4 or AWD when the snow hits. Just not enough traction no matter how much you try to drive slow and easy and use your tranny.- 49 replies

Infiniti News: Infiniti Still Wants A Halo Car.. Which One Though?
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Infiniti
Yes they need a Halo car, but will they succeed when their average age of buying is senior? Not so sure on this one, I hear so many people talk about performance for Infiniti and yet I see mostly baby boomers on the lot buying. I think they have more issue to address than just the need of a Halo car. Interiors while pretty nice are about as small and tight as they come. I doubt they have ever really tried putting anyone over 5'8" tall in one of their cars let alone their so called luxury SUV. -
Has a big order to fill. Will see if he is the new car guy everyone has been looking for! After all, the rest of our beloved car guys are all senior retirement and dying. Time to find some new folks with Passion about auto's! This does not mean a person who can turn out a solid, good appliance of a car, but a person who can truly put passion back into a car.

PowerTrains Rock, Bring the Baby Duramax Diesel, it will sell!!! Body style goes with the rest of the Chevy Family, they could update it to be more Impala/Malibu like and then tweak the inside for the US. Over all it is a nice truck and would do well here. -

This will be good for everyone, I agree with Cubical, Lincoln cannot survive in present form. They also need to enforce luxury dealership showrooms. The current Ford/Lincoln dealership by me is from the 50's truly shows it's age and the showroom is so small they have just enough room for the sales folks and two auto's. One Ford and One Lincoln and that is it. Very pathetic.

That is precisely the defensive mindset I was talking about. Find excuses about why other manufacturers are successful and why GM cannot be. People here bitch about brand dilution of Cadillac by sharing its components with Chevies, yet they are okay for a Lamborghini sharing components with the lesser Audi. GM already has a capable platform in Corvette why not utilize it and create something better for Cadillac? In similar tone, "Hyundai was never a luxury car make and never will be. Toyota (in 80s) was never a luxury car maker and never will be. Lexus never produced a supercar and never will do so." Those manufacturers did not think it that way. Ciel invoked more positive response from import lovers than ATS has and yet one is not going into production. Again, given the resources and talent GM has, it should stop making excuses. I not only totally support what Z is saying, we need to FORCE one more important point! The DEALERSHIPS, What do I mean. China has these amazing Cadillac dealerships that make people want to visit. Our Current DEALERSHIPS SUCK!!! My Caddy Dealership that I have bought my CTS, SRX, Escalade and hummer from has done NOTHING except change their main sign which still reads Northwest Cadillac/Hummer Dealership. Yet their windows have the Olds, Saturn Logo's all over. The building was new back in the 40's and they expanded in the 60's to take on Olds when the Buick Line went to another place and then expanded for Hummer when it came out but never built any hummer like show floor, kept it the same old ugly 40's building and then they converted a couple bays to allow them to sell Suzuki's before GM forced them to unload that line. Yet those bays have Suzuki all over them as they use them for storing stuff now. Dealerships MUST Upgrade to be competitive. The Bellevue Caddy Dealership moved over into their dead Hummer building which does have the required H building and across the street the Bellevue Lexus Dealership built a feaking 3 story 175,000 square feet show room on the mid and top floor and the bottom floor is all repair and prep. Take their Virtual Tour http://www.lexusofbellevue.com/ This is how Cadillac stores should be. The Bellevue place will not even show images of their showroom. Cadillac MUST Step up their image at the stores to get new customers and keep existing ones! :rage:

The Dodge Dart is Sharp, very nice car. On the way into work with rain coming down, a late 50's or early 60's dodge pickup truck that you can tell is a restore in progress but had no doors on it. He was belted up and driving in the slow lane getting wet, but loving his drive. Wish I could have snapped a picture.
